Just a warning if anyone is thinking of ordering anything from the shop . Don't!

They use EVRI for delivery, the worst delivery company ever . I ordered a jacket over 2 weeks ago and nothing . Evri have no contact details and the club don't reply to e mails. If you call the shop it says your wait is over an hour.

    Fuming ! ?

I've had an update. Evri just e mailed me saying they can't track my parcel and to assume it's lost . They say I must now contact the club !!!! What a ?show !!!!

    I'm with you.

If the question were England win or Derby make the playoffs, then I'll take Derby.

But I'd take England winning the World Cup over Derby getting promoted for the reasons you say, EVERYBODY is stoked and excited and I just love that.

Omg this is worth a ban ! Everybody = a bunch of idiotic d******** ! In fact , there are so many beer chucking In-ger-lund till I die morons in pubs that I hope ?? win and put this nonsense to bed . Come on Derby!!!!!!

My take on this long debated who stole who's song business(by us saddos) is as follows.

Boney M release their version of Mary's Boy Child November 1978, unleashing Jester Hairson's 1956 song into the public consciousness (nobody bothered with the Andy Williams 1965 version featured on his album "Merry Christmas").

It was a regular occurence in those days for derby matches to be played around Christmas due presumably to train travel being difficult and a desire for a bumper crowd for the Boxing day game.

Derby played Forest Boxing Day 1978 and by all accounts was a bit spicy off the pitch and thus taking the new Christmas number one and recent incidents we came up with the catchy number that is still sung today.

However we know City and Wednesday sing versions and I'm sure there's others too but...

City and United have played many games around Boxing day but never actually on 26th itself and their 1902 Christmas Day meeting pre-dates the song by more than 50 years and wasn't exactly in the "golden age" of football violence. Their other meetings generally took place on 28th December or New Years eve which don't really lend themselves to the song lyrics.

Sheffield Wednesday, who like to claim every song we sing is copied from them, beat their city rivals on Boxing Day in a famous 4-0 win, which was also deemed to be "a bit hairy" off the pitch but this didn't happen until the year after Derby v Forest so surely their "acheivements" would have lent themselves to the tune of 1979's Christmas number one - Pink Floyds' Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2)?

Therefore I reckon we were the most likely origin of this classic football ground anthem.

So if pink floyd  was no1 that day the song must have had the chorus ........ Hey Wendies, leave those kids alone !

He has no interest in the womens game - doesnt mean he doesnt like football does it - lets not be silly ?.

The only other football i watch outside of derby county is the england mens team and every now again the womens team. I can never get into the womens games, but i keep trying and they keep improving. Even if i had zero interest in watching the games i would still be interested in reading what other people have to say about it.

Average wage in the super league is £30k per year. Some earn quite a bit more but the money isnt in the womens game yet to be paying the same as in the mens leagues.

And the women may be able to compete on a skill level, but there are zero that would be able to compete at a physical level even at league 2. The strength, size and speed of male athletes means women will never be able to compete at a high level in the mens game. Sports are segregated by gender for a reason. You could have men and women competing against each other in athletics as well, but then women would never win anything.

I dont think they need to play in the mens leagues though. The development of the mens game didnt happen overnight. With a bit of patience and perserverance i'm sure the womens game will continue to see strong growth in the coming years.

Its not about skill levels though. Its physical attributes that make it impossible for womens teams to compete with men.

The african mens teams can improve tactics and skills and will have the same or better physical attributes as other mens teams. This is completely different to women competing in the mens leagues.

As i said above though i dont think they do need to move into the mens games. They set a lot of records for attendances in this years euros and i think i read that the final had the highest attendance of any euros game - male or female. A Euros win is going to do wonders for the womens game in england, but i think they would have seen strong growth regardless.

Thanks for answering the first point , tbh I just couldn’t be bothered wasting time responding to his pathetic analogy. Cheers !

Is that upset and offended as in crying and angry, or upset and offended as in "I think I will add a laughing emoticon as my reaction to said upsetting and offensive post"?

It's called taking the p***. Maybe don't get involved another time petal. ??

But interested enough to post this?

I suppose what we mustn't forget is that it's not really about the victory - the truly important thing is that you got to express your duff opinion about it on a DCFC fan forum

    God bless the internet

I am upset and offended by your personal attack on me regarding my opinion which I am perfectly entitled to  This is 2022. I hope you will be reprimanded accordingly and will be expecting an apology soon . ?

  9. Sky Sports will be going bonkers over women’s football now. My prediction is they will scrap the 2pm Prem game now and your Sunday double header will be a woman’s game at 2pm and Men’s at 4.30pm.

PS just for the record , I didn’t watch a single second of the whole tournament as I have no interest in it personally.

I browsed OwlsTalk earlier and they have a big thread on Derby and our signings.

I thought they’d understand our position a bit.

Well most are seething, feeling we have cheated with one or two even comparing our situation to Leicester.

One thing I’ve realized is the media and the EFL/Gibson/Wycombe really have painted Derby as the bad guys.

I just looked at this , my question is ... who is the Derby “fan” on there slagging us off and basically kissing those Wendie fans asses ???
