Meanwhile they are racking up a hefty bill and keeping the fans of our club worrying.
 

Am I the only one who thinks this is actually logical from the EFL and was probably a planned meeting for a while. If we said that we had enough funds to get us through to the end of January, it's only right that if we haven't got the preferred bidder deposit yet that the EFL ask where the money is coming from to recruit if we haven't sold any players either? 

If Ashley's proposed bid is better than Appleby's, then the Admin team will wait as long as possible for that offer to be made formal

I hate the EFL as much as anyone - they're just not fit for purpose.
But if the club cannot provide proof that we can see the season out, that must mean we don't have a Preferred Bidder's non-refundable deposit.
In turn, that means that the Administrators do not have a preferred bidder.
That is more alarming than anything.
Forget the EFL.
Forget re-signing Jagielka.
Forget selling Knight and the others.
What's at stake here is whether we will still have a Derby County Football Club (in the form we know it).

Agree totally, this is one thing I never got with Marshall. The things he did to get Scotland qualified were irrelevant to Derby.
Everyone made out he was some sort of god who was an amazing keeper I thought he was incredibly poor. I can remember one game where I thought, "wow, Marshall is incredible" being Norwich away. 
His shot stopping numbers were amongst the worst in the league and he never left his line. Then refusing to play topped it off.

To summarise the position of the U23s:
The goalkeeper we were going to field in the game pulled out in the warmup A number of U23s couldn't be retained in the summer due to EFL restrictions The best of the U23s are in the first team due to not being able to recruit any first team players It was the first game back after a month break over Christmas A number of players are returning from injury The limited number of wingers in the U23 squad are injured Just adding Tommo, Plange ans Stretton to that team last night would have resulted in a win. We also have Wilson and Sibley who would have played if not injured.
