How could he have sorted out the mess if he'd walked? He can't do both.

He did stick around, he appears to be the one who led the loyal staff team through the administration, and he is now determined to prove himself at the same club. That must take guts.

I meant it as two separate things.

He should have walked a long time ago if Mel wasn’t listening to his advice, but once administration hit then yes the least he could have done is seen it through which he has.

It must take guts yes, but if we weren’t bought and Derby was no more, then what would you think of him?

He would have just said sorry and then walked in to another role elsewhere. I just can’t forgive him for it no matter what he does.

Stephen and Mel knew full well the potential consequences and still did it.

Perhaps he said there were no issues with P&S BECAUSE the club had sold to stadium? ?

Want to bring amortisation into it too? Every single practicing accountant involved in the case agreed in it being an acceptable policy. The EFL'S CFO actually said the policy is acceptable but comes with the risk of loading a big chunk of amortisation towards the end of a contract.

Whilst I agree that everything should have been accepted and probably would have been if there was an accountant on the appeal panel, what would have been next?

The reality is the stadium sale would have saved us then, but what do we have left as a club? What was their plan for the next 3 years with no stadium left to sell?

There was zero planning or thought of long term financial stability.

  3. Whilst I would never publicly show I don’t like him, I really don’t like him.

He’s a qualified accountant. He would have known more than anybody else, including Mel Morris, how dire the situation was. His role as CFO was to stop exactly what happened from happening.

If Mel went totally against what he advised then I’d fully expect him to walk out of the club in protest. He could have walked in to another job without any problems at all and the least he could do after it all went bang was sort out the mess.

I’ve worked in a PLC before where I’ve seen the Finance Director walk as they didn’t agree with underhand practices of the company which was forced from the shareholders.

There’s how many businesses that have got absolute peanuts in the pound from Derby as a result of what they did. Those responsible should not be allowed to be a director at another company again.

As I’ve said, I’ll never boo or do anything to cause a negative atmosphere, but he will never be a Ram to me.

Rotherham have managed 1 goal and 3 draws in 4 away games this season.

Whilst they probably have the smallest budget in the Championship…

I think it’s more comparable to look at what his away record was with Rotherham last year, which was 3rd best in the league with 42 points.

If we got 42 points away from home this season then I’d be fairly confident we would be promoted as our home form isn’t a problem.

  5. Just catching up and it amazes me how many people jump to conclusions on this.

For all we know Rosenior could have turned down the full time job or asked for excessive wages that hopefully we’ve now learnt to not pay.

Rosenior is doing an ok to poor job in my opinion. We’re ok at home but poor away. I wouldn’t be offering a long contract for him on decent wages to then potentially sack him in a month or two and pay out money we don’t have in compensation.

Just bought my ticket for tomorrow

First game of the season for me….

But why can’t I get an eticket/email tkt?

I’m sure that was a thing before. Ah well. No biggy but seems odd to make us have to print or collect a paper tkt?

The turnstile scanners are like a little slot. Never really thought about it but I’d imagine a phone can’t fit in it to scan. Season ticket cards and paper seem like the only way but I could be totally wrong.

We're going to have to rename the MOTM award at this rate.

    MOTM excluding Knight, perhaps.

He’s been my favourite player for a while now and the one I enjoy watching the most.

As good as he’s been at RB, I always just think what if he was playing higher up and would we benefit from him even more.

Imagine if we’d had Nathan Byrne this year with Knight in midfield…

Was wondering if someone could offer any advise please.

A friend of mine is away for the Lincoln game and has said I could use his away membership to get my son a ticket.

    My son is 10.

But obviously the away membership is for an adult.

Is it possible to get a child's away ticket using the adult away membership? Or does it only let you buy an adult ticket?

I’m 99% sure you will only be able to buy an adult ticket. If you read 3.2.10 below it says any Away Member is strictly for use of the supporter who qualifies. So to me that reads you will only be able to get the ticket in your friends name and therefore pay an adults price. Hope that helps.

  9. What an absolutely bizarre game.

I don’t feel like we played well but we could have been 2 or 3 up in the first half.

Peterborough fans feel like they played really well but I thought they were fairly average…their finishing was awful and I can’t see too much wrong with the red card. If you’re on a yellow you don’t even attempt that tackle.

Amazing what a difference McGoldrick made but not so sure he could last 70+ mins (at least yet).

My positives were Knight, Sibley, Dobbin (at times) and McGoldrick. Also thought Smith was pinging the ball about with purpose when he came on.
