They forced the rule change for a reason. That's my only logic and until I see evidence to the contrary I'm afraid that is what I fear.

The way I see that is this:
    1. The max MM can lose is £20m. That applies if he either gives the Stadium away to effect a sale of the club, or, in the event of liquidation he settles the loan but retains ownership of the "assett"
    2. HMRC forced a rule change to stop Football Clubs using administration to avoid/reduce tax bills. I genuinely believe they will stick it out for either a bigger settlement than 25% or be prepared to forego a max £7.5m to drive home a message to the Football World.
    3. I cannot imagine that MSD secured a £20m loan against an asset that would not have sufficient residual value in the worst case scenario. They surely are not that niaive? I am convinced they would have done due diligence and have a back up plan for redevelopment or similar.
    4. If the preferential creditors cannot be satisfied that becomes an inevitable fact.
    5. EFL will quite rightly lay the blame at mismanagement by the clubs owner and Directors.
    6. Within a short space of time there will only be Derby County fans and Forest Fans that will truly miss DCFC in the long term. Unfortunately DCFC do not have the financial necessity to the EFL that Rangers did to the SFA.

The problem with this is that they will all play the blame game while the club disappears into oblivion- not sure any of the people involved has the balls to do what's needed to find a solution - and Q have proven themselves to be completely ineffective.....
The club becomes less attractive by the day as we slip towards relegation and the players get nearer to the end of their contracts. I'm genuinely concerned that we are no longer saleable - there's simply too much cost and too little value....

You misunderstand ‘throwing cash around’, I’m saying essentially throwing money in to the club to subside running costs. We need a someone to bring I I a sustainable strategy. Not someone who has run it like Mel has in the hope of bringing in Prem money.

We'd be under a punitive "business plan" regardless as a consequence of being in administration, if we exit administration in such a way as to incur a points deduction that business plan is going to be even more restrictive (and punitive).

If we survive and take a hit with a 15 point deduction there will be no chance of new owners throwing the cash around, the EFL will put a ceiling on the salaries we can offer. They will also want an undertaking that the club will be sustainable for the next couple of years at least as they won't want the club to finish up in this position again, neither would the administrators for that matter.

Tombo. Two reasonable questions to ask of you.
    1) How might you get Mike Ashley or any PB for that matter to pay say £50m for something they only value at say £35m.
    2) How might you persuade Mel Morris to sell the Stadium to the new owner for say £5m rather than the £20m+ he is allegedly holding out for?
If you can give me satisfactory answers to those questions, I too will lose some faith in Quantuma too. But for now, I still think Q are in an impossible position because of Morris. No one willing to pay anything much more than £30/35m, and wanting the stadium included for that, and Morris not budging for whatever his reasons are. I don't like speculation. but I think his reasons are that he doesnt want either Ashley or Appleby Group paying what he thinks at an undervalue (doing him over if you like). Morris will take this to the wall imo, and I have always thought that. Ultimately though, and I am not sure when, I think he will give, because otherwise liquidation will all be on his head (not Quantuma).

If, and i think it's a big if, MM does take back control of the club i can see HMRC demanding all the amount due, they will not be put in a position where the previous owner gets away with not paying the taxes owed. They may look at it as being conned.

    Yep 100% agree.
You explained it better than my half awake ramble!
It seems interested parties value the whole package at c£30m whereas at the moment it needs c£50m
I don`t see the creditors shifting, I don`t see the bidders shifting. Regardless of what we think, the Club has a maximum value as a "Business" and we have to detach "emotional value" from the situation, because it appears that there is no one in the frame that shares that emotion with the cash reserves to back it up.

Personally, I think people are over complicating this.
Reading between the lines of the statement from Quantuma, and the EFL reminder re Football Creditors, it appears very simple to me that as of last night there is not a bid on the table that meets the financial threshold to be put forward.
Whatever the reasons behind that are, we can only guess. I`ve said it before and still believe HMRC have a massive hand in this. When Football Creditors are now believed to be in the £4-6m bracket, why does that need to be reinforced when bids of c£30m have been mentioned?
It just suggests to me that there is insufficient allocation in those bids for Football Creditors?
You can add the Stadium issue on top of that, because it seems that no party currently sees the Club having a value of c£50m,  and a deal at c£30m without a stadium, no squad, in L1 with reduced income and a probability of starting next season on -15 points, makes no business sense whatsoever.
I do not like that statement one bit. Maybe I`m just a glass half empty type, but it reads like it`s preparing us for bad news.

I have been convinced for months now that he will leave in the summer regardless of what happens with survival and the takeover. Whatever the outcome he has stuck by us through the worst period for the club in a generation, if he decided he's had enough in the summer I wouldn't blame him at all. Plenty of other managers would have walked months ago.

My friend has not long left of his life, He has terminal cancer and has maybe only weeks to live.  He had his first season ticket when he came out of the army in the mid fifties, and has had it every season since, and then when he married in 1963 his wife had one too, they never missed a home match, but then covid came along and they have not been again. We have a mutual friend who lives in the USA he is in the UK this week end and is taking my friend to what is likely to be his last match ever. I'm just hoping if there are any protests it wont affect the match. So please spare a thought or a prayer if your so minded on Saturday. I wont say his name as he hated social media as much as he loved the Rams. So UP THE RAMS  P will be thinking of you.

Whatever happens in the coming days and weeks let’s make sure as a fanbase we maintain our dignity. Along with both the playing and non-playing staff the unity in face of adversity has been the standout example to those bickering their way through this administration circus.???

Mel wants to keep the stadium and collect rent with a view to selling it to clear his £22m debt at some point in the future.
That way  he keeps his hand in at DCFC as landlord without honouring his tax and other debts.
It also allows him to choose the PB to achieve his aims. for him that isn’t MA or the Binnies etc. so he made sure they were rejected.

Why are they using the medium of public message to make it clear to investors the football creditors must be cleared.  What parties are delaying and undermining.  What type of deflecting steaming poo is this.  Basically, the bids are well short .

Nothing that is said on this thread will help move forward the work that is taking place. No protests will help only hinder progress. However hard it may be it just needs to be left to those that are working on this and be patient. The finances of the club are complicated and we are in a mess so it will take time to be sorted out.

How *very* generous of Morris to allow the stadium to be sold at a price that will pay off his debt! Think how much he's saved by not keeping paying for the Club until a buyer was found!

The Club leaving Pride Park would be a mistake we would rue for the next 20 years.
I have no problem it being leased/rented. Owning the stadium is fairly secondary IMO opinion as long as it is our "home" and we have legal protections over being always able to play the
