All 3 parties Derby..sheff wed...and most importantly Marriott have to agree to terminate the loan.

I would imagine we avoided that scenario after the Martin to Fulham debacle surely. Thought it was a straight loan till January.

I don't have a clue to be honest mate. As it's through publisher, I don't imagine I'll know for a few months yet, although it seems to have gone down well so far which is the main part. Think they make a killing and I pick up any scraps!

Started reading yesterday and enjoying it .   When you asked for ex players a while ago as recommendations I suggested Rob Lee as someone who had a bit to say when he left and he features fair bit in the first part, so that might have helped . Glad if it did-or you might already have contacted him at that stage.

There's an interesting question....can anyone remember the last team that both scored and conceded 7 in a match in the same season?

I don't know the answer btw.... Perhaps it's unprecedented!

We scored 7 against Southend in the league cup... but didn't concede seven

1990-91- We conceded 6 against Chelsea and 7 against Liverpool, but scored 6 against Southampton and Sunderland.

Pretty close. Do I win a signed and lightly soiled Kenny Burns jockstrap as a booby prize.

These are Premier League records - we can still extend the winless run because we havent been in the prem since. Wasn't aware the most games without a win was a record for the EFL as well though.

Swindons record is for a 42 match season. Ours is for a 38 match season. You could argue we wouldnt have conceded 11+ more goals if we had another 4 games, but we did concede 15 in our last 4 games of the season, so we probably could.

A few of these are shared though as i said in my original post.

If we can get away with the Swindon way they can keep it .  Lots of little records - Sunderland hold a pile of them - so few count in the big scheme to be honest.  Our old boy took a big fat turd on us losing one of the worst ones today unfortunately.

Yes afraid we hold-jointly - the overall record for most league games without a win .  To be honest we shouldn't as we had games against Doncaster and Barnsley and another to avoid it and with the squad we had it was appalling we didn't. Was more peed off with that than the 11 points.

We got half a dozen records in that 11 point season in addition to the points one!

Fewest prem wins in a season, most consecutive games without a win (which we can still extend), most pl defeats in a season, fewest goals in a PL season, most goals conceded in PL season, worst goal difference and fewest clean sheets were all set or equalled by us in that season.

That ones shared with Macclesfield now . How they didn't break it being 2-1 with 3 minutes injury time left i'm not sure.

I thought most conceded was Swindon.

Sheff Utd have played 34.2% of their games now and have 1 point. They are therefore certain to end up on 3 points, both smashing our record and freeing us from the curse that says we can't be promoted until someone does worse.

I'm afraid they were crapper than this back in 1991.  Suddenly they turned into Real Madrid.

Sheffield United had returned to the top flight after two successive promotions, and it soon appeared that perhaps First Division survival was a bridge too far, with the club going 16 matches without a win at the start of the season, leaving the club bottom of the division on Christmas Day with only 4 points. However, a run of seven straight victories at the turn of the year lifted United from 20th to 12th,

He said stuff long before all that. My point about double standards between him and AJ still stands. Nothing I say here will have any sway on your opinion I can tell.

No. Sorry.  To be honest.  Fury said some awful things in the past.  He may mean them, he may not. He's suffered with this for a long time  Frank Bruno also suffers with bi-polar and  had a court order taken out by his wife for harassment, put on  loads of weight and wound up living with a right load of unsavoury blokes till he got help.  The British public still love the bloke.  Nigel Benn was another who people loved despite a very dubious lifestyle and many unsavoury comments.  Chris Eubank didn't say boo to a goose  was detested far more than 'jack the lad' Benn because he wore jodhpurs and played the villain. I Don't think there's any double standard unless you're purposefully looking for one.  But there you go.

Sheffield United now need to show top 6 form for the rest of the season just to have a chance of staying up. [25 games remaining to earn 39 points]

Shitbags have rallied. Unexpected point on the cards ?

Bi-polar? Better add that to the list I guess, next time I see him out in a super car i'll feel sorry for him in the comfort that he never meant anything he said and is very much a relatable peoples champ. I don't even dislike Fury I just get sick of the BS and double standards.

Yes Bi-polar.  I knew someone who told me they were terminally ill.  Two days later they had no recollection. You clearly dislike him a great deal.  That's up to you but no point being wishy washy and pretending otherwise. Whether he meant what he said I have no idea. Perhaps someones asked him in the meantime. As he put on about 10 stone in a year and was saying all manner of poo it's safe to assume he was going through an episode of undiagnosed bi-polar at the time regardless

Yeah, no. Andy Ruiz is a good fighter. He doesn't look like he would be, but he has fast hands and in the first fight was bang up for it and caught AJ off guard.

In what way? Joshua has enough power that Fury can never relax, but unlike Wilder he can actually box. The strategy Fury deployed in the last fight won't give him an advantage vs Joshua. I can see arguments for Fury winning, but to claim it'd be reasonably easy is a joke, IMO. It'll be Fury's toughest fight of his career.

Guess the proof will be in the pudding.  For me Fury is stronger, technically better and more durable to a punch . Fitness could be an issue depending the mood he's in a few months before.  If he's on it i'll stick with the 6/7 rounds.

I do find it amazing the disparity of scrutiny and judgement of both fighters to be honest, AJ fights a top guy every fight now when Fury took two soft touches after Wilder first time around. Went life and death with Wallin.

But I am sure he'll pull out some story about how he was driving in his Ferrari, wanted to drive it in to wall to kill himself and had to stop himself. Very relatable I must say. I also don't believe gays are a bad as paedophiles. He's done well to turn public perception round from where he was, AJ is the boxer that people love to hate now. I see a lot of people seem to hate him for saying support black businesses which I find quite revealing.

Doesn't he suffer from Bi-polar .  People with Bi-polar do and say very strange things and will have a totally different opinion the following day. The fact you don't think someone with Bi-polar may decide to drive into a wall because they have an expensive car could also be classed as revealing I suppose.

Have to disagree with most of what you said about Fury as I'm a big fan (as I am of Joshua) and he says a lot of things that resonate with me.

As for the fight i just think its a great match. Both have shown weakness and strengths and have also shown they can adapt.

Both have made hard fights look easy and easy fights look hard. Neither are flawless.

I think the only reason Fury's weakness isn't spoken about is down to how, let's be honest, he's not the man to beat. I personally would put money on him rather AJ but AJ has the better CV, has the belts and is the #1 imo. 0L's are overrated in the sport.

I don't think either is overrated. They're are no other HW's to place above them.

It would be fair to say though that Joshua got those belts because Fury had to surrender them having put on 10 stone and shoved half the Guinness factory down his gullet.  He also hasn't lost to an appalling out of shape boxer who most reasonable amateurs would have gone 10 rounds with.  Not sure has the same armoury and ability to switch tactic as Fury.  I think this may be a reasonably easy 6/7 round fight for him if it's in the next five months. The best chance Joshua has is to make the fight in 8/9 months .  Inactivity makes Fury sluggish.

After 12 games we were on -21 and they are on -16. Both scored 5 goals.

However we had 4 more points than they have now.

Think Swindon have the record for most conceded at over 100 albeit with 4 more games . ? We have the least goals scored i think 20-21 ?

  14. Tell you what I've just realised. On any given match day we have a squad with over 30 million quids worth of players not including an injured Marriott.  Kind of convinced myself mentally we had a squad of just kids . Really need to get there arse in gear.

Anyone seen tht Wednesday defender high five and smile when Grabben scored?

That was most bizarre, giving him a high five when he scores.  Had the whistle just gone for the end of the game as he scored ? Only thing I can think of. If not that's a major kick in the balls to his teammates and inexcusable.

This year maybe not, we’ll see.  But the record will surely be broken in years to come. Hope it’s not because of a points deduction tho

Most consecutive league games without a win: 36, joint record:

    Derby County

    Macclesfield Town

This is the one that gets me.  Thought no-one would come near it. Then along come Macclesfield 2-1 down to Carlisle in the last minute or two. They equalise and then win it in injury time to avoid the record outright.  Thoroughly peed off that day.

The earliest we can say that they can’t beat our total is 3 wins away from the end of the season ie 23 games

OK. Thought you meant games left.  I'm sure there going to have a few games where they have a mini patch . We almost had one in Dec/ Jan that year were we should have had another 10 points but were grossly unlucky with poor referring and bad penalty's.  Huddersfield looked odds on last year -they were awful and rallied for a few games to go to pick up 7 from 9 at one point.  Villa were terrible as well then got 7 from 9 after Christmas.  It's not impossible but improbable.

I'm enjoying Ole's fine job at Man U.

Long way before he can make them truely Arsenal levels of mediocer, but I think he could do it.

Always sort of enjoy Arsenals predicament. They seemed to have a huge level of fan who forgot that before Wenger turned up they won a couple of titles and a couple of cups in best part of 25 years and hounded him out  There probably worse now than they have been at any point so as bad a move as I expected.
