Bob Mash reacted to hintonsboots in El DerbyCo
Time to close this embarrassing thread. How on earth he even bypassed our legal team/ board amazes me.
A poor mans Michael Knighton , and that’s stretching it. If I had to draw an exact comparison, it would be Lord Melbury from Fawlty Towers.
Get it locked ⚽️

Bob Mash reacted to uttoxram75 in So what does our next kit look like?
I’m a svelte 12 1/2 stone, moobs and belly reasonably under control, 34 inch waist although my work trousers do have that elasticated thing in the waist band for comfort when sitting in boring meetings.

That assumes that those who boo the players actually think before they do it... and actually know anything about Marxism or any other political philosophy for that matter!

I’m enjoying a lovely session ale from Burning Soul after a very tiring day with the kids at Drayton Manor. I’ve earned this!

Can I just check that some people are booing when players are taking the knee because it's a Marxist initiative?
So we boo our own players because we think that they are supporting Marxism? The multi millionaire players on lucrative contracts worth thousands, or tens of thousands a week, are promoting Marxism and presumably communism by default?
Before anyone complains about politics, surely this is more comedy than politics?

Oops, pressed send too soon. Sadly I think there will be booing at Pride Park and many other grounds. Some of our support have history when it comes to racially insensitive chanting. Leicester away when we played them in the cup reply was just embarrassing, chants of Engerland mocking their diverse fanbase and worse, the small town in Aisa song. West Brom away the last time we played them a group behind us were ejected for hurling racist abuse at a group of Albion fans in the section next to the away end. Can't imagine any of that lot contemplating left wing political theory before they react..

I’ll be going. Not overly concerned about COVID. However, having seen the last two England games I am concerned about the booing of players who take the knee. If it happens at PP I, along with my son and other friends will be leaving and not coming back anytime soon. I am a ST holder and travel 180 miles there and back on match days and follow away when I can. I am also a person of colour, and the booing is something neither myself and my son will put up with. The excuse that the booing is against Marxism is laughable.

I was in my teens when I noticed a preponderance of feminine beauty in Nottingham!
Years later I heard a poem which ended with the lines...
"Nottingham for pretty girls
And Burton for fine ale!"
Maybe the Trent has a lot to answer for!

I like Leeds too. Should have put that on my list too. Great for beer/pubs.

With travel potentially on the horizon, in this country at least, what are your favourite UK cities? No particular order and feel free to include your own place of residence. For me:
Birmingham
Bristol
Brighton
Sheffield
Nottingham (I'm aware that choice may upset some of you..)

Each to their own. Love Brum. Lived in the area for nearly 30 years. Best UK city in my humble opinion. Grew up near Nottingham and also think it's an ace place. Different strokes etc ?

Birmingham, York and Bristol for great pubs in a City centre.
Bournemouth for beach in a city.
London for culture and eating.
Edinburgh for the buildings.
Belfast for the scenery and the locals.

Fair enough. I've had totally different experiences of both places and stand by my opinions. Out of interest, where do you live now, if that's not too personal a question?

I would never have dreamed of it I don't think had I not worked over there.
Its obviously not as touristy as Dublin but I find it far more laid back and cheaper. Lots of Irish bars with live music, good restaurants, plus take in some of the countryside.
lots of interesting things to see relating to the troubles too.
