If anyone gives @david grief over tonight they're a moron. (Deliberately not tagged to give him a rest).
The fella has gone above and beyond his duty, after all he's just the owner of the most popular DCFC forum, not a spokesperson for the fans.
It would have been so easy to either send someone else, or decline the invitation outright, and no one would have called him for that, in fact I'd guess some people would praise him for a principled action, and not being cowed by a NDA.
Instead he's put himself out, travelled a decent distance, by crappy public transport, and attended what was probably not a particularly pleasant meeting so he can report back to us whatever he's found out, yet he still gets knocked.
Tbh, if I were him, I'd switch the forum off once I got home and let everyone stew.

People complained about the NDA and the attendees being gagged, so they've chosen to allow the fan groups to report back, and that's still not good enough?
Of all the things you can attack the club for now, you're picking an absolutely rubbish hill to die on.

I rarely get pissed off at DCFC but at the moment I am very close. 
for them to not release notes when they said they was is down right disgraceful. 

It’s our bloody club and I don’t want to wait to know what’s going on as I’ve waited long enough. 
 

So we’re absolutely none the wiser while those invited feel like smug little itks
this is typical of the poo show that is DCFC atm.

Quick update: I have just left the meeting which is still ongoing otherwise I would miss the last train.
A decision was made not to release minutes for this meeting in the end, but I am free to get a write up out to you all as soon as I can. 
I do not have a laptop with me and would prefer to wait until tomorrow once I’m home and can go through all the notes.
I will aim to have it ready to post on the forum tomorrow.
Please do not bombard me with questions across the forum by mentioning me, PM, DM or text if you have my number.
I don’t want to be putting bits and pieces out there all over the place.

Are we going to get a vague summary at least about this secret meeting. Honestly cant see the point in it, if its going to be secret.

Which is why a lot of people are going to be very disappointed that Mel will be answering nothing tricky or giving anthing commercially sensitive away.  So no updates on:
Takeover. Embargo (Unless EFL have come to an agreement and its going to be announced tonight as a big thing).   Quite frankly its embarrassing we even got into this state in the 1st place.  Signings.  How much debt the club is actually in and whether Mel is personally covering it against the stadium or its parked against DCFC, the later would be really bad news..... Anything else is really irrelevant.....

I know we're all deeply frustrated by the lack of communication from the club and the apparent problems we're going to have in the new season due to EFL shenanigans, but my God some of you need to grow up - the club could easily arrange a streamed session where they didn't allow questions and simply presented a carfully worded set of statements that told us nothing. Instead, they're offering to talk to fan respresentatives with the understanding there may be some elements that are sensitive and they don't (at this point) want to make public - and you're all crying like schoolgirls because you can't go to the meeting or becasue someone might find out more than you do......

As I said, in my opinion it is those that have legitimately tried to engage with a number of people and who are able to take a range of views to the table. I personally think @David has worked really hard to do that this last week, and indeed at previous meetings, despite there being nothing in the Forum's raison d'etre to suggest it his responsibility to do so.
There's nothing worse than a person taking their own agenda to the table and banging on about it to the exclusion of all else.
I suspect that one or two of our regular attendees today may fall more into the latter category than the former, but there are enough of the more informed people to do a good job of representing the range of views of the fanbase.
You might disagree, but it's just how I view things, having spent an entire career supporting marginalised groups to have a voice.

I am with @Gaspode on this one. I think it's much more important to have an open and frank meeting where the club representatives can speak freely, than to have a bland public exercise that acheives nothing. If the NDA allows this to happen then I see this as no different to what many private and public  businesses have in place already. You have to respect commercial confidentiality and this is a critical time for our club in that respect.
As for representation,  I feel reassured that the club has chosen to work with established groupings, not just now but over the several years since these supporter charter meetings have been established.
I have seen many engagement initiatives set up in my line of work,  where new systems have been established whilst alienating all the people who have been doing the work before. Starting from scratch inevitably means that the "wrong" type of people get themselves at the table, rather than those who are happy to work with and engage with their constituency all the time - whether formally or informally, like this Forum. They put in the hard yards for little or no reward, so I am more than comfortable that they will try their best to represent the range of views in a constructive manner.
Let wait and see what comes out of the meeting before we start beating up our club yet again.
