  1. Though born in Greenwich, his folks are Gambian. Worked in Banjul a lot. Football mad. Hope he does really well. Him and CBT might galvanise is
  2. And what did happen to his eyebrows
  3. I would have assumed that any reasonably intelligent person would know that my post references the position at the end of the season. Perhaps not though
  4. Well, I cope by hoping desperately that we can somehow, despite playing really badly, haul ourselves into the play offs
  5. Worst when you can’t find the stairs and then remember you live in a bungalow
  6. Agree, and should be Barker’s and Corbett’s. And should have been a full stop after £5 and a new sentence starting My. There’s nothing like spoiling a good joke 🤭
  7. Agree. I think there has been a new rule brought in during the last few years, whereby a goalkeeper when either catching a shot or collecting a back pass, has to throw himself full length on the pitch. 🤨
  8. Agree in part but remember that “gotten” is good old English, meaning a recent acquisition such as “I’ve got a car“ ( I have or own a car) and “I’ve gotten a car” (I’ve just bought a car). Lost in UK now but still there in “forgotten”. “Guys” is another. Dropped out of use over here in the late 1700s but has made a comeback. The single digit gesture is Italian in origin. Right, English lesson over, back on your heads
  9. I would never regard this as a Derby. Too different in size to be rivals. Manure v Salford wouldn’t be a Derby for me either
  10. Was there yesterday. Used to be part of Cambridgeshire and the licensee had to go to Ely to renew the licence, but that was a very, very long time ago. Nice old pub near the Hat and Tun, another good ‘un
  11. It’s been reported in this thread that he was injured in training on Friday
  12. This thread has somehow morphed from CBT to Chips and peas, especially that awful food of the devil, mushy peas (perhaps I’ve lived in London too long, changed my taste buds, and I’ve become nesh)
  13. You feel old! My first ever Derby game was in the early 1950s to see Stan Mathews at the BBG!
  14. I thought Peterborough edged it. They looked really sharp going forward and were the best team I’ve seen so far. A deserved win.
  15. Well West Han seem to do well with “I’m forever blowing bubbles” !!!
  16. So that’s twice knightly…. I’ll get me coat
  17. London based fans will be interested to know that the Rams Supporters London branch will be meeting at the Redwood Bar in London Bridge station to watch the match. Games against Fleetwood and Burton should be back at the usual venue the Stage Door near Waterloo
  18. Let’s do all the way. …….or a lose
  19. It may be that the two bottles of Malbec aren’t helping, but I don’t get it, hic!
