Something to be said for ffp to be based on cash accounts rather than accrual accounts, keep a watch on debts, cash at bank, etc.?

A nice collection of DCFC legends that I have got to sign of the players on our travels, some great names here, it has been a real privilege to sit down with them with my Dad and son and talk about their memories of Derby County and the Baseball Ground, never again will we see such talent playing for our football team.
Hector, Durban, McGovern, Powell, Todd, George, Gemmill, Carlin, Boulton, Daniel, Webster, Nish, Walker, O’Hare, Davies, Wignall, McFarland, Hinton.
also Clough, McKay, Hennessy,

Suggests you could buy Derby for £45m by covering debts £40m and payment to MM £5m. That includes PP. A good deal for someone.

I'm not a master of finance by any means but using the club's own assets to free up cash to enable the deal strikes me as a particularly leveraged form of 'buy out'. This might be more palatable news if we had any idea who the actual backers are and an estimate of their net worth or a semblance of a plan for the club but we have neither. So, either there are secret backers (itself a problem) or he's literally refinancing the stadium to make this happen.. personally, if this article is true I'm not comfortable with this in the slightest and it stinks of how chancers buy football clubs.

I used to live a couple streets over from the vetch as a student. Too young to have seen it in its "hey day" sadly. It made the BBG look like Wembley as far as I can tell ?

Fantastic away day and it was good to poop United's premiership party, although I don't think they were too bothered about little old Derby turning them over. I remember sitting near Andy Oakes who was on crutches and that lovely winning feeling standing at the station with all the other beaming rams fans. One day I'll feel like that again.

Down in Cornwall visiting my parents...after Christie had scored I got so nervous I had to go for a walk, so chuffed to come back for the result and hear we had held on. I think Manure had the trophy presentation after the game...

27th April 1946. Wembley Stadium. That London.
75 years ago today...
With just 5 minutes to go, Bert Turner scored an OG, but a minute later, scored again at the right end, to ensure extra time, whereupon Derby turned on the screws, and absolutely battered Charlton, with a goal from Peter Doherty, and two from Jack Stamps.
Finally... at the fourth time of asking..., Derby County had finally got their hands on this little beauty.
Happy 75th anniversary, everyone!

Yes I went to that one with my dad. Seem to remember the score flattered us a bit, we were under pressure in the second half and Osman played really well...

Remember this game well as the score was so unexpected and it was a good first match to take my soon wife to be. Sadly she has had to experience many disappointments since (in a football sense I should add), but such is the life of a Derby fan.
