Folk need to remember Dawes is foremost a fan - and he's historically not had an inside line from the club. He may have heard something, but equally, he may have read twitter and this board, heard there was an issue with the wage payment and jumped on the "we're all doomed" bandwagon. He's not a news journalist and I'm afraid the BBC stopped being a trusted source of news many years ago - I'd suggest taking his 'report' as an opinion piece rather than factual and wiat for CK or Q to put something out. The one thing Dawes has done is pushed them into a corner where they need to respond....

All he has reported is someone else paid the wages or have I missed the bigger story?, From CK not paying wages the media and others are having a field day.
I'll wait for the official announcement that CK has withdrawn his bid before I get my sharpened knifes out

I'm gonna make a call here - Ed Dawes has looked a little premature today and CK will be taking over and the money arrives this week.

Problem is I don't trust that Dawes has the wherewithal for those sources not to be people with a vested interest in telling him its all going to pot, with their own agendas he doesn't or or can't recognise.
I always think back to his interview with the Wycombe chairman where he got walked all over and ended up tickling the guy's balls.
    The bloke's a patsy.

Spot on, They'll print a story regardless, Retract it at a later date if false.
Only a couple of people know what's what, Ed Dawes is getting info from inside PP, He's putting 2-2 together and assuming it adds up to 5 when it should be 4
Q are the people running DCFC and as usual are as quiet as a church mouse.
EFL are as we all have been posting not fit for purpose and could have had the wool pulled over their eyes
CK I don't know what to make of this guy, An unknown who's been saying the right things at the right time and convinced a large % of people that he's genuine, Garry Cook, Paul Stretford, Wayne Rooney, Q, EFL, Supporters, Media the whole shabang.
Until all this shyte is confirmed I'll live in hope that a deal is close by.

I don’t think anyone has mentioned it but I would just like to say thank you the the unnamed person who paid the staffs wages - one day it will come out who it was but some hero’s and legends will be remembered by many.

I obviously want it settled as soon as possibly but I can’t really see an announcement that the takeover has been completed making much of a difference to any young football fans who may be interested in the glamour teams when their fixtures are announced. Even if/when we start announcing new signings they’re hardly likely to excite those who may be interested in the likes of Man U, City and Liverpool. I think the reality is that these youngsters may well be interested in the big clubs but will only watch them on TV (initially). If they’re really interested in watching live games at a stadium then they will quickly remember DCFC when the season starts. The challenge will be pricing tickets at such a level to get them in the ground and then playing entertaining, and hopefully successful, football to make them want to keep coming back.

Leeds won 5 on the bounce before lockdown and hadn't conceded a single goal. They lost the first game back after lockdown so that's wrong for a start.
Forest will go straight back down unless they have an impressive summer transfer window. They've looked very average and that's with the loan players at their disposal. The play-off final was a hard watch and totally bereft of any quality.

Regardless of all the money flying around and complex property transactions - is there a formal process necessary for the Club to leave the Receivership process? Could this be part of the delay?
I am sure it will happen, just plenty of hoops to go through. Patience!

I think the club could take them to court as well for restriction of practice or something like that, because they have certainly prevented us operating properly as a football club.

This maybe a controversial comment, but once Morris is completely away from the club, if he decides to take the EFL to court, i know which side i'm on and it isn't the ELF.

I'm not sure if it's a wind up, because when people what day is it on the 6th June, they should be ashamed.
Today is the anniversary of 'D-Day' the start of the liberation of Europe from the Nazi's. Without those brave Allied servicemen & women, my father, a Polish enforced slave labourer, based in Normandy, would probably not have survived the war.
The sacrifice they gave on that day and the next 11 months cannot be overlooked.

Think we'll have to agree to disagree but interesting take on things.
I would argue it is televised football that is in decline, not live football. The appeal of Man City v Spurs (to take your example) is not the same as it would've been 20/30 years ago...no novelty & people tend to half watch. Of course there is no competition for Saturday 3pm kick offs which is when we will largely be playing.
Going to the match meanwhile is a social thing & a being 'part of the experience' thing. Questions of quality not that relevant therefore but think you might be surprised by the quality in League One compared to the Championship, it isn't that different. We'll be there to support Derby though & how we play is most important. Given the trauma of the last 2 years, I dont think we massively care who we play...that may change in time but not for next season.
Re season tickets, people will remember the fantastic atmospheres at PP this season & will want a part of that again. That had little to do with the opposition or even the quality of football...it was all about us. Suspect we will sell well although some will pick & choose matches as ever. Burton not really comparable being a club tenth of the size of Derby.
As to Crewton's point, a 15k average suggests some gates of 12/13k. I'd be astonished if we went that low. Games against Sheff Weds/Ipswich likely to attract 25k plus & away sides will bring plenty as they will see PP as a big day out. Expect full away allocations from likes of Port Vale, Lincoln & Bristol Rovers as well as the bigger sides.
