I like the idea of a fixed percentage on any future sale, that cannot be bought out / traded etc., but I think it should go further and should include a fixed percentage of any loan fees.
I would imagine that the amount of money recouped by the big clubs through loan fees must be significant, and in many cases, the players are loaned out soon after being bought, so the input in terms of development etc. from the big clubs is minimal.
It's money for old rope, and the whole system stinks.

The EFL WILL PUBLISH THE RULES we will have to adhere to (with the threat of a suspended points penalty if we break them or break P&S rules again).  Once the embargo is lifted, we may be able to pay fees for players, bue these will be very low and capped by EFL.
The usual format of these rules (taken from the EFL website) will take the form of ...
There will be an agreed cap on Total Player Salary Costs of not more than £X Million in 2022-23, (possibly reducing to £Y Million in the following Season (e.g. as high earning Poles leave)), with a number of other conditions, including:
the Club will be permitted to have registered at any one time no more than 25 Permitted Players; the Club will not be permitted to pay or commit to pay any Transfer Fee, Compensation Fee or Loan Fee or any other form of payment (other than a sell on fee) in respect of the registration of any Player in excess of the level as agreed with the EFL; the average Salary of all new Contract Players registered from the date of this Agreement until 30 June 2024 (or 2025 depending on 2/3 year creditor agreement) will not exceed an average of the level as agreed with the EFL; the Salary of any new Contract Player registered from the date of this Agreement until 30 June 2024 (or 2025) will not exceed the level as agreed with the EFL; any contribution to fees paid to an Intermediary by the Club on the behalf of a Player will be limited to 3% of the Player’s Basic Gross Income (as defined in the FA Regulations on Working with Intermediaries); Bottom line is we will be run sustainably. No more overpriced crocked Poles or Buttercups. There are plenty of good released players out there this Summer. It's time we need to find and gel them into a team of fighters, not splurging millions on primadonnas.

I'm guessing there were many factors which led to Wayne's decision. When any of us leave a job there are many things to consider.
I think he has done this to help the club by relieving us of his wages. And also because he wants to catch up with his family. As well as being totally fed up with the situation.

Bring on next season and lets get back to normal on here

Just so glad we are nearly there with a decent new owner, no debt and no ‘Wayne Rooneys Derby County’ circus following us. It’s not going to be easy and I’m expecting a difficult season in League One where we probably won’t be up there challenging, but I still cannot wait for the normality of going to the games, speculating over the new kit/new signings  and the joy/despair of results! I bloody love this club - COYR!

Things move quickly when people are true to their word, put their money where their mouth is, dont play games and follow through with things they say they would do.
    Amazing that.
Whoever pulls on the shirt next season. Whoever is stood on the touchline. Whoever is paying the wages. They will be doing that for a club i thought would no longer exist.

You’re saying he’s planning to sell down some of the club shares, after he completes the purchase of 100% of the club ?
Seems like a possibility. But if that’s the one and only plan, why didn’t he buy the club and the ground at the same time, so that we could get on with signing some players?

    (Sorry if any misunderstanding)

It seemed Clowes was originally buying Pride Park to help get the Kirchner bid over the line. When that bid fell apart, it looked a risk that the club would go under so DC has stepped all in to untangle the problems (that he'd been privy too seeing the deal negotiated with Kirchner) and take the club on. But I don't believe Clowes has the financial wherewithal to fund the club long term - as a fan he appears to have done us a massive service but surely the plan is to steer us through choppy waters before handing us on to someone who can take us forward?
To do that it may yet be possible for Clowes and Ashley to come to an accord. If Ashley wants us. And if Clowes can get the right commitments out of him, demonstrating he's learnt from some of the mistakes he made at Newcastle.

As far as I'm aware Ashley has never actually put a bid in for the club despite all of the bluster about his millions.
He's due as much compensation for not buying the club as my grandads ferret (who also didn't bother bidding)

Okay, so just in case anybody has missed this point in the last 2000 or so pages......If Clewes or any other potential new owner offers to pay the creditors either 25p in the pound (25%),on what they are owed up front, or £35p in the pound(35%), over a period of 3 years then we don't start the season on - 15 points.
As of yet, i think it's only Alan Nixon who claims that it's 25p in the pound (25%)up front in the offer from Clewes. If true then no points deduction to begin with.... to begin with there will be no points deduction.... Derby County will start the 2023-23 season in League 1 on zero points (0), just like everybody else in the division, (who will also be starting on zero or 0 points) ...... Unless the EFL make up a new rule, or choose to punish another club in the meantime.

It might. If it were the case. But
Everything we’ve heard over the last 24 hours suggests that Clowes, Q and the EFL have been talking regularly, that the EFL are happy with Clowes as owner. There’s been nothing from the EFL that suggests we are due a points deduction or anything from Q. And why would a Derby fan spending millions putting his club back together do a deal that starts our season on -15? It would make no sense.
Rooney’s spent much of the last few weeks on holidays with his family. He might have enjoyed being with them, missed being with them and not looked forward to coming back to another difficult season, which it probably will be Clowes or not. He seemed to like CK, wanted Stretford and Cook around him, probably wanted to have started the rebuild a few weeks ago, has probably missed out on some targets he had lined up. Maybe some of the players he wanted to stay have said they’re not. Maybe it’s simply that he just doesn’t have the energy it needs as a result. Something a new manager, Rosenior or not, should have in spades.

It really doesn’t matter that Rooney’s gone. We did ok in difficult circumstances when he was here and had some great experiences in extremis, but it was not amazing football. We will be less appealing to loanees but at least we exist! That’s the main thing. Happy to have a battling season, or several, in league one. It’s the competition that counts, and having something to care for on Saturday.

Happy to talk football  I understand enough to recognise that despite his considerable strengths in recruiting and motivating players, WR is - at this early stage in his career - in that category of managers who do not make effective decisions "in play". (Our national team suffers the same handicap, so we will need luck to go all the way in the world cup.)  I also think WR's team selection last season became increasingly questionable. You will consider it a foolish statement, and I've not said it before, but I think that any strong championship manager would have had us very close to survival, if not staying up, last season, particularly if Steadman could prove an adequate replacement for Jags (who incidentally ate very little cake over lockdown). The fundamental problem with last season was that WR decided on a style of play (time will tell, he may only have one) and forced it on a thin squad that did not have the wherewithal to make it consistently successful. I still watch Ravel's great team goal with elation though - and with sadness because of the shades of Wenger (someone I admire) and his commitment to a failing style of football.
Rooney was a mixed blessing old friend. His PR team reflects his net worth, but for him we were as a snail is to garlic - a vehicle. Those who say he will walk into his next job may be right - but if you listen between the lines to the pundits you discover his competence as a manager is far from accepted, inside football. My money would be on Lampard and Gerrard to have much longer and more successful managerial careers that WR. I'd guess Stretford understands that, which is why the Kirchner project (Preston first, by the way) made so much sense to him.
You don't respond substantively to my posts, but you have several times called my loyalty as a fan into question. You'll know from the match day threads that whether or not I am using my season tickets (they are always used), I watch every game. We all have different lives and circumstances.
I look forward to your customary abuse in return - it's ironic that you are so critical of social media
