  1. I think it will be pretty easy work for Joshua. Dubois just hasn’t got enough in the toolbox. He’s coming off two big wins but let’s look at those wins

Hrgovic. Should have lost vs Zhang and was battering Dubois in the face until he lost his way. And he does have a tendency to look a bit disinterested when it’s not going his way. I’ve always thought him a bit lazy to be honest.

Miller. Miller is awful. Truly awful and is a punchbag. He’s a 20st+ blob that’s weighed down by cheeseburgers and has a body made to absorb punches. He walks forward throwing heavy handed slow shots that don’t have KO power unless you’re a muppet that stands there eating them. He’s where he is due to his big mouth. Dog turd.

Dubois has a solid jab, he can bang a bit and he’s a solid opponent for anyone. But he’s got nothing that AJ hasn’t seen before. The only risk in this is if Joshua decides to go for a shootout like after he knocked down Ruiz. But he’s better in every department so Dubois has a punchers chance and nothing more in my view

I'm looking forward to Cacace v Warrington. That should be a war and I hope the space raider gets smashed.
What’s the support fight? Buatsi v Hutchinson?

Might be a good event though. Saudi money meets UK atmosphere!

I reckon AJ within 5. Anyone going Dubois?

Plenty I agree with in there though in the interest of balance there is plenty on the left that I put on a par with the right🤷🏻‍♂️

That’s fair enough. I don’t see it myself but that’s probably down to my bias. So I’m not going to disagree too strongly with you mate

  3. Israel, AIPAC, Conservative Friends of Israel, Labour Friends of Israel and whatever other powerful lobbying groups that act on behalf of a racist, apartheid colonial state which openly defies international law, is protected under veto power by America (used half their veto’s in relation to Israel), tear up the rules created after WWII to protect us and speaks openly with genocidal intent about “Greater Israel”

Right now that is a bigger threat to our way of life and values. It makes us question our own values and the integrity of our leaders. Right wing organisations with leaders who are part of shady groups financing Israeli settlements are being pushed to the front and centre.

The biggest threat to our way of life comes from within and I’m absolutely sure the Russian bots are working overtime to make sure we are busy fighting each other.

If Putin has his eyes on anything west of Ukraine, which is highly debatable, then it won’t be any time soon before he can do anything about it. He’s headed for a Pyrrhic  victory. He’s pushed countries towards NATO and shown the complete incompetence of Russian military leadership.
It seems to me the more immediate threat to our way of life comes from within and our politicians who serve lobby groups and the wealthy. In terms of conflict I think more immediately the threat to the UK comes from what’s happening in the Middle East. The impact that’s having on our society and the chances of our biggest ally having to step in with direct force.

    Better working conditions? Seriously?

Yeah, seriously. And I’m typing this from a building site where every single person would say they’ll happily swap places with Rodri. (Although would die of heart attack with one training session)

The idea that you can’t complain or be unhappy about aspects of your life if there’s others in the world that are worse off is fecking stupid.
It’s what makes people bottle up and not seek support.

You work a 75 hour week? Only state pension to look forward to? Zero hour contract with basic sick pay? You don’t know how lucky you are! Said a 12 year old Indonesian factory worker.

Rodri is allowed to say he’s overworked. So are you.

  5. My instinct was to defend the players too, to be honest.
It’s a weird one because there’s always somebody worse off and that’s no reason to just put up and shut up. That’s been a really dangerous thought process in mental health.

Nobody should be afraid to speak up for better working conditions.

  6. I hate it when street circuits throw up good races. Just encourages more of them.

Vegas last year when everyone was like “Ha! All the haters said we wouldn’t have a good race”

As a hater, that was hard to take.
But I don’t know how anyone can defend Monaco. It’s barely watchable after you’ve seen qualifying. This year was where it was about how slow you could go without losing too much heat. That’s awful for spectators

I wonder why @Alph is no longer @Alpha? Why one day, did he think you know I might drop that ‘a’. Does make you really wonder that one?

It was shortened even before that.

I dropped the ‘a’ cus I thought it makes me come across as a pretentious tw@ and that should only be evident after my posts have been read, not before.

I’ve met you haven’t I? Must have been more than 10 years ago?

  8. Canelo v Berlanga was a lot better than you could have imagined.
The results was as expected and Canelo won easily on the cards but Berlanga showed up to fight and the rounds were heated and competitive.

You’re probably right about Canelo, @Comrade 86. I think he’s not really looking for anything too heavy from now on. As you said, can’t blame him as he’s done hard miles. Benavidez is chasing him, Bivol is a challenge that’s in front of him. But he’s not really paying them much attention. We might see him make the Crawford fight as he must surely back himself with the physical advantages.
As with pretty much all boxers, you don’t want to see them go past their best before date.

Probably not the filler tonight fella

Yep, still the filler. I just googled the last team to beat Liverpool at Anfield in the PL. It’s Leeds apparently. They were filler. You’re filler. Brentford, Palace, Bournemouth…. filler, filler, filler.
Try to think back to how you thought of the PL before you were in it. That’s what everyone else thinks now. It’s 15 punchbags for a handful of elite clubs that want to play in a European Super League because playing Forest and Wolves is just swatting flies

Occasionally the punchbag hits back before normal service is resumed. Sorry to burst your bubble. Your mate talked about being with the big boys with the big money. It’s deluded. You’re not in the club. Filler

Apparently, Aston Martin are making moves to tempt max Verstappen himself after hiring AN.

I'm highly amused by the idea of max being made to do "Lance Stroll will be world champion, for sure" media bits and being ordered to move over for Lance, given the crappy strategy each time etc etc.

Yes! What a dream team we could have. Fernando Alonso, an all time great, alongside a future legend Max Verstappen!! Lawrence, this would be brilliant.

Wait! Why is Fernando clearing his locker?

No problem. We're in the land of plenty up here.

If there even was an international-based add on you can just take it out of petty cash in the Prem.

You’re extras in a movie. That’s all anybody outside the elite is.

win 10 games per season, a -15 goal difference, spend fortunes on tickets, get 5 or 6 goal drubbings occasionally and target a point per game.

You're making up the numbers. Just so you don’t think I’m a jealous Derby fan, I contribute nothing to the Rams Talk/Transfer Talk section of the forum anymore. I’m here out of habit. Consider me pretty neutral and as a neutral I can tell you that your team is the filler on Match Of The Day when people fall asleep. This is an England thread. No boasting about a finishing with 35 points and a -20 goal difference is relevant here. Go dream of a narrow defeat at Anfield in which you play well and sing songs referencing a time when dinosaurs roamed the earth

  12. Thought it was quite impressive. Hard to tell against these opponents but it looked good especially missing key players. Just the intent was refreshing after the summer. I can’t imagine what more Carsley could have done? Looked like he’s doing exactly what Southgate critics asked for?

  13. I do love the little complex ironic breakdown of some sections of the media.

The same people (and I mean the exact same people) who talk about Keir “Stalin” and usually go around saying things like “it’s political correctness” and “you can’t say anything anymore without someone being offended” are now massively offended that a man born in Birmingham doesn’t want to sing the national anthem and there’s not enough flags on show.

What a wonderful web they’ve tangled themselves up in.

Allied to selling the sport to the Saudis, this should do wonders for boxing's wider profile 😂

Guy Ritchie came up with that video. He’s their Minister Of Justice now.

  15. You’d like to think you’d stick by your principals and also focus on developing as a player.
No disrespect to the wonderful suburbs of London and Manchester or the fine British weather and people but if somebody is willing to put a hell of lot more money up for living like a Hollywood star in the parts of Saudi Arabia you’d see on a billboard then suddenly the drive past moss side isn’t such a fond commute

I don’t think it’s hard to imagine why people say yes. Ruining your chances of being selected for your country is not guaranteed if you’re already on the fringes. But even if it did then that’s probably only going to hurt every 2 summers

It’s not like the majority of us follow our moral compass all the time. If we can deviate for an advantage then most of us would. I’d like to think I wouldn’t go rub shoulders with war criminals and human rights abusers but I’m sure for the right money I could at least have think about why it’s not my concern.
