Buzzing for Mount, Tomori and Lamps today.

I can't be the only one who wants Frank to do well? He came in, brought a buzz back to the club, united the fanbase, gave use one of the best nights of our lives and only left for his dream job. I hope they get finish in the top 4.

Certainly wish the best for the two players  .  Personally, I would like nothing better than to see Lamps and his team of limpets managing Barnet in a couple of years .  I'm sure I'm not the only one.

All of a sudden Harry , Drogba , and all the others saying FL should leave us and was ready for Chelski have gone very quiet

Parasite FC.  I could really enjoy it a lot more if things were better here at the moment. How anyone can have any affection for Lampard the way he dumped on us I don't know.  Look forward to them all polling up at Barnet or Orient in a couple of years.

Peaky Blinders made a slow start tonight, setting everything up for the rest of the series hopefully.

Always a great show bar series 3 where it seemed to lose it's way .  Also mentioned civil unrest in Derby and Nottingham .  Obviously Thomas Shelby knows what's happening this week .

Get that. but thats what happens.

Simply question : who would u want as derbys manager?

    Lampard or Cocu?

Cocu for me every day. But without lampard rising our profile i think wouldnt have got cocu

No idea. Time will tell.  I just despair that so many share the opinion of Franks instagram and twitter army that without him  Derby were an irrelevance and somehow we owe him . The other way around in my opinion .

I hope frank does well at chelsea. Done wonders for us. Without him rising our profile would cocu had come? We're in a far better position going forward than this time last year.

Plus nice to see an englishman managing a top club

Derby are great but I'm off after completing half a job only a year after taking it . = left a massive floater that won't flush but must say the toilet was really clean before I used it.  Derby were here long before this blokes tenure and had a pretty good profile from 135 years of history.  Hope he gets hammered every week .

My 2 year old has been suffering with severe constipation for over a year now.

He has been on Movicol in his milk the whole time but it changes nothing. We're told his bowel has stretched and he is just building up and up until it's unbearable. When he does eventually go he is pushing so hard and screaming, it's absolutely heartbreaking to watch. We go back to the paediatrician, they tell us the same thing, and the cycle goes on.

We talk about going private but we don't really have the money to do so. How has it come to this? Our NHS can't fix a 2 year old in absolute agony? He can only be fixed if i start earning more money?

Thats awful mate .  I think to see the kind of gastric person you need would probably be an initial 250-300 for an apt .  You can go back onto the NHS for anything further needed - just a bit more convoluted than it used to be .  So many people use Nuffield now I think you could get a loan to pay back over 10 months through Nuffield but worth giving them a ring to see .  if you can fund that initial apt it will hopefully be worth it .  Don't assume it will all needed to be funded on privately - it's flexible

Without being too graphic I was prescribed creams from a gp that set my arse on fire for 18 months . Insisted on seeing a consultant -paid to see him on finding there was a 4 month wait and I couldent sit down at work - saw consultant who was horrified I was using paraffin based creams as I had a tear that required surgery .

If this is still too much in my experience you may need to speak to the practice manager at your GP regarding getting a referral .

I haven't been on here much since the season ended, so my post while waiting for Monday's game can be a rant.

I was out watering the hanging baskets yesterday during the brief spell of sunshine we enjoyed. We sometimes get kids on bikes passing by or parents taking children to and from nursery, but other than the peak times like that it's pretty quiet. @ramsbottom might know some of the delights who walk down Wilmot Street and area.

I was walking back towards the back gate when I saw two kids no older than 10 on bikes. One had a can of coke and after finishing it, just lobbed it onto the road which I hate. I walked over and asked him to pick it up and he looked at me at told me to "duck off" before biking away.

I would have been slapped for saying that as a youngster! Even if my dad wasn't around I'd still be terrified of coming home to him just knowing I'd said it.

He just didn't care at all. I was stewing about it for the next hour...

There is a massive lack of general respect in society from children compared to when I was young and I'm only in my forties. Had a situation 2017 when I arrived home in the snow to find three kids having a snowball fight on my garden .  They were with there parent's who told me on my rather forceful complaint that they were just kids having fun .   Feral parent's and the lack of allowed discipline in society for fear of said feral parent reaction will only make this worse as time go's on . My cousin is headmaster at an infant's school and say's they have an increasing influx of 5 year old's who have to be taken the toilet when they start school as they don't know how to clean themselves with toilet paper . Society is broken .

They won't do a MRI for peace of mind, but say a Colonoscopy diagnoses Colitis that would give me peace of mind.

If they don't find any issues then the MRI is the next step anyway, so it's kind of a win/win situation really.

NHS is in a sorry state, as I was discharged the corridors had people lying in beds, main waiting area rammed with queues still out the door. Just a normal Thursday.

I'm sure there would have been a time when my 999 call would have seen one roll up in under 5 minutes, but now you are quizzed and assed for 5 minutes. Guessing if you say unconscious or chest pain it might be different, looking back calling one for what could be Colitis is a bit daft, but then you don't know that when you're in so much pain and no other way of getting seen by a professional.

Obviously, you're doing what you can to deal with this so may be preaching to the converted.  My mother in law had very similar symptoms to this -in fact identical including the hourly loo trips .- and was diagnosed with Diverticulitis after three days in hospital .  One of the biggest no-no's was tomatos to prevent flare up's but she wasn't told this for a year - just in case it's that .

A few things we’ve learned that probably won’t help.

If you worried you going to need to get it checked so you can rule it out and move on.

    Will an MRI do it?

Any surgical tool that ends in scopy is like a form of medieval torture.

Would it be worth getting a private consultation with a specialist,it could cost you 250 quid for up to an hour but they will usually tell you what it is and then do the treatment on their NHS clinic,we’ve used this and it’s saved loads of time and hassle.

Everything with the NHS is sinking under a double booked, over worked under staffed mess, with lots of good people fighting a losing battle to hold it together.

    Have you moved yet?

I forgot to suggest an immunologist, they will do blood tests for everything and find any defects or bacteria, they are shockingly overworked but they can do most tests on site.

I nearly ended up doing a Falling Down(I didn’t have an RPG)in the immunology dept of the Northern General.

I've also gone down this road on more than one occasion,  I don't trust the NHS as it is simply not thorough enough- seen this time and again with family and friends- so pay the same consultant £250 quid to do the same job but with more care. It's a strange world .   Anyway ,  a new system in place re the above - you can have a private consultation but then you cannot get referred straight to an NHS waiting list. You now have to go back to your GP and get re- reffered .  Bonkers.  You will notice that the Nuffield is basically becoming an offshoot of the NHS as so many people are now going past the 2 week referral for suspected nastiness.

Please also be aware that if you go private, althougth its the last thing you are thinking about when you get there- ensure the consultant provides a full costing as I got stung once for £650 for cleaning a camera they shoved in my nose .

Lady in Asda told me she is rarely ill and credits it to being exposed to every bug all day and building up a mega immunity. Bit like Doctors do (so I'm told)

perhaps 10 months wasn't long enough , I had a cold for about three months.  Shop work wasn't really for me. The last straw was when I was told to chase after a nine year old who had nicked three packets of Rolos . By the time I caught up with him at the other side of the car park he'd rammed two whole packets in his gob in a panic - all that oozing toffee was horrific.  After letting him spit it out and go rather than choke to death I decided at that point , this kind of barbarism ain't for me . The manager was a total dick as well - worst I've ever had at just Seventeen .  The worrying thing is the step on you to get ahead, target driven megalomaniacs seem to be the norm now when it comes to appointing senior managers. Glad I'm not just starting working life .

Quite Frankly how Shop Assistants etc manage to put a happy face on at all is amazing after the crap they get from the general public.

Working in a supermarket, particularly the checkout you also pick up ever bug under the sun at Christmas as people are determined to get that box of quality street even if it means passing on typhoid .  Had the pleasure of checkout work when I sixteen.

  13. People who hunt for purses and hold me up getting on a bus .

People who argue with drivers about why the bus should take them to the place they want to go , despite the fact they've got on the wrong bus

people who sit behind me on buses ,  coughing and snorting even if there are seats nowhere near me .

people who play music on there phones on buses.

loads of kids screaming and shouting on buses

late buses with no explanation or reason

Are you referring to Calzaghe's performance against Lacy mate? Actually had a look at some of my favourite JC fights the other other night. Your man Lacy, Kessler, Eubank and Hopkins are those that stand out in my mind. It slightly changed my thinking about Joe as over time, I'd developed a memory of him that despite my belief that he's an all-time great, did not really do him justice. Not sure how or why!

To explain - in my hazy memory, I'd built this image of Joe as a very technical boxer, super slippery and but not really having a knockout punch. A skilled pugilist if you like, but not a warrior as such, not that he needed to be necessarily. Having watched some of the above again, it made me recall that far from being elusive by default, Joe was also quite happy to stand in front of just about anyone. It's not that I'd ever doubted his courage as such, it's just funny how my memory of a fighter I really admired, was so far removed from the real fighter. The Kessler and Eubank fights are absolute wars, classic contests where in both cases, neither man was prepared to take a step back. The Eubank fight was kind of a changing of the guard and whilst I respected Eubank, he never really did it for me and for some stupid reason, I think I bore a grudge after the Watson fight. Silly really. Anyway, having watched Joe vs Eubank again, I have to say I've a deal more respect for Eubank than I did before, as a boxer at least. As a human, though, he still irritates the piss out of me ?

Another thing I'd forgotten (and I guess the two are linked) is that Joe was put on the canvas a good few more times than I remembered. In fact, pretty much the only thing I thought I remembered and proved accurate enough was the crazy myriad of angles from which Calzaghe could throw (and land!) punches. Strange really given how big a fanboy of his I was!

Anyway, thanks for bringing him up. I kind of forget these guys over time so it was a bit of a treat going back over Joe's videos the other night. Only problem was I didn't get to sleep for about over 4 hours as I'd watch a bit of one fight, then immediately remember another worth watching! Think I watched the bulk of 4-5 bouts back to back with only late night sandwich breaks between. GF was not best pleased with me ?

Yes,  as I recall the odds were heavily stacked for a Lacy win.  America was certain he was going to win .  Always remember Don Kings reaction after the Lacy fight.  'calzaghe took Jeff out of Kindergarten into school tonight. '  Hopkin's wasn't the best fight .  Seem to recall it involved Hopkins basically hugging a lot and not a deal else after the first round .  Glad you enjoyed watching though .  There was a Calzaghe career documentary released a few years ago. Well worth a watch .

Signed by Johnnie Sid Paul and Steve ? Or was it still glen Matlock then before Sid ?

Matlock first .  Sid Vicious is the lasting image of the Pistols but barely played a note,  his mum lived in Swadlincote.

The poster is very rare .  I only know of three existing, its worth this much signed by no-one ,  It's amazing how much some poster's go for- a recent Jefferson Airplane one at the marquee sold for about 12 k .  Original Factory one's for Joy Division about 4-8 k .

Get where you're coming from but knobber that Froch is, he was a champion in his own right after all. Had some wars and never ducked a fight as I recall so I respect that at least. A good metric would be Mikkel Kessler who had great bouts with both.

Agree though that Calzaghe was different gravy though I'm not sure he would have stopped Froch - schooled him yes, banged him out, not so sure. What's irrefutable is that Joe will always be held in the utmost esteem and affection of British fight fans whereas Froch, perhaps a tad unfairly, will not. Getting all misty-eyed over Joe now! Might go catch the Eubank fight before bed!

    Jeff Lacy.  Almost perfection

Always made me laugh how he was obsessed with Calzaghe.  Not good enough to wipe the sweat of his sack .  That fight would have been over in 3 rounds .

Even better now councils don't want to pay for seats and you just get a basic metal prison toilet .  The ones at the old Derby bus station were particularly grim not just the metal no seat version, but that tracing paper that cuts your arse.

The films really draws you in and makes you think about what people in Nazi occupied countries had to endure, flag waving Brexiteers who think we stood alone and Europe owes us etc. should watch!

Without trying to get back into this argument on here which is taboo- but I haven't brought it up.   If someone votes to leave it doesn't mean they have no social awareness,  believe we stood alone or Europe owes us.  Neither are they spuriously brain dead with no viewpoint worth consideration.  In the words of Bill Hicks ' No one dies for a flag -they die to give you the right to burn flags if you choose'. We live in a democracy - someone can have a differing view without being constantly harangued for it.

  21. I did go to university-  It does show you have the capacity to learn things but you only really make money from doing a degree if it's specialises you down a particular route - rather than jack of all trade's business like mine.   For anyone whose done one recently, from experience I would advise it only has relevance for about six years.  After this, see what you can do to increase you skill set further .

Incidentally,  my uncle left school at fifteen,  became a pipe layer and is now minted after starting his own business at thirty so there are many avenues.

What I find very demoralising is the lack of career opportunity in Derby as a whole - Courtaulds, Qualcast, BREL all gone .  Also much of  Royal Mail and practically all Civil Service jobs moved to Nottingham .  We are slowly becoming a city devoid of long term opportunity for all to allow for real long term life plan's .  Our local MP'S need to do more to protect job's in the city
