Even if this does end the hopes of winning the ashes, drawing the series at the oval is still a worthwhile achievment.

It will be interesting which way we go with team selections. You go over with three objectives, winning the world championship, retain the ashes and win a series away from home. I’m expecting the same team with the young spinner coming as a farewell game for a few before the rebuild starts for the summer.

I can identify most of the players.  The one talking to Hinton may be McFarland.  The guy with his back to the camera I'm guessing is either Nish or Daniel.  However, I'm not sure who is stood to the left of Todd.  Any ideas?

Today’s nonsense aside, Carey is an excellent keeper. It’s a shame we don’t bother picking ours. I think Bairstow’s keeping has probably cost getting on for 150 runs in the two tests so far. Given he averages 5 more than Foakes with the bat it hardly feels worth it.

What I find funny is that Bairstow tried exactly the same play against Labuschagne in the first innings but missed. Good for some but not others?

Poor Brett Hodgson, this clip gets trotted out around this time of year to show the competitive nature of the origin arena. Tallis gets to relive his glory over and over again, Hodgson gets reminded annually he was thrown around like a rag doll 😂

Gotta love Origin season especially if you’re a Queenslander.😄

Leicester will be fine once they sell 3 players for 100 million, plus parachutes.  They should piss that league next year.  Over 100 points I'm reckoning if they keep half their squad and add a few.  That team going down is bonkers.

Leeds have a right load of old crap though on massive wages following massive fees no one will be arsed with.

I believe that the parachute payments will be going straight to Macquarie Bank (Aust).

Did Edinburgh last year . Total let down. Park full of litter. Half the shops boarded up and even Castle was a con. queued for an hour to see some "Crown Jewels" which turned out to be a sword and something unforgettable in almost pitch darkness. Then a Seagull nicked my expensive bit of Dundee cake, and knocked my coffee over the lady sat next to me.

Busses were good and cheap though. Parking in Centre total nightmare.

We leased a unit in Rose St above shops and pubs for a month and lived like locals. Absolutely loved it doing walks during the day and then hitting the pubs at night. Lost count how many times we’ve been, pity about the 30 hours of flying to get there.

  7. As a frequent visitor to the UK, the place that disappointed me was Glasgow.

We spent time in Glasgow twice last year (before and after hiking the West Highland Way) and as much as we tried to like it we just didn’t get it. Maybe we were spoiled staying in Edinburgh for a month before hand.

Yesterday, Mrs Admira and I had our final screen test to appear on the A Place in the Sun TV show. Should hear if we were successful in a week or two and if so, they fly us over to France for a week in mid June.

First things first though, off to Hawaii Friday morning then LA, San Francisco and Vegas.

Belfast in June, South of France again in August, Dublin September, Benidorm also September and Tallinn for Christmas.

Lyon and Bali booked for next year so far.

If anyone has any 'must see or do's in that lot, let me know please.

    What's everyone else up to?

If you are into cycling, I would recommend the bike tour from Kintamani Volcano to Ubud. It’s virtually all downhill and you go through traditional Bali villages. We’ve stayed at Kuta, Nusa Dua and Ubud but our preference is Ubud as it’s more relaxed. Nusa Dua is more of your big resorts and Kuta is backpacker central.

I don’t mind, but having worked as an electrician and having to go into ladies toilets (when they’re empty) to change lights etc, they’re animals! Richard the thirds on the floor next to the pans, paper all over the floor.

    Too much hovering I think.

I’ll back you there Boycie, as an apprentice plumber my first job Monday morning was to go through the toilet blocks at a large stadium. Never had any issues with men’s but the women’s what a mess.
