It's definitely warranted it was a completely baseless and demonstrably wrong comment.  
You are bending over backwards (not from just this post, from all of your others) to slag off Warne and the recruitment team. We've signed a striker in Washington who will probably contribute some goals. The thing is that we are working under restrictions, and it is a tough market to sign any players let alone sought after attackers. 
If people really thought restrictions being **eased** as opposed to being lifted was a signal that we were going to throw silly money at things then they themselves are the fools here. We have a competitive budget. We've signed players like Bradley who are top players at this level, it can be both true that we have a competitive budget and that we aren't at liberty to throw money at attackers. 
The season hasn't begun. Why is it more likely we'll be challenging for playoffs? The general consensus from other clubs is that we are going to be competing for top 2. 

Think the criticism of @PrideParkheadis uncalled for. I think he maybe put his thoughts across a little bit harshly and we’ve signed enough proven players to dispel Warne having no pulling power. 
 
However our recruitment for improving our offensive output has been poor so far. Yet there’s posters who are seemingly bending over backwards to defend Warne and the recruitment team. 
 
If funds are that low then maybe Clowes shouldn’t have said that our budget was competitive and maybe should’ve down played how much we can spend. Also the champagne popping from local media when the restrictions were lifted wouldn’t have done much for people’s expectations. 
 
The fact that challenging for the play offs looks more likely than top 2 is slightly frustrating. 
 
I for one, was looking forward to getting out of this make a wish league this season.

Just to offer a slightly different angle - Some comments need calling out as absurd, perhaps we could be more forensic and clinical about it but sometimes that's a bit difficult. The proliferation of ridiculous posts like the one in question make me want to avoid the board altogether. If I could be bothered to breakdown the post then I guess it would be thus but I think a STFU is more appropriate.

We're the biggest team in this League but have been reduced to scrabbling about in the dirt for castoffs. Not sure what biggest means or how it's relevant but we don't have the option to just splash money around because we are working to a very strict budget.

Also, if we are reduced to scrabbling about in the dirt for castoffs could you expand on your reasoning as to why that could be? I’m assuming by the tone of your post you want to level that all at Warne rather than the circumstances that have engulfed the club for the last few years and continue to affect things in the present. Things like only being one year out of administration, still being subject to a business plan, an ongoing rebuild of the academy alongside the first team.
But yeah, let’s roll out the Warne has no pull line again…. 🙄

Jack Whatmough and Jamie McGrath have just both released themselves from their Wigan contracts. Wouldn't mind one or the other or both tbh

Personally id rather we worked smartly within the budget , and if we feel we need more options in January because we havent spent loads in the summer we can actually strengthen for a change where other clubs might not be able to ..

Warne also noted the burnout affect of having a small squad and thats exactly what we're going for again this season.
We've lost an international midfielder in Knight and a 20 goal a season striker in McGoldrick. We lost Dobbin and Springett who arguably weren't that great however, so far we've brought in Washington as a workhorse. I really can't see why we're recruiting in this manner.
As i've previously stated defensively the recruitment team have knocked it out the park, but in offence they've been found wanting so far. 
Maybe we're unlucky that the financial money pit has fallen on its bum just as we need to spend a bit. But this is where a manager with good connections could sign a couple of smart signings out of nowhere.
