What a player Paul McGrath  was, yes he had bad knees but he didn't need to run as his reading of the game and his anticipation were so good. 

It will be an interesting few weeks. Every single member of the squad has had an impact; had a match that was their moment (usually followed by long term injury). A number are too old or not quite good enough and so we can’t afford to be too sentimental whilst at the same time we need to ensure the culture at the club remains.
We will need a squad and there are players there that would be more than useful in making that squad up, allowing us then to add quality where it is desperately needed - up front and in midfield. I think we probably all have our favourites who we would like to see stick around. Anyone who leaves though goes with best wishes and a thank you. Once a Ram…

I think it’s important to keep some of the experienced heads to continue the “culture” within the squad, Fozzy should be one. Probably someone who’d willingly accept a reduced role in the squad but as you rightly say can still come in and do a job if needed. 

Lots of short memories here from the people wanting to release Fozzy. It’s barely a matter of weeks since his 90 minutes against Bolton did arguably as much as any other performance by any other player at any point in the season to get us promoted.
Sure, he’s getting on and may no longer be a starter in the Championship, but it takes more than eleven players to see out a season and I can’t see him letting us down.

Out of the players who have a contract, we’ve got 4 that are first team players in the Championship.

That’d leave us with 17 players, 5 first team if we’re able to sign Adams and the need for 7 new first team signings.

Two things I noticed. When the team were having a photo taken with their kids, Wildsmith was holding up Thompson like a kid. And Robert Lindsay doing his Citizen Smith salute in the director's box.

Praying he is a ram next season.

Loved it. Just stood there letting the emotions run over me whilst the pitch invasion happened and then after I’d taken it all in we went down on to get a photo with me mum and dad on the pitch. We stayed on there for the bounce and celebrations and then left. 
 
 
One little issue - if anyone knows the 2/3 fans that went to the Carlisle fans giving it the big one (not those that were applauding them) just clip them round the tabs. Idiots. Just won promotion and they want to head over to the away fans giving it w anchor signs. 

The under 21s are due to play on there on Monday evening. 

Oh... and whilst I'm still in the mood...
I assume we had no Japanese Rams at the game either, looking at the state of the pitch by the end.  What is it with scummy litter louts?  🤬

The Radio Derby coverage before and after the game was immense. Great having Eric and Malcolm together on there too.

I’ll second that. Could hear “Untited United” way into the second half. They also didn’t look like a bottom side, they played some neat football. I hope they bounce back. 

The boy did what was right for derby county , very good offer , money came in that allowed us to bring in vital cogs and he stayed on loan , busting a gut to get us up , so fitting he smashed that early goal in nearly busting the net ,,, the boy is a hero on a day for hero’s ,

Not sure if this has been covered already but could I also give a shout out to the Carlisle fans who stuck by their side throughout and were magnanimous about our promotion?
Spoke to several of them afterwards and they seemed a good bunch, saying what a great club we were and wishing us all the best.
Hope they bounce back under Simmo.

Listening to the rams daily podcast on bbc sounds at the mo, it’s 70 mins long, first 20-30 mins includes Ed’s words at full time, comments from Eric Steele and Malcolm Christie then Dom right in amongst the chaos catching brief interviews with loads of the players and staff.
