rammieib got a reaction from Waghorny in Ball Retrieval Team aka Ball Boys
Sorry, I know I’ve brought this up before but I have a real issue here. Half way through this season they moved them onto the inside of the advertising boards - great - a sensible move employed by a number of clubs in the country.
Today all of a sudden they’re back on the wrong side. Most of them are scared petrified just to climb over to get a ball. How many times today was Wildsmith wasting time fetching a ball or a ball just gets knocked out of play and just keeps trundling down the side of the pitch.
Sorry but we, like any football club should be employment every tactic to get a 1% improvement. We want to win our home games - get the ball back into play as soon as possible, so get the ball to our players when it’s a Derby ball immediately!
Every now and then I am bewildered by decisions made by the club.

My grandson is sometimes a ball boy for another local team and they use academy players and they have clear instructions what to do depending on the status of the match

I'm exceedingly impressed with how you gave your opinion on the subject matter, whilst not actually commenting on said subject.
That's clevershitt, bro! 👀

Ok, I was a bit harsh. Fair play to them, and if my grandson ever becomes a DCC ball boy (person) I’ll be very proud.
When he’s 15.
Why are we using virtually toddlers to do the job?

I thought you were going to suggest we should just call them spectators. 😀

I blame the club here 100%, not any 8-10 year olds.
We should 100% be asking 13-16 year olds to do this… why… because they’ll have a higher intelligence level and confidence nature about them. They’ll see what’s happening quickly and if we actually worked with them properly I would be sure it can lead to 1-2 extra goals a season.
I honestly don’t understand why all teams don’t take quick free kicks/throw ins. When the whistle goes, you momentarily switch off - it’s the best chance to unhinge an opposition defence. Granted - we’re not blessed with pace at the top of the pitch but regardless - whilst we wait five minutes to take a set piece, the opposition get organised.
See video below - perfectly example.

Maybe because the opportunity to take a quicker throw in is lost by the tardy ball retrieval.

rammieib got a reaction from G STAR RAM in January Reinforcements
Why are people desperate for a 34-year old Dwight Gayle with 8 goals (from 99 appearances!!!) in the last five years to his name?
I'm happy to just wait for Washington to get back fit or bring Brown back when we can.
If we have to put NML or TB up there and scrap out wins, then fine.

rammieib reacted to Ram@Lincoln in Rotherham first team analyst joins
Having met him with family when he was a young boy, all I can say is that James is a lovely lad. He's a huge Derby supporter along with his family. He's put a lot of effort and sacrifice into making forging his career in football so far, and to get what would be a dream job is great to see. Sure he's joined from Rotherham but don't let that discredit his talents in the role. He's now back home with his club.
Hopefully James sticks around longer than his predecessor who only joined last January from Rotherham. Carl Edwards has now packed his bags and left for New Zealand. https://www.friendsoffootballnz.com/2023/12/08/top-analyst-to-return-to-new-zealand-for-director-of-football-role-at-papamoa/

Believe he’s a Derby born and a fan by all accounts.
His dad is Simon Hare, a journo for the BBC.

I'm happy with CBT. The player from Cardiff looks a good prospect. Really wanted Moxon.
She got me with the hammer.

You're a good egg Rammie, but you've not said 'yes' to a player in a decade. Might you be stuck in default mode?
Maybe you just need switching on and off again, or perhaps your fairer half could try hitting you with a hammer.

You’d say no based on that output in recent years…
