uttoxram75 got a reaction from Chellaston Ram in Best Chant of All Time
Loved the old 70's Bruce Rioch chant. To the tune of "We'll keep the red flag flying high"
Hello hello, how do you do
We are the boys in white and blue
We love to sing we love to fight
We hate the boys in red and white
We'll sing a song of victory
We'll sing a song in harmony
The Villa fans will never mock
When they remember Bruce Rioch
Rioch, Rioch clap,clap.clap,clap

Sat in the south east corner when it was the noisy part of the ground. We were playing Cardiff and there was one away fan that stood out in a bright pink polo shirt. The chant of “the only gay in the village, gay in the village” was hilarious.

Return leg of the league cup semi final at old Trafford. Fergie rested Ronaldo who was a sub and had crashed his Ferrari during the week. Derby fans sang “your car is too fast for you”. He saw the funny side smiled and clapped when he was warming up, fair play.

Quite liked against Leicester once: "Thank you very much for Spencer Prior, thank you very much, thank you very very very much" To the tune for a Roses? advert.

The very first away game I went to on my own was Hillsborough. Think it was second division, they were at the top and we were near the bottom, and no one had much hope. We drew 0-0. Looking it up it was 7th March 1981.
Standing behind the goal, for a long time we sang You'll Never Walk Alone. It was spiritual. Forever etched in my memory.

For the older members.
"Who's up Mary Brown? Who's up Mary Brown?
Tommy Tommy Docherty."

Always gets my goat when this is sung!
Years back it was always wings of an Eagle.
Can't imagine those poor little sparrow wings carrying a crows arse.

This
Back in the 80's was brilliant away from home, with a special mention for the League Cup 1 all draw away at Leicester in 85 after we best them 2 nil at home in the 1st leg to knock them out. They were top flight, us 3rd division, it was also the night of the riots in Leicester City center as the police were all at Filbert Street.....
Felt like we kept it up for a whole half of the game, every time it wavered and the Leicester (baby squad were they called?) in the terrace next to us started to sing we built the noise back up to drown them out.
One of the best nights I can remember from my 1st full season going.

One that always amused me was “ He’s fat, he’s round, he’s taking Forest down”.
Think it was old Roy Kinnear, bless him.

Here's another. Would be allowed these days. 1st game season 84/85. Thousands of us away at Bournemouth. Great crack with the constabulary. Then a very good looking blonde WPC appeared. She was serenaded with "GYTOFTL"... if you know, you know.
She took it in good part and burst out laughing.

Whose that copper with the helmet on?
Dibble. Dibble.
Whose that copper with the helmet on?
Dibble is his name.
On the beat all day.
On the wife all night.
Whose that copper with the helmet on?
Dibble is his name.
They just don't write 'em like that anymore! 🤣

About 27/8k Derby fans at PP all singing in unison, ‘’Oh Graham Poll is a f&@king ar540le’’ has got to be the best chant ever - even Poll himself was laughing !!! 🐏😂

Always loved 'when you're tired and weary, your heart will miss a beat', crafted in the 70's i think by the Popside regulars

Preston away in 15/16, picking out one of their fans and singing “you’re coats from Matalan”. He got that wound up he was kicked out by stewards, he was with his son too 😂

We shall not, we shall not be moved.
... for a good half an hour after the final whistle at Carrow Road, 1980.
... then they sent in the dogs... and we moved! 🤣

We are derby, Super Derby... sang at the original Rod Stewart 45rpm pace, not the full bore 78rpm version we have today! 👀
Who's up Mary Brown. 👀👀
When the red, red robin goes bob, bob, bobbin' along... shoot the b45t4rd!
On top of the Trent End, where nobody goes...
Derby boys, we are here, whoa-o, whoa-o
Derby boys, we are here, whoa-o, whoa-o
Derby boys, we are here,
Sh*g your women and drink your beer
whoa-o, whoa-o-o, whoa-o
We're all, on the piss again,
We're all, on the piss again,
We're all, on the piss again, one banana, one banana, one banana, one banana...

I remember Willie Young getting sent off at the BBG and arguing with the ref for what seemed ages and the popside singing "little Willie Willie won't go off" to the tune by Sweet.

I will forever have fond memories of letting super ref Graham Poll know how affectionate we were towards him.
