Fairly routine win for India tonight down the county ground. We struggled to find the boundaries against their bowling attack. Apart from Du Plooy who hit 2 in a row but then got bowled out trying a ramp shot. Cartwright looked decent as well until Guest ran him out.

More importantly though, defeat for Northants and Yorkshire mean we have qualified for the T20 quarterfinals with a game to spare and even have a chance at a home QF with a win on Sunday ?

You had me confused, how could Derbys play India when England were in the Test, turns out India fielding two teams today...

And I think that David Clowes' personal wealth is probably similar to to the value of CD Ltd. on top. But he is still wise enough to want to spread his risk on DCFC with others, unlike Mel Morris.

Could work well in the future with a Chairman and a few other shareholders, represented on the board with maybe others, and perhaps supporter reps in due course, esp if a group of supporters bought a tranche of shares.

I can't find any of these updates on companies house - the £59m must relate to the bid/funding of the club though?

    See under Gellaw Newco 202.

There is a figure of £81m in the accounts, then the £59m, something about non cash, maybe the cash is the difference, ie, £22m paid for PP

I hope that David Clowes retains ownership of the stadium and also has at least a share in the ownership of the football club. If that is to be the case the ground would be rent free. He is a lifelong supporter and I am very confident that his ownership of the stadium will be conducted alongside the best interests of the football club. The problems caused by the separation of the stadium from the club has caused us all some anxiety during the administration process and I never want to go through those worries again.

Agree. Picturing how that might happen. DCl owns PP, transfers to DC for say £20m of shares. Another party also buys into DC for say £20m to clear debts, etc. So DCl and a n other each own say 50% of DC, including PP.

Apparently he's "on the look out for potential partners to give the club the best chance of competing next season", nothing to do with completing the initial deal to buy the club.

My ideal would be for Clowes to complete the deal ASAP then sell a % to the Appleby Group who will help with the running of the club.

Agree with that but need to get PP back on DC balance sheet/ownership at some stage.

Clowes has been smart here, he has loaned the club some money and owns the stadium so the other bidders have to deal with him now in some capacity. He has manoeuvred himself in to a position where him owning the club now just makes a lot more sense than any others.

I reckon we might see him taking over the club alongside someone like Appleby to pull in some additional investment. Less risky for Appleby and whoever he is convincing to part with some cash as well and if they can share the burden we might be able to cobble enough cash together to avoid a points deduction.

All of that is entirely speculation on my part, but seems to make sense.

Didn't Clowes first get involved to buy PP for Kirchner to lease/rent off him, so bringing in someone else to help with funding wouldn't be a surprise, if he can find someone he can work with.

Forgive me. It's s late and I'm just catching up...

So after it looking like a head to head battle between MA and AA...

Mr Clowes has emerged from the wings as, reportedly being the 'fan' that was prepared to facilitate the CK bid by buying the ground - ergo completing the deal....

... To upscaling his offer to buy the club as a whole?

... And being the frontrunner as the best bid?

    Is that where we're at?

    Please, someone summarise for me.

And if the answers to my questions are all yes - could he/we not be usurped by better offers from MA/AA in the coming days?

How much is Clowes worth? It it a business deal or a fan deal?

Does he have any wonga spare for future investment - or is it a wealthy fan clearing our debt, with a view to us become self-sufficient after him saving us?

    Sorry for all my questions.

    Just read n/w £252m in 2018.

I seem to recall that in the negotiations they were valuing the club at £50m in the Championship and £100m in the Premier. This was just four months after the QPR defeat at Wembley. We were fancied for the top two and they agreed a price halfway between the two figures at about £75m.

Assume the £75m was the club including PP, reading current offer could be around £50m for club plus stadium, albeit lower down the Leagues.

100% agree and that’s my point, you look at the belief and feel good factor on the pitch this season…it gives players confidence and belief.

If Rooney walked earlier this season, would we have seen half the youngster come on like they have this year? He added so much value to us this year.

He added so much this year, yes. Not convinced he'd be at one with say Ashley/Charnley, they may prefer their own man, or may go with him for his final contract year, we'll see...
