I've made a ventriloquist dummy out of some old carpet.
It's ruggish.

It may not be deemed an act of god.
Negligence could be argued on multiple factors.
what was the weather report at the time of leaving? What was the state of the plane? Did the pilot have a commercial license and qualified to take passengers?
Negligence in law is defined as
the defendant owed them a duty of care; the defendant was in breach of that duty; the breach of duty caused damage and;
the damage was not too remote.
Clearly there could be a case. As the agent arranged the flight, and the agent was employed by Nantes, there could be 1,2 or 3 defendants.
Put it like this, if you have agreed to buy something, and the company you are purchasing the product from are still moving the product around and they subsequently damage it, would you pay for it?

Nordic walking. Good for us oldies as it exercises more muscle groups than strolling along at 2 mph.
Some of us can't run so power-walking is the next best thing!

Seems almost certainly to just be an "act of god" for insurance purposes. The weather was terrible and the pilot had already radioed ahead asking to make an emergency landing. So that makes it even more contentious in terms of getting a payout
It would be horrible, given the outpouring of grief from Cardiff fans over a player they never saw play, if this just ended up in a nasty argument over money

Obviously assuming all contracts have been signed etc, I totally agree that Cardiff "own" him, and should pay up (to Nantes). Any insurance claims should be for Cardiff to sort, and that includes any possible future foul play/negligence issues that may or may not arise.
But then I got to thinking... Our (work) sales invoices state that the goods are to remain our property until they have been paid for in full. I hasten to add, that is goods, not human beings!
Either way, it's a sorry state of affairs, and those involved should not forget there are two lives lost... one of them apparently still not found!

Another take on both the Leicester and Cardiff tragedies is one that will probably also get me some grief, so I don't mean this with any disrespect to the deceased, but is there not a point an element of these deaths was so needless, yet driven by wealth and status and entitlement
Leicester owner flies helicopter from Leicester to London, when there is a regular train service that takes about an hour and if he wants privacy could have gone by car. But he's rich enough to own a helicopter so forget that. Granted any form of transport is not safe, but I suspect helicopter is considerably less safe than train or car.
And with Sala it's just bonkers that he tried to get from France to Cardiff by some kind of light aircraft?! What was so urgent that he couldn't just get the Ryanair? He's moving football club, not escaping wartime occupied France.
Just so sad that we all strive for as much money as possible like it solves every problem, but it can't buy your life ?

Don't worry in a couple of months time, with all the great new trade deals in place and all those johnny foreigners being shown the door. There'll be more jobs available than there are highly skilled university graduates to fill them.
Good job this is the joke thread or people may take it seriously.
