I’m 78 this year and retired in 2011. I worked on British Aid projects in developing countries mainly in Africa but I’ve carried on doing odd bits since. But only one visit a year now, the whole airport experience can get a bit much and 2 weeks in, say, Nigeria, is enough for me now.

This isn’t a new rule. It’s been there for some time and all clubs including Gateshead were aware. Some clubs have a 10 year lease which runs out in the next few years such as Oxford where the lease runs out in 2026 so they need a new lease or new ground for the 26/27 season

Thinking back, we’ve probably had only about 6 games when we’ve played really well and looked like promotion hopefuls. The rest of the games we have, though won, looked quite poor with just flashes of excellence. With our injuries piling up, it’s so difficult to be optimistic. Where’s B4 when you need him………

All these stats leave me cold. If they win and we draw and the third team lose and the second win etc etc. If my aunt had b******* she’d be my uncle etc. If we could predict accurately we would all be millionaires. Just take it a game at a time

I’ve never understood this “deserve to win” phrase that keeps cropping up. The only team that deserves to win is the one which scores the most goals. Simple as that

Semantics. How many people understand the difference between “will” and “should” or “could”. Yes I know they ought to but they don’t. However, given the dwindling number of tickets available on official announcements, it seems perfectly reasonable to make the assumption that this would be a record attendance. In fact, I, as a Grammar Nazi, would have said “it looks like it will be....” rather than “could”
