taffyram reacted to SSD in Updated Rams manager's win percentages
Paul Warne gaining his wins in the 3rd division where as others around him played 1st or 2nd division teams. If he was managing the team in the league above I would understand it. But when you're not beat Stevenage and Cheltenham then it does throw these kind of stats into question.

taffyram reacted to MackworthRamIsGod in 3 wins
I am hoping the last game was a big wake up call to the players and Paul and we see the start of something new tonight.
Before Saturday, I had hoped for at least 2 wins and 2 draws from the following 4 games, 3 wins and a loss more than acceptable. Well, we have our loss, so now I want to see 3 wins.
There simply has to be a reaction tonight, no nerves, no caution, just go for it and show us all why you were chosen to represent, or put on the shirt of Derby!!
Win games, play good football and us moaners can start moaning about the price of a pint again!
Season starts tonight.......

He’s put himself in this position with his overseeing of recruitment. Both Pompey and Oxford had big squad turnovers. They went for younger players wanting to work their way up through the divisions. We went for the tried and tested dross that has got us nowhere in the last 10 years. The signings of Washington, Waghorn and Bradley could have probably got us x 5 players wanting to put their all in for a massive club!

A massive overreaction. Our home form will save us👀

I'm usually glass half full. I don't like to see managers sacked. It'll take a string of poor results for me to decide he has to go. It hasn't got that bad yet but it's simply not good enough.

If our budget for next season was £2mil, hypothetically, then I’d rather spend £1.5m of that getting rid of Warne & have a new bloke with 500k, rather than Warne with £2mil.
The season isn’t a write off, we can still easily make the top 6. I think that only happens if he goes.

I 100% agree. It costs an absolute fortune these days to follow a football team around the country. The club IS the fans. We'll be here after Warne, after Clowes. Imagine thinking they shouldn't be allowed to vent their frustrations. These supporters are making a massive sacrifice to follow the team around the country.
It's still an absolute shame that things are as bad as they are. Obviously nobody wants things to be the way they are now.

When they come out and front up but the manager doesn't, what do you feel?
-
taffyram reacted to Birdyabroad in Warne Out Out
I feel for the fans, I really do.
It’s a stupid amount of money to travel to away games nowadays, you’d expect a level of competence above what we’re giving as a MINIMUM.
I wasn’t there, but followed Radio Derby and the fan chatter on here and it sounds like we couldn’t make 3 passes for the majority of the match 🤷♂️ what the hell is that about?
The ONLY crumb of comfort is that a new manager CAN turn things around very quickly, I again think of Mac when he took over from Clough Jnr.
But, Clowes needs to act and we need to get the RIGHT man, and that’s the million-dollar question, who is right for Derby right now 🤷♂️
ps, sorry for the capitals, don’t mean to shout, I’ve let football ruin my weekend, AGAIN!! 😞

There’s been plenty of polls and a few ‘Warne Out’ comments, but thought I’d start the definitive ‘Warne Out Out’ post, which as fans of a particular Sarf London comedian means ‘properly out!’
No messing, I was on his side at first, but am tired of the utter banality of our football; mid table mediocrity and I don’t care what he did at Rotherham.
Please can we bring back some McLaren-esque footy, something to actually ‘entertain’ the fans? I’m sure I read somewhere that football should be entertaining 🤷♂️

taffyram reacted to 8Leeds in What are your long term realistic ambitions for DCFC?
Rebuild the youth teams and have a path way to the first team. All of them following a system that allows for easy transition through the ranks.
Back in the championship with a progressive style of football that see’s us steadily improving year on year.
Smart recruitment, buying players that suit the system, at the right age with potential for resale.
Should we ever change manager, bring in one that suits the system we’re trying to apply rather than constantly rebuilding to suit the managers style.

A lot on here are talking expectation and not ambition.
Our ambition has to be playing in the top division of English football. Being sustainable and competitive in that division, with a sprinkling of academy players in the team.
Anyone who wants less than that, then frankly I don't know why you bother.

Established in the Championship and building a young team again like we did under Nigel Clough.

Why do you think Clough is such a great manager.
He has had one league promotion with Burton and then took them down again.
He was sacked by us and Sheffield Utd.
He is in his fourth season in League Two with Mansfield.
Is it because his name is Clough, if not please explain.

taffyram reacted to nottingram in Wayne Rooney
No issue at all that he left to be fair, I can imagine that that year or so was horribly draining and what he’s done since is completely up to him. And overall I think he did a decent job albeit the circumstances are not repeatable in any way so I’ve no idea whether it makes him a decent manager.
But the links between Kirchner, Cook, his agent and him can hardly be ignored and it is a huge slice of luck we didn’t end up too involved in that. Seems like Cook is in his pocket somewhat and thank god that is Birminghams issue.

taffyram reacted to Day in Wayne Rooney
Where I'm at is really simple, I have nothing but appreciation for Rooney and wish him well on a personal level in his managerial career wherever that takes him.
He will always be a part of our story and will be forever grateful for his efforts whilst the club was on the brink.

taffyram reacted to TheRamOfSwad in Why are we so grumpy
It's probably since the record Premier league season so a good 15 years! Derby has had some horrible luck and not much to cheer about.
Going from one manager to the next endless players coming and going we have only had success (only in short moments) and maybe the other teams of our stature (and below) and teams near us like Lesta/Forest have had good success
The fans can only take so much but we stand by and support regardless
The game being a money game, you need to be funded to hit the Premier league... if we beat Villa may all of our fortunes been different. Cause the prem works differently we probably wouldn't have had any points deduction and also would have written off a lot of debt
We just want something to be proud of like any fan does
One day.... Derby County will rise up again 🐏

100% undermined Cocu. His performances on the pitch near the end were awful.

If the prospective owner he brought to the table had somehow found some cash, we would either be bust or have Rooney’s agent running the club by now.
