There are no circumstances under which we should be signing Smith. I doubt Washington Smith and Collins would get any where near 25 goals I doubt they would reach 15 between them. We don’t want Smith and Washington needs shipping out

Ignoring the pre-season matches, I am baffled how loads of other clubs, regardless of what league they are in, can hit the ground running from day one and outplay us, and this has been the case for as far back as I can remember.
It us clear that this is an “in it for the long haul” situation, so lets hope it doesn’t take too long and too much pushing to get the train moving.

A lot of sense in this thread, and I realize we will have to wait it out and hope the strategy comes together. The one thing I find amusing is the talk that "Warne's teams are the fittest in the league" and to achieve that he is going things differently from other sides who are maybe doing ball work. 
It is possible we were fittest in League One. We won't be in the Championship. We've lost that advantage. Every team wants to be fittest in their division. Man Citeh are the fittest in the Prem. Every team has sports scientists working away with each player. We are no different. We'll probably be in the middle of the pack when it comes to fitness in the coming campaign, battling with teams on parachute payments able to invest more in this than us. 
It doesn't mean we don't want to optimize our fitness, but it will simply allow us to compete rather than give us an advantage. To get points on the board we will need to play better football. Let's hope we can do that. 

People on here are playing the "They've got to gel, they've got to get used to each other" card already. But I am baffled why, season after season after season after season we are being outplayed be allegedly lesser teams who have just s big a rebuild a us, maybe even bigger, while it is us who look like nobody has bothered to tell us what that white round thing is or what we are supposed to do with it.
I know fitness is a key issue with our style of play, or at last our style of doing things, but surely working on actual football would have its benefits long term in the same way that running as much and as fast as you can does. I sure to God hope that it isn't October again before we get to see some football.

Couldn’t understand why Warne never gave Brown an opportunity to show what he could do .Especially in those pathetic Papa Jon’s games . If Spain can play a 16 year old , don’t tell me he is too young . 

Given that I, and many others, found it almost impossible to get away tickets in the season just gone, I am hopeful that the larger grounds will give us an opportunity to start supporting this wonderful club on the road once more.

I think Scott we have to give Warne and the club the benefit of the doubt, they had a very limited budget in league 1 and we had to recruit known quantities on free transfers who could get us out of that division. Its great that as soon as we are able we have changed our approach

Forgotten who’s name?

Where do you want to start, many have a more extensive archive than mine. 
In short over the last 10 years and in no particular order, we started by nearly making it back to the big time, but didn’t; resulting in the longest wait in a car park that I have ever experienced.
We have then had more managers than a XL bag of fruit gums including 2 England legends and a former Dutch Maestro, oh, and a second and third coming of someone who thought he might be Dutch but isn’t and a PE Teacher from Leicester.
We’ve been owned by business men and speculative gamblers, been on the verge of going bust, beaten Forest 5-0 on a memorable day with a certain player (who’s name rhymes with a popular brand of vacuum cleaner )getting a hat trick. William the Great (first of his name) went to Watford and never came back. There were some occasional appearances of someone called gorgeous George, and there was an unfortunate incident in a local hostelry frequented by woodworkers. A keen Golfer, named after a hotel chain, almost gave us another shot at the big time during a fine match in a place called Dirty Land in Yorkshire. We’ve had our youthful talent nicked, been bullied by the Head of PE, and had the ground pledged to money lenders. A big Ox called Colin and some others gave everything they had to keep us alive but it wasn’t enough as the PE teacher kept kicking us when we were down. That’s before we even get to arch supports and snakes in our trainers.
Then we picked ourselves up and started all over again thanks to a man (soon to be elevated to the sainthood) who’s initials fit the club he loves and saved us from extinction.
which is where we are now; managed by the king of bobble hats who by all accounts is a decent human being. 

Just goes to prove that EVERYTHING in this world is linked.
A butterfly flaps its wings on one side of the planet and it leads to a tidal wave of player signings in Derby.

what’s everyone’s overall view of the window so far ?
 
I reckon midfield wise if we secure Ebou we’ve done well. The Nyambe re signing gives us a bit more defensive cover and security. 
 
Upfront I remain a bit windy knowing little about Yates and Jackson ? … Are we missing firepower ?
