The latest metal gear solid is surprisingly good for letting you crack on and play the game. I say surprisingly because metal gear solid 4 has to have the longest cutscenes ever.

I've never found one , but always thought there was a market for a game like that. I'm obviously wrong , otherwise there would be one. Maybe it's only you and me that would play it. 
I'm too thick and too slow to play online . 

Nearly 200 quid for 2 adults and 1 child passports!!
Might go to Bognor instead and use it as spends .

PS4 wins hands down over the XBONE, and that's coming from someone who owned Microsoft consoles exclusively before anyone accuses my of being a Sony fanboy.
I completely agree regarding the way console gaming has gone with multiplayer modes being shoehorned into every genre and game developers suddenly thinking that they're movie directors. Sadly, the answer is yes it has got worse and it will continue to get worse. There are still a few decent games knocking around though.
Maybe try Alien: Isolation and SOMA. I'd say they're the closest you'll get to the survival/puzzle/exploration experience you want.
Dark Souls and Bloodborne are action games as opposed to straight up horror, but they're widely regarded as two of the best games to be produced in recent years and hark back to an age where beating a game required skill.
P.T. - I only mention this demo to annoy you because you can't get it anymore and the game will never be made. It was going to be an instalment of the Silent Hills franchise directed by Hideo Kojima and looked creepy as ****.
If you have a decent PC, Monstrum is a pretty good survival horror too.

If you was bored with PS3 I wouldn't bother with the PS4, no huge shift in games, just improved graphics and that.
Nintentdo classic is out now if you want some retro gaming, around £50 pre loaded with 30 odd games

The goal'celebrations' that most irk me are the ones where the player is really angry - for goodness sake, smile - you've just scored!

Sturridge has the most  totally annoying celebration going...sticks his toblue out and then does a really naff caterpillar thing with his arms.

Obviously auto corrected there...TONGUE out. Although his too blue might be more of a crowd  pleaser!

I feel the same about the John Lewis advert (wash your mouth out, I here the twitterati shout). It advertises nothing, it doesn't put across the message of Christmas, all Black cast, an envious dog.
Clever filming, but apart from that, what's the purpose?

I'm not suddenly going to shop at John Lewis because they've got a Christmas ad out that everyone's talking about.
If I'm passing one and I need summat I'll go in maybe and have a look but I'm not going out of my way to spend my money there just because some marketing exec decided to waste thousands on an advert that's not even needed.

Don't know why some companies even need to waste money on advertising.
McDonalds for example. There are tribes hidden deep in the rainforests of Papua new guinea that know what the golden arches represent so why advertise if the entire world knows you're there and what you sell?!
McDonalds shouldn't have a marketing department. If they do they're insane.
Supermarkets also. I buy from Tesco because it's the nearest to me. If Sainsburys was nearest I'd go there. I really don't give a toss which supermarket is advertising which because it doesn't matter to me.
Unless say Morrisons were offering a free bottle of whisky for every mammoth Xmas shop then I may consider it but otherwise you just shop where you've always shopped don't you? Rendering supermarket advertising pointless.

Eggs. Next door neighbour keeps a couple of hens and a couple of ducks on a patch of land at the back of our houses.
Regular thing to receive half a dozen of each over the fence. Those duck eggs, huge, and totally free range. And free.

And widening the food theme ... REAL food .. It can be posh or simple, fancy or plain but when it's done right it is one of life's great joys ... Hot chips from whole spuds, ham off the bone in fresh bread with a dollop of mustard or pasta cooked al dente or porcini mushrooms in a good stew ... It isn't about money, snobbery or cheffyness .. It's about not going down the "reformed" processed e numbered synthetic flavour enhanced MSG. ... I love good food .. It makes me happy .. And it's cheap .. You can buy the most expensive free range egg with the yellowest yolk from the trendiest shop and it's still cheaper than a bag of crisps from the corner shop. We are so lucky 
 

The Sunday roast whipped up last night.  Aberdeen angus joint slow cooked for 8 hours, new potato crunchies, home made yorkshire, broccoli, baby carrots, stuffing balls & proper gravy.  Christ almighty it was good...

People throwing cigarette butts out of their car at the lights, or elsewhere for that matter.
How many times have I envisioned getting out of my car, picking that butt up off the road, knocking on the window, and sticking that thing up your nose.

Making your own Yorkshire Puds and getting them spot on. Fluffy, light and melt in the mouth and all done with gluten free flour which is notoriously a pain in the arse for baking with.
I ain't master chef but I make the effort. Sometimes it's worth it.

It's an embarrassment to English football. STOP IT.

Not really annoyed I supposed, more confused really.  Why do people need to do this while at a game?  Do their eyes no longer work unless images are filtered through a tiny screen.  Do they really feel they need to record these moment so they can relive the action later.. ...don't they know there are professionals with TV cameras recording everything anyway, and you can find and replay the goals or whatever a hundred times if you wish.
