If it's true that both are coming, I hope it's Stretton who is kept as third choice. Collins, McGoldrick and Kazim would seem excessive to me.
You would rather Stretton than Kaz?
For me Stretton has shown naff all when playing for the first team.

He has a great record in league 1 , looks like we are getting mcgoldrick instead though
We need at least two strikers and kaz for the season.

Hourihane and the two Brighton lads announced this evening hopefully ?
And if we're greedy maybe Curtis and then Rosenior to sign permanently as manager?

You really can't, or shouldn't, compare a defender who's been around the block a few times and has a history of serious injuries to one of the top athletes of a generation who's kept himself in prime physical condition and never had an injury keep him out for more than 3 months.
His age alone means nothing, sure, but there's a far wider context to consider.
The Ronaldo comment was just flippant. I was just making the point that age doesn't necessarily mean a low wage.
And let's be honest Curtis isn't asking for close to half a mil a week is he. I just guess that he's asking for the max we are permitted. I would give him that based upon last year's performance. He would also br captain for me 100%

You shouldn’t be paying top wages to a 37-year-old.
Really?
Shouldn't you? Tell that to Ronaldo.
Curtis played every minute of every game last season and was immense.
His age means nothing. Would you rather we payed top wages to a 18 year old who's never played a game just because he's 18?

You can’t just offer the cap to get it sorted. If the cap stretches our budget, it has to be on somebody who is going to be playing regularly and one of the best in their position.
Is Curtis Davies even going to be a starter if he stays in?
He’s a great guy but his wages were ridiculously high for what was really one season at top Championship level. After that he became either a bit-part player or an emergency CB yet he was still commanding top Championship wages,
What are you on about? Are you saying curtis wouldn't be playing regularly and isn't one of the best in his position? ?

At face value, no. Fingers crossed it's sorted.
I would be disappointed if we can't work something out with Curtis. An absolute hero last season. He will know our wage cap. I cant see what the issue would be. Just offer him the cap and get it sorted.

Why do fans dislike players who score 10-15 goals a season but like players who score 2-3?
I don’t think he would stay but I’d be over the moon if he does. Why - because it’s a guaranteed 10-15 goals. Something we don’t have yet.
I cant understand it either. He's done a few daft things but he's a cracking player capable to truly special moments. Best season he's had for us last season and people still slate him and want him gone. Mad.

Does anyone know if we are permitted to pay a transfer fee under our EFL terms?

He can demand what he likes but we wouldn’t be able to pay it.
He's not daft. He will know what the max is. Why would he demand the impossible

Understandable that Sunday was a quiet day signing wise. Do we expect another big splurge today or do we think they’ll just be drip fed in to the club now?
I’m hoping for splurge not just because it’s exciting but because we need them in the door asap listening to Roseniors ideas
I think we might get a few today.
I would like to see Rosenior made permanent. Davies to sign an extension. CKR extension and one new signing.

I would love to have Shinnie back but the one I want announced is Davies. A deal needs to be struck, surley he wouldn't be demanding crazy wages?
He can't demand silly wages. The max wage is dictated by the EFL.

If there’s not much in the way of free agents, perhaps a youngster on lob is needed. I hear that Chelsea have a bright young left back that knows the area well… ?
Come home Dylan!
Good shout. Havent heard anything about him since he left. Guessing he's languishing in the u23s?

If he doesn't want to be here then get him gone. Don't want people like that in your squad
-
We need captain Curtis to sign along with Kaz today.
We are going to need another striker for sure. Then it depends on who leaves to what we need after that for me.

So how long do we think we have to abide by the business plan? Sorry if this is detailed in the EFL statement, they just mentioned it on SSN

I would be happy to be proved wrong. But let's be honest there must have been a reason why he only made 7 appearances. Plange moved himself ahead of him and we played Lawrence out of position when kaz/plange where unavailable. He won't get a season with less competition than last season.
