  1. Id like to see Derby keep wisdom.

Few of our players came out of last season with much credit, but he did well.

He may not offer the aerial presence of Matt Clarke but he reads the game really well – as his average of 1 interception, 3.2 clearances, and 0.4 blocks per game illustrate (Whoscored).

He offers quality and confidence in possession – having averaged 41.7 passes per game at a success rate of 82.2% last term (Whoscored).

  2. What is Rooneys motivation to do well this season.

His personal wealth is over 100 million.

If he fails at Derby he walks away.

If he really wanted to see the club perform well in the season ahead, he would be fighting for the best free agents and loan signings since the club doesn't seem to have money to spend.

Its ok to publish a retained list, to have just 14 players and not seek to raise that to at least 20 players is not OK.

Lampard wanted to make a name for himself at Derby and as a result he got the Chelsea job.

I dont see Rooney achieving next season, so I dont know why he bothers to stay at the club.

If Derby fail next season I can't see any other club wanting to hire Rooney as their manager.

  3. Does anyone really believe that Rooney is capable of getting results with a weaker team than last season.

I didn't think it was possible for the club to have a weaker team that last season.

We have 14 players, 3 of those get injured, we then have 11. One more player gets injured and we are fielding junior players to be allowed to play matches.

Rooney in my eyes is not the man to take the club forward, he's not the sort of manager who can get results when the clubs in a relegation fight from the start.

I think Mel put Rooney in charge to try and bring in new owners, in my opinion it has not worked.

  4. Glad to finally have the list.

14 first team players contracted, the Marriott statement is 'interesting'.

Unless a number of extra players signed this team will be torn to pieces in the championship next season.

The team should consist of about 23 players.

Rooney doesn't instill confidence in me.

If last seasons form continues into next season, I reckon Rooney has 2 months at the club, in those circumstances and with a potential points deduction he will not deserve to stay.

A run of results like last season is possible so maybe 2 months at the club.

  5. Sun newspaper: Derby target Joe Pigott (27) dominates Afc wimbledons end-of-season awards. He scored 22 goals in one season.

I doubt we will see potential relegation issues if we sign him.

The Dons were desperate to retain him, but Pigott has since told the club’s official website how he will leave this summer at the end of his contract and look for a new club.

Our club was the lowest scorers in the Championship last season.

Martyn Waghorn is out of contract while loanee Lee Gregory has returned to Stoke City.

In my opinion, Colin Kazim-Richards at 35 is not the answer, to the need for a striker.

At 27 years old joe has room for improvement.

  6. Josh Ruffels looks a decent left back.

With buchanan being rumoured to be of interest to several clubs, including arsenal.

The Oxford United man has enjoyed an excellent season in League One after making 47 appearances in all competitions, scoring six and creating six more for Karl Robinson’s side.

Ruffels faces an uncertain future, however, with his contract due to expire in the coming weeks.

    With no extension yet agreed.

  7. Gary Cook was appointed  at manchester City by Thaksin Shinawatra and was instrumental in bringing in Sheikh Mansour’s money to buy the club, in poor financial shape at the time, for a figure around £150 m.

City parted company with Cook due to something he shouldn't have done.

2017: Gary cook with financial backers, acquired wigan. During his time at Latics they had serious financial problems and they were relegated to League One following a points deduction.

2018: Gary cook with financial backers attempted to buy Newcastle, that failed.

All I said was *if* it was the same squad I believed we'd do better. I don't actually think it will be the same squad. After Jan window I'm confident that Rooney will get players in. We start from the same as everyone else points-wise. #COYR

Looks like first Rooney might sell Knight and sibley.

  9. Cook’s team will have to resolve the financial problems in advance and show they have funds to keep the EFL happy.

Rumour: the deals linked to cooks American consortium that offered 300 million for another club in 2018

    Were they playing 5-a-side? ?

Waghorn scored 13 goals in the 2018/19 season, Frank Lampard's only campaign in the hotseat.

He wasn't a small part of the tean under frank

  11. A lot of people want to blame the players.

A number of the players, played under lampard, when he took the club to the play offs.

Did I miss something, or does that call Rooneys ability into question.

In my opinion Rooney was not the right person to be the manager.

I dont see how that will change significantly in the coming season.

In my opinion, With the potential efl points deduction hanging over the club, its a massive gamble to continue with him as manager.

For me its fresh start time: New owners, significant team changes, new manager.

I dont see any area of the team that doesn't need to change, the efl charge just adds impetus to it all.

  12. With Rooney worth circa 150 million, I wonder what his driver is for success at Derby.

Rooney has his 20 million pound mansion.

I have read he has a great footballing mind, he was an England star, but are those the key things sought in a quality manager.

Analogy: When it comes to the world Cup or euros there have been sports writers who have said that England might do better if staffed with championship players, who have an incentive to out perform other teams. They would be willing to do their best because they are motivated to get offers from betters to play for.

When it comes to Rooney, what's the incentive other than continuing to be known in footballing circles.

How many former superstar players have really succeeded at football management.

Id like a progress update on rooneys fa qualification, I dont think he's qualified yet.

If Derby had failed to stay in the championship, with the money that he has would that have been something that would have bothered him as much as the fans.

  13. United’s 1-0 defeat at Newcastle in midweek was their 29th of the season, equalling the record for the most losses in a single Premier League season alongside Ipswich Town, Sunderland and Derby County.

So defeat on Sunday would see them set the record outright, inking their name in the record books for the wrong reasons.

At last derbys unwanted record could be broken.

  14. Stephen Pearce, chief executive, says Derby county lost 20 million in revenue due to pandemic.

2017 Derby had an income of 29 million.

I think there will be buyers willing to spend 60 million buying Derby assuming the income return for the year was between 20 and 30 million.

When Derby were last in the Premier league they made over 40 million a year.

    That should interest buyers.

The debt as with any debt, is something on a repayment plan, its a manageable debt.
