Mother in law. Let's call her Doris.
    Frantic call on Sat afternoon...
Doris: "I'm at the auctions and there's a job lot of those baby wipes you use for £100 - I've looked on Amazon and that's  £35 cheaper than retail!"
Me: No thanks Doris, i don't really want to spend £100 on baby wipes or store a cubic tonne of them in my attic.
Doris (offended): "Well that's silly, you'll buy them anyway"
Me: "Yeah but over a period of 2 years!"
    Doris: "Fine."
Later that day, Doris arrives, with a boot load of baby wipes, smug as ****.
Me: "WTF Doris I said No!"
Doris: "Well you were being silly and don't worry - you can pay me back over a period of 2 years if you must."
I now have a cubic tonne of baby wipes and £100 less money.
    ******* Doris.

I was really lucky to get an invite along today to the yard from John O’Hare to meet up with some of the 70s legends who were meeting up to celebrate Roy Macs 70th birthday and the annual Easter visit of Alan Hinton.
i thought I would take the opportunity to take my son along to meet some of the older players who when he is grown up will hopefully be given the status that that Steve Bloomer gets now, at least he will have a few photos to show that he really did meet the men who made us famous and for a brief moment in time perhaps the greatest football team in the world ?
when I got there I was a little embarrassed to find that I was the only member of the general public in attendance and felt a little bit out of place, the classic gatecrasher at the party, fortunately I know a number of them already and was instantly welcomed, I made sure that we sat just out side of the main group to allow them to chat to each other
Every one of them made time to come over and have a sit with us, I had of course taken some stuff to get signed as it was to good an opportunity to miss, after checking that they were ok with it they signed stuff and sat and talked and had photos with my son, he loved it and entered into some great conversation with them all, he was asking them about the odd haircuts that they had on the photos ( he is only eight) he told John Ohare that he should now be called john nohare which I’m not sure if john picked up on or not, he spoke to Alan about his white boots and got me showing Alan photos of his green boots, to a man they sat and chatted away talking about anything and everything, the numbers continue to dwindle, I felt like the man in the middle sharing stories of my recent meets with Colin Boulton, Colin Todd, Frank Wignall, john McGovern, and Peter Daniel, those in attendance (some with their good ladies) were John Ohare, Alan Hinton, Alan Durban, Roy McFarland, Roger Davies, Rod Thomas, Jim Walker and Henry newton, once again it struck me that the club should make more of a fuss of these guys whilst they are with us, let’s not wait twenty year before we finally get round to making up a song for them that we sing and the younger generation doesn’t have a clue what the names Todd, McFarland, Nish, Hector, Hennessy, Boulton, Newton, Gemmill, Davies, McFarland, O’Hare, McGovern, Hinton etc mean to Derby as a city.

It's a Battle Royale game where you can play on your own or in squads where 30 year olds like me get killed by 9 year olds - who then pay to unlock stupid dances to mock your dead body. I've spent my life playing FIFA, and can't believe how bad I am at shooting somebody else first. Addictive, though.

Well I'm 45 and been gaming for years, the only Fortnite BR game I've won is in a duo with my 10yo lad.  He has upwards of 50 solo wins.
After watching my 10yo and 15yo play games such as Fornite, CSGO, PUBG and Overwatch etc I am rapidly coming to the opinion that my forte lies with Planet Coaster and Surviving Mars

Wlad's arm length might be less than AJ but he has a wide stance and a loose dipped shoulder. Wlad uses his jab and front hand to manipulate. He puts his lead foot under your feet. To hit him you have to pass both his jab and foot meaning you're over reaching. Off balance he then nails you with the right hand.
His reach, his invasion of your space is massive. This is why he is the only fighter to be in charge of the center of the ring v AJ. He was the predator in that fight.
Fury has his fights half won in the build up. Look at the long game he's playing with AJ. Fury rates Joshua. He mocks Joshua's boxing skills but AJ is actually quite a complete fighter. He's been a brilliant amateur and Olympian. But Fury wants to fight an angry Joshua. A Joshua looking to knock Fury out. And it's working because Joshua bites now whenever Fury is mentioned.
Like Wlad. Wlad takes boxing very serious. So Fury made it a joke. Dressing up as Batman and other daft behaviour. It's not because Fury is a clown. He knew exactly what he was doing.
    He did it with Haye.
He takes people out their comfort zone. Then when he gets in the ring at 6ft 9in he's fast, switches stance, rolls along the ropes out of reach, has a stiff jab. As you say he's a huge bloke and the jab from range is heavy.
He fights like the underdog. Always got an exit strategy.
Thing about Fury is when he is actually serious in interviews (very rare and never for the full interview) he's a keen student. Top bloke.
You can't really study Fury's style. He mixes everything up and plays off the opponent. You can't stop the jab.
The heavyweight division is in great shape imo.

    Had Joshua 8-4.
First 4 all AJ, 5 and 6 Parker and can't remember the rounds exactly but maybe the 8th and 10th was it? Other than that, Joshua came out of it without so much as a scratch.
Would love Fury to get back up to it as soon as possible to see if Joshua really has the ability to out-box someone. Yes his power is fantastic, but has struggled in the middle rounds in last 3 fights. Let's see someone test him.
I think i'm in the minority but I want to see AJ v Wilder in Vegas - just for the glamour. Hearn seemed to be talking up a UK meeting though.
    The Price knockout was brutal.

Fair result, Joshua definitely deserved to win that fight.
That being said, I really didn't like the referee getting involved so frequently, I think he should have let some of the skirmishes go and got too involved. Joshua v Wilder next please.

AJ vs Fury doesn't get me excited. Fury is a technical boxer, who'll just shoulder role and jab all night. They won't engage, it'll probably be even duller than this one in terms of power punches.
At least with Wilder you'd expect him to come out swinging. He can't do technical boxing that guy.

You couldn't make a case for Parker winning the fight. He looked like a decent boxer, but the size difference between the two and AJ's range meant he always looked like he was on the defensive.
Judges score fights for different reasons, and they would have favoured AJ for being more aggressive and dominating the centre of the ring. The referee didn't allow a close-up fight, meant AJ could just win rounds using his range.
Everybody in world boxing wants to see AJ vs Wilder. It's highly likely that played a role too when it came to the scorecards.

American commentators including pauli had Parker winning the middle rounds. Parker was screwed by the referee tonight, there’s no 2 ways about it. They are desperate for the wilder-Joshua fight.

Parker is quick, much quicker than I expected. Looks slick, but questionable power.
AJ looks the bigger man, you’d expect him to cut the ring off and start to be busier.

AJ’s resume is miles better than any other heavyweight out there.
He’s beaten Klitschko, Parker and Whyte. Three you’d put in the top seven in the world.
I’d like him to beat Povetkin next. He’s mandatory anyway, but it will only add to his resume.
Then there is only really Wilder left of active heavyweights worth beating.
