Really good to see us win and get a clean sheet. It sounded like the first half was quite poor, Eric Steele on the radio was far from impressed with what he saw. But from the 60th minute, it sounded like we got it together and exploited the gaps left by Burton. I have seen the goals, not the other highlights, but there looked to be some good play and pressing for the 2nd and 3rd. Tuesday and Saturday may tell us more about where we can expect to be. Hopefully, we build on this result and get two results at home now.

I don't think that it particularly matters, as attendance does not necessarily indicate support levels. I'm quite critical of Warne and went to 20 games last season (4 away 15 home), but even if I happened to watch every one of those games on Ramstv, my critiques would still be just as valid, and I'd still support the club in the same way.
I'd say I care about the club more now and am more dedicated than I was when I was a season ticket holder the year before I left for university. I've now roped my partner into going to games as well, and if we stay together, I'm sure we'll be a rams family.

On the signings, Warne was asked about this on the call-in session he did. He got very prickly with 1 caller who basically asked why we'd not signed any strikers besides Washington. He gave a couple of lame excuses about getting ones in who could play in front of 30,000 and were good characters for the team. This ignores the fact that we've hardly brought in players who've been at big clubs in the past.
Clearly we need another striker and some mobility in midfield. Whatever the reasons, questions have to be asked about why at this level, where we are a big fish, we can't get the players we actually need.

Well that's just plain ridiculous. Some games we should win by four or five.

Having thought about it for a few days I think of course it's too early to tell about Warne and this season but the pressure is clearly already mounting. I've been a little concerned about Warne not thinking this job is different to Rotherham in interviews he's given. The job is clearly different, and the level of expectation with the amount of fans is significantly different. I'm not quite sure he has wised up to this!

Personally, I don't like his brand of football and think it's too one-dimensional. It's quite easy to defend against and we don't really have the players to execute it properly. He seems stubborn and unwilling to change which is a problem for any manager.  I'm also not impressed by the forward signings and re-signing Waghorn off the back of a testimonial kind of stinks as either terrible preparation and/or execution.
I think if after 10-15 games we're not in the top 6 DC needs to have real words with Warne about his performance. We've been on a downward trend for a while now and it's currently showing no sign of abating, if anything we are getting worse, not better. A big concern though must be how costly it'd be to get rid of Warne and the coaching team... are we even in a position where we can afford to buy him out?

Burton are like Leicester when we play them.... They're really amped up for it, whereas we just aren't. Inevitably, this results in a win or draw for Burton and we look quite poor. But you'd think the players would be determined to set this start right and come out with a lot more gusto so it's a tough one to call.

We're not a fickle fan base, and I would suggest there is absolutely 0 evidence for it. To average over 27,000 in the third tier of English football the year after we almost went bust and got relegated shows hardcore dedicated support. In my time as a derby fan (2001-2002, I started going), I've seen one promotion, 3 relegations and 2 administrations... I've literally seen more administrations than promotions at this club. We've had the lowest points total in the top flight history, Paul Jewell signing every man and his dog, tango Phil Brown playing Dean Holdsworth upfront, and that's just for starters....
Let's be honest there has been little to no success, chronic underachievement, and too many false dawns to count. Yet, we all still turn up in large numbers, pumping money into the club even in difficult economic times and try to maintain the fading hope that this is our year. People are frustrated because they are passionate and care, leading to some, at times, making reactionary statements. I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with this tbh.

I've had the displeasure of sitting in a fair few home ends.  The grief handed out by some, most namely  Everton, West Ham and the self proclaimed best fans on the planet Newcastle is insane.  Our fan base is Jesus resurrected in comparison.

Thought the snippet of Warne I heard post Blackpool sounded 'similar' to Brown in the way he couldn't handle pressure...
