Hmm. Under SM1, we had exciting, attacking football but we were found out and teams worked out how to nullify us. We didn’t change, just carried on and started losing and drawing more. We need to change tactics according to the opposition.

I just hope that fans aren’t bigging Gayle up too much and expecting a hat trick on his debut. I remember him at Newcastle but we are not getting that Gayle. We are getting a player several years older but I feel he’ll do well given a few matches.

Quite, which is why statistics can be read or used in different ways

True but a shot on target could be direct to the keeper’s arms or a fluffed one whereas shots not on target could have missed by a whisker

If you mean the model that uses historical information from thousands of shots with similar characteristics to estimate the likelihood of a goal on a scale between 0 and 1? Haven’t a clue
