I'm expecting the game on Saturday to be a very hard fought draw.

The need for both of us to not lose ground to the other is a big factor in that.

Agree with that. Have a feeling if either team does take all 3 points, it might just be a springboard to a good run in and automatic promotion. Fingers crossed....

It's this situation, right now, that Clowes brought him in for.  Rosinior or AN Other may well have got us into the exact same position with 8 to go, but Warne's experience of multiple run ins should give us an edge.  I don't give a crap if his interviews are a little disjointed and waffly for some taste (I for one like 'em), but you know for a fact he knows exactly what to say to the players.

I was thinking that Warney's interviews had become a bit 'David Brent' recently, so I tend to chuckle at them now.  Anyhow, as things stand, none of that matters. Just have to hope he's got what it takes to get us promoted.

Am happy to say Gayle been far better than I expected him to be! Has a lot of good touches. Was always going to be a good finisher. Looks pretty fit and still reasonably quick as well.

Also comes over as very grounded and intelligent in the interviews. It has to be said, shrewd bit of business signing DG.

On the game we dominated Reading and thoroughly deserved the win. Yes the referee and linesmen made bad calls but we've had those issues for the past 3 years. Eventually we'll get a rub of the green which the play deserved. I don't necessarily blame Reading for what they're doing, after-all, they've got a job to do and if that's how they win games then fair enough. But we really needed that win to at least slightly ease the pressure on the Bolton game.

Yes it's third tier football after all, so that's the level you get, not just in terms of players, but also officials. The important thing is the 3pts. It was a good night for Bolton as they clawed back on the goal difference. So for us, beating Reading, any which way, was crucial.

He’s provided midfield balance but would be a squad player if we were promoted

That would be based on an assumption that we would have a significant transfer kitty to recruit superior talent. Not sure that's going to be the situation, financially.

Here we go again. Accounts just come out showing our losses but we want media training for our players!

Louie will have had exactly the same training as Bird and Cashin, both of whom are articulate and calm when interviewed.

Louie is obviously not comfortable in front of the camera and just says obviously instead of er.... it's hardly a biggie, is it?

P.S. Has anybody noticed how many times Richie Barker used the same word in his interview? Co-incidence?

    Obviously!

It's not 'here we go again' at all. If the player isn't comfortable in front of the camera, there's every reason that he gets some support from the club. Actually it doesn't cost that much.

So are we sending Warne to a gulag in Siberia or has he been restored and the public subscription is running to build the bronze statue of him tending the wounds of Elliot Embleton?

Somewhere in between, perhaps? A fortnight in Skegness and a new bobble hat knitted from the finest Shetland wool  😉

for the club to really balance it the books, the. We need an academy that is developing assets that have a maximum sale value and be willing to move players on when the time is right. Our current loss could easily be offset by 2-3 academy products being sold who really reach their potential.

Yes, actually, that's the only path to sustainability. Otherwise it's a boom / bust cycle.

Also my earlier post says I want us set up to have a go and win comfortably. I don’t think it’s how Warne will set us up but it’s sometimes just nice trying to discuss the team and the prospects for tomorrow without the negativity.

We simply don't have the quality in the squad, or the energy levels to win games comfortably.

Hope it does for you , as for me I’m really enjoying it just now , often it’s what’s going on in life as well , honestly I’ve seen us far far worse than we are just now over the years , much as getting back to the top flight is what we are aspiring to my worry is it may well dishearten me being there

We are soooo far away from top flight football, may as well be on another planet.....

Slept on it and still can’t get over how poor we were last night! Absolutely toothless going forward and it’s got to be the worst football I’ve ever seen following Derby! We seem to make every game a scrap and I see no pattern of play evolving over the 1 1/2 years Warnes been in charge.

There have been numerous times this season where we’ve literally had under 5 shots in target and managed to pull a win out of nowhere. It now seems like the luck has ran out, and Warne is showing his true managerial capabilities.

I’m a massive fan of David Clowes’s. But the ideology of employing people who align with the principles of his real estate business in the football world worries me, and makes me think that Paul Warne is here for the duration of his contract.

Based on recent performances it's clear that we are letting a promotion opportunity slip through our fingers. Not being negative, just realistic and I hope I'm wrong, but our record in the play offs is not good at all.

For a season and a half I was very impressed with Wildsmith but he's faded for a while now.

What he did tonight was just nuts.

Yes absolutely ridiculous goalkeeping considering he did something very similar against Oxford away. We need definitely an upgrade on Wildsmith.

Rosenior's record wasn't very poor - he had us in the same place Warne finished only without the benefit of  McGoldrick 90% of the time.    He's showing at Hull that we should have kept him.

Liam probably would only have got us somewhere between mid table and top six in his first season. However, that would have been OK, as I personally feel we would have reaped the rewards of an intelligent team rebuild, as well as developing a system and style of play capable of achieving promotion, with a chance of competing in the ch'ship.
