You don’t know. I don’t know. None of us know what has happened in the last few months. We don’t know the issues that have surfaced, the challenges that have had to be dealt with, the countless underlying problems, the complexities, the meetings, the negotiations that have taken place.

At some stage, you have to make a commitment and try and get a deal over the line, and that is going to entail giving one party exclusivity for a period of time.  Despite what you seem to think, it's not just a case of the admins doing the entire thing and someone rocking up and handing over the cash at the last minute.  There are agreements to be made with various parties, which involve the kind of thing you can't agree until you have a willing buyer and know what they are willing to put in.  If you're forever discarding all that work because another bidder has gazumped the previous one, you'll never get anywhere.

I prefer the term magic beans to crypto currency,it helps my visualisation of the crypto trading space.

I can see it playing-out now. EFL accept our plan to suspend the 15 point deduction based on paying 35% of non-football debts over two years.
We stay-up this year after Reading lose all their last six games and Derby pip them on GD for 21st spot.
The season after next, Rooney's Slync.io Rams buoyed by a fresh line-up of ex-internationals and aspiring youth, go on a storming run and at the final whistle on the last game of the season are firmly sat in second spot with a 14 point cushion over Everton in third.
10 minutes after the game Kieran Magiure spots an aritmetical error in Quantuma's "Great British Financial Plan", and it transpires that only 34.99% of the debts were cleared. EFL instantly deduct us 15 points and we lose both PO semi-finals 1-0 to Peterborough.

The 'competition' has had nearly 7 months to step up to the plate and yet hasn't been able to come up with an acceptable offer. Sooner or later, as the saying goes, it's time to poo or get off the pot.

it shouldn't matter if CK has wealth or not. We should be aiming to be a club that could be owned and stewarded by fans/community, which would require the club to be self-sustaining. For all MM's faults, his vision for the academy, and how it would fund the club going forward, if executed properly, could and would've worked.
I said under GSE, and to Mel Morris' face at breakfast-gate, I don't want owners pumping millions into the club, I want sensible management and excellent coaching to be the driving force to success. Throwing money at it only papers over ever-growing cracks.
If CK comes in, doesn't spend a dime, but doesn't put the club in further debt and maintains or improves our standing in footballing terms, that's fine by me.

Yes, preferred bidder was (when I was a civil servant) the standard legal term in the civil service in the procurement process for the bidder who is selected to some predetermined criteria, as being the body who it intends to sell the business to, or award a contract, subject to the completion of financial and administrative negotiations and legal arrangements. And this is what the joint administrators have done. It isn’t binding and the preferred bidder can walk away. Just don’t understand kevinhectoring’s points about this process

It's a term that seems to have been used in a similar way, by almost every single administrator of a football club in the last decade:

Also, most very wealthy folk have their money tied up in medium to long-term investments - why take a hit by pulling money out of one of those (with associated costs) when he can potenttially pay a million or two per year while he restructures his money?
I absolutely understand a new owner wanting the security of owning the stadium alongside the club, but if there's a cast iron guarantee that he can purchase the ground at a later date, it makes sense to rent initially.....

I don’t think ‘preferred bidder’ is Quantuma’s term.  If so, why have clubs in administration announced a ‘preferred bidder’ why are Chelsea (although not in administration) about to choose a ‘preferred bidderk out of the four that have bid.  Are they all wrong?

You are probably right, if Rowett had paid what Exeter were asking for him. Rowettball would have had him playing holding midfield player.

Don’t understand. Why is it unbelievable? A PB isn’t contractually bound to do anything. They can pull out anytime. And if EFL find his bid to be unacceptable then he needs to make it acceptable or walk away

Who's to say that we wouldn't have played him totally out of position or not played him at all or totally crushed his confidence?
Just because he went to Brentford for 3 years then was sold for a 25 million profit doesn't mean the same outcome if we had signed him.

When you want something bad enough, you'll pay for it. If it eventually turns out to be Chris Kirchner, Ashley didn't want us bad enough. He had the same opportunities.

What is an acceptable bid though? It isnt really CK's as Q have been saying all along their preferred outcome was to bring the club and stadium back together through the administrative sale. Q in my view have only picked CK as preferred bidder because an impasse had been reached where no deal was ever likely to arise that would have been good enough to see off Morris and get the stadium back in the club's hands. I dont think buying the club on its own was attractive to Ashley or Appleby. For this reason, I am holding my nose on the proposed deal, as I am far from convinced CK is the right custodian, and I really didnt want Morris continuing to be Landlord for an asset that should, and always should be, the club's.
