This used to wind me up too.  To the point where I even went to a psychiatrist to calm me down a bit!
We talked it through.  I opened up to him, and explained why it riled me so much.
He then patted me on the head, gave me a big hug, and said "There, Their, They're, Your all better now".

Is he going to get more physical games than that this season? Yet he ate them for breakfast. Apparently radio Derby reeled out a stat that he won 80% of ball and did something with it eg. Retained possession or won a free kick. 
We lost control of the game when he went off. No that doesn’t then say that shows the lack of quality in our squad, more he is extremely effective at what he does. He is a  Chris Wilder type of signing. He’s a good character and with players like him we have enough to turn this around.

People who use “disinterested” when they mean “uninterested”. The two do not mean the same thing.
Disinterested means impartial or unbiased. 
But to confuse matters thanks to the vagaries of the English language the noun of “Disinterested” is “disinterestedness” while the noun of “uninterested” is “disinterest”.

No I just think people hear it said and it catches on subconsciously. It’s not used as means of making time to think what to say because there’s no gap between “so” and the statement. You hear it a lot in interviews on tv and radio. It’s a fairly recent phenomenon. Last 5 years?

and interestingly your first line re “umm”. Apparently older people like me tend to say “er” and younger people tend to say “um”. 
Always found language and the changes in meanings and pronunciation fascinating

I’ve mentioned it before but it really annoys me when people say that fairly recent thing of saying “so” in response to a question. What brought it to mind was a contestant on The Chase. When asked what he did for a living he said  “ So, I’m a history student”. And what are your hobbies? “So, I like football and hang gliding”. And if you won the money what would you do with it? “So, I’d go round the world”.       Grrrrrrrr

Absolutely this. Also people who misuse 'was' and 'were', as in "we was going to the shops". Really irritating.
