  1. Cook’s team will have to resolve the financial problems in advance and show they have funds to keep the EFL happy.

Rumour: the deals linked to cooks American consortium that offered 300 million for another club in 2018

    Were they playing 5-a-side? ?

Waghorn scored 13 goals in the 2018/19 season, Frank Lampard's only campaign in the hotseat.

He wasn't a small part of the tean under frank

  3. A lot of people want to blame the players.

A number of the players, played under lampard, when he took the club to the play offs.

Did I miss something, or does that call Rooneys ability into question.

In my opinion Rooney was not the right person to be the manager.

I dont see how that will change significantly in the coming season.

In my opinion, With the potential efl points deduction hanging over the club, its a massive gamble to continue with him as manager.

For me its fresh start time: New owners, significant team changes, new manager.

I dont see any area of the team that doesn't need to change, the efl charge just adds impetus to it all.

  4. With Rooney worth circa 150 million, I wonder what his driver is for success at Derby.

Rooney has his 20 million pound mansion.

I have read he has a great footballing mind, he was an England star, but are those the key things sought in a quality manager.

Analogy: When it comes to the world Cup or euros there have been sports writers who have said that England might do better if staffed with championship players, who have an incentive to out perform other teams. They would be willing to do their best because they are motivated to get offers from betters to play for.

When it comes to Rooney, what's the incentive other than continuing to be known in footballing circles.

How many former superstar players have really succeeded at football management.

Id like a progress update on rooneys fa qualification, I dont think he's qualified yet.

If Derby had failed to stay in the championship, with the money that he has would that have been something that would have bothered him as much as the fans.

  5. QPR goalkeeper Joe Lumley is attracting Championship interest going into the summer – Middlesbrough, Millwall and Coventry City enter the race - but should Derby enter the race?!

Here are the best free agent options for Derby ahead of the 2021/22 season, sorted by their current club.

AFC Bournemouth: Jack Wilshere, 29, midfielder

    Barnsley: Alex Mowatt, 26, midfielder

Bristol City: Famara Diedhiou, 28, striker & Henri Lansbury, 30, midfielder

Cardiff City: Junior Hoilett, 30, winger

Huddersfield Town: Oumar Niasse, 31, centre forward, Alex Pritchard, 27, midfielder, Yaya Sanogo, 28, centre forward & Christopher Schindler, 31, centre-back

Reading: Sone Aluko, 32, forward & Sam Baldock, 32, striker

Sheff Wednesday: Moses Odubajo, 27, full-back & Adam Reach, 28, midfielder

Other free agents worth looking at ...

Britt Assombalonga, Charlie Austin, James Collins, Charlie Wyke

Wishing good luck to Rooney on these, as he totally failed to impress me last season, its now down to him to hugely improve the squad for next season.

If he doesn't have a transfer budget I assume he at least has a larger wage budget than most other championship clubs.

  6. I'm reading that the club could face a double points penalty next season.

That doesn't seem like something to worry about, the case precedent is Sheffield wednesday who received 12pts (not the only club to have received a 12pt penalty in the past), on appealing that it was reduced from 12pts to 6pts.

Derby should have the opportunity to do similar.

Wycombe feel its unfair that Derby don't have that 12 point penalty applied immediately and they get to stay in the championship, while Derby are relegated.

Well Wycombe should look at Charlton who were relegated while Sheffield wednesday stayed up, that set precedent.

I think the efl appeal and any points deduction us not the clubs biggest concern, the strength of the team and the managers ability to win as many games as possible are the problem.

The need for an immediate take over of the club is a bigger issue.

In my opinion, Derby should be on the phone to this firm immediately.

What concerns me is that alonso has form of doing this before.

Also why remove his twitter account.

For me its a non starter.

I would recommend to mel that he pays for a consultancy service like KPMG or deloitte to source a good buyer for the club, they can audit the buyer to make sure they are of good character and have the funds they are experts at handling business issues and would definately be able to find interested people to buy the club.

I'm confident of this as someone who has worked over the years for a number of consultancy firms.

It would be a fairly quick turn around.

  9. By altering their accountancy practices in regards to the valuation of their players, Derby reportedly removed losses in excess of £30m over a three-year spell between 2015-18. According to the EFL’s profit and sustainability rules, a club can be charged if a loss of £39m or over is recorded over a three-year period.

Who are these people? The Gestapo?
Apart from anything else, we’ve had a season with no fans, no money, and in what way have we actually benefitted from these infractions?

The issues not relating to this season its relating to accounting for how the club paid for players in 3 previous seasons stretching back from 2017.

    The daily mail ...

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9566403/Derby-RELEGATED-Championship-EFL-pushing-points-deduction.html

The thing with that is Derby have the legal right to an appeal before a relegation due to points deduction can be applied.

The championship season however doesn't finish until after the final play off game so they have a very short window before a points deduction would have to be applied retrospectively.

However its within derbys power to argue that Sheffield wednesdays and Birmingham points deductions were not applied until the following season so how can they apply it now.

Isn't this fraud, and actually quite serious?

I think its another red flag for alonso takeover.

The first red flag is the rumour that efl asked alonso to put 35 million into an English bank account to proof intention to buy and that he has the funds to buy the club.

The second red flag is that there doesn't seem to be a consortium involved in purchasing Derby, so show us the money source.

Third red flag, rumour that alonso believes a failed manager like Rooney should stay at the club next season, a lack of football experience in my opinion thinking that way.

Fourth red flag, rumoured potential attempt to attract investors in alonso attempt to buy Derby as discussed in the daily mail article.

Fifth red flag, unconfirmed promise from alonso to invest 150 million in Derby, haven't seen a penny yet.

Sixth red flag, rumoured business meant to be used to acquire Derby registered at companies House with a very low amount of money linked to it.

Seventh red flag, after the loss of the efl can Derby afford to a figure openly hiding their ability to buy Derby from the efl. Can see that not going down well with efl.

Note: some of these rumours might have substance.

Supposedly, in every rumour there is a grain of truth.

  12. Sheffield wednesday receive a 12 point deduction, reduced to 6 on appeal.

If the Mail is correct and Derby are able to appeal, does that mean the 3 points removed and a fine instead.

Could it mean a transfer ban for the club, that would relegated Derby just as fast.

I'm sure Wycombe would have something to say on all this

  13. The crux of the matter valuation of players, not applied properly and a 3 point deduction could be applied this season relegating club.

I believe Derby have the right to appeal the decision.
