I dunno, I think some of it is trying to hard because he really doesn't want to have that ferrari no2 straitjacket thrust upon him and Leclerc is a bloody hard match, and, the new cars are different to drive and it's responding how he expects. It's bit like Riciarrdo last year, good drvier but really can't get the best out the car.

I think Sainz will get up to near Leclerc's level again, but by the time he does the racing gods will have have put that big "2" on his hat.

I could be wrong though, I often am.

I hope he gets to grips with it soon. Seems like one of the nicest guys in the sport and we know he's better than this

  2. No surprises. Tyson lighter and Whyte heavier than previous fight.

Obviously Whyte not as vulnerable as Wilder at being manhandled.

Good fight but I just see Fury winning every round unless he's dropped. He's gonna be ramming that jab home during all the quiet spells and scoring consistently. Whyte's response to being hurt or under pressure is to come out swinging. So he'll either knock Fury down or more likely take some heavier shots in return.

I don't think he stops Fury. I think he gets a prolonged beating before tiredness + careless aggression = late KO victory for Fury

2 good geezers, both Brits, 94k at Wembley, World title stays in UK... enjoy!

As an extremely casual boxing fan (quarter-fan is probably more accurate), is it me or has there been almost no hype surrounding this fight?

Yeah, I think it will sell well but...

Dillian Whyte isn't happy with his cut. Also he's matchroom (Eddie Hearn) so he's got no reason to help promote it. So he hasn't. Personally I think he's made a mistake.

Top Rank (Bob Arum) I don't think seem interested in bringing Fury back to UK. US doesn't have a headliner heavyweight really

Frank Warren is terrible. The undercard is abysmal.

  4. Agree with all that. I had Canelo winning the 2nd fight and I don't think GGG stands more chance than anyone else at middleweight in a third fight. He's been a truly fearsome fighter but it can't last forever. Wish he'd had chance to batter BJS and Eubank Jnr a few years back.

He didn’t complain when he sneaked six tenths out of Leclerc’s lead under the virtual safety car.

Hey!! That's just driving to the limits!

    He's young too!!

(There must be an age where behaving like Kevin and Perry becomes unacceptable. Any idea when he'll reach it?)

I'm sure he was just commenting on the timing of the safety car right after Perez made his pit stop, i mean it sucks, but that's racing.

Or was it the other drivers are also trying to win the race he was saying was unfair? "let us work on that for you" from the garage....

It was when he was crying about Leclerc. I just think he's so immature. Horner's gotta stop letting him stay up late.

After the excitment of a missile attack to remind everyone that Russia isn't the only country currently waging a pretty unpleasant war, there were discussions, and, after everyone was informed of the consequences of not racing, including "difficulties in leaving the country", the Human Rights Grand Prix is set to go ahead as planned.

Qualifying is at 5pm, race tomorrow at 6PM.

Any truth in the rumours that Horner reported the Missile to the FIA for breaking regulations?

  8. I wonder how, pointless I suppose, how a European military alliance that excludes Russia and America would be seen by those in power in Moscow and Washington

To me it feels like Europe has been swept up in this invisible war between the two nations.

You look at America's response to Russian influence in Vietnam and Cuba, Afghanistan and Korea etc etc

America and the Soviet Union have always opposed each other. This is nothing new.

Always hated how eager we are to jump in bed with America. Of course I'm not saying Russia would be any better. Long felt that Europe would be better off working together and in some ways against either of these two nations.

I dunno, guess we'll never know. But America and Russia have played war games for too long. You can surely see why an alliance with America is indeed a threat? I find it hard to believe anybody who has spent any time studying anything of the Cold War and paid interest to wars since WW2 will be not understand to some level how America having a military alliance surrounding Russia is a threat to their future

Now I get that people may see Russia has the eternal antagonist. Ok, that's fine. But it is what it is and even if you think that then do you think America has handled that threat well? Has it handled anything well? Cuba? Vietnam? Korea? The Middle East?

It's pure fantasy that an alliance could exist in Europe that doesn't include America or Russia. But I quite like fantasising about it

@Alpha  @BaaLocks just a question. My assumption is your are British citizens living in the UK (that could be wrong I know) based on your posts on this topic it seems your have a dislike of the West/NATO and their policies. So seriously would you rather the UK be stand alone, in NATO or in a Coalition with Russia or China or maybe the Middle East countries ?

Dream scenario for me is a United States of Europe without America.

And instead of calling Blair "sir" he should be called "that war criminal"

  10. Why can't people just grasp that a country that has...

Been in nearly 400 military conflicts

Been in conflict for over 90% of its existence

Has 750 military bases in 80 countries

Uses atomic bombs, Agent Orange, Napalm strikes

Waterboard a captive in 83 times in 1 month!! check out Abu Zubaydah... lovely read. Thinking of booking Guantanamo Bay for next year, myself.

Pumps billions of dollars into Israel to help it defend itself (grown a bit that place, hasn't it)

Chose to not publish drone strikes (of which there were over 2,000 in Trump's first 2 years but they probably were all landing on those goat feckers so ah well)

Armed rebellions, provided weapons and financed wars across the globe.

Engineered incidents/made false accusations to justify wars

Account for a sizable portion of the world's gun crimes

Had a President that threatened to "totally destroy" an enemy nation

Accidently kills thousands and thousands of civilians (but most of them are far away so they're not really real people)

... why can't people just grasp that this country is not aggressive. OK, so a few Muslim farmers get hit in the crossfire but understand that America only does this to protect our freedoms and the freedom of this poor citizen... oops, not you... this poor citizen here.

Is it really that hard to understand they're just trying to make the world a better place and there's no power to be gained from them.

Some may say that they're the Ying to Russia's Yang. But not me. I say this nation is entirely defensive and anybody who disagrees is obviously from the barbarians hordes to the East or just not as smart as I am.

Feck Putin too btw. Just in case somebody starts saying "you like dead Ukranian children" or some such nonsense.
