You only needed a handful of games under Rosenior to understand what the plan was.  A year into Warnes tenure and I've still not got a clue how he wants us to play.  We're never the same from one game to the next.

Agree with this... But to play devils advocate are we witnessing a degree of pragmatism? Clearly wanted 3 at the back and thought he'd recruited to that regard (Bradley hasn't started well). Then we get a load of injuries so we try to cope implementing different styles, formation and systems. I'll give him till Christmas. If its not working at least give the new guy a window to salvage something.

  2. How differently we're operated now... By all accounts we've been in for 2-3 players. Almost nothing in the rumour mill! We have no idea who's coming in and any links are tenuous at best. Previously every sports journalist had the inside track on Derby, particularly the 'not so' reluctant Nicko! Just another example of how we're being run professionally in my opinion. Wonder if it will change in the summer when the FFP / business plan shackles loosen?

  3. Would love to be there next season. Sadly I can't be, as I'm relocating overseas. Will give them the £100 or so for Rams TV overseas. Hopefully Kirchner comes through today but suspect Ashley is our man. As long as we have a club I will be happy. That's what we need to keep coming back to when we are deriding a particular option. At least we have some options!!!

Maybe, but he’s exchanged based on conditions which still means his liability is extremely low - until he starts spending money anyway.

My worry is that he’s been able to exchange contracts, conditionally, if for nothing else but to keep others (Mike Ashley) from the door.

I hope that’s not the case, but certainly can see a scenario where that is the reality.

I'm with Ambitious but also very hopeful. No celebrations till it's done and Mel Morris is past tense where Derby is concerned.

  5. I'll go with something positive... Ashley is my preference of the two (the only two!).  Hopefully he will pay 20p in the pound and we don't have 35p in the pound debt repayment to service over two years.  Should mean that our business plan is less restrictive revenue wise.  If Wayne Rooney believes in the Kirch's vision what is stopping Mike Ashley tapping into that?  "I tell you what Wayne, you can have Gary Cook and your agent on the board as planned, I'll give you a better budget.  Ooooo and we'll be able to maximise on all that PP revenue because we'll own it".

We are of course still incredibly beholden to one man for any of this to happen.... Mel Morris MBE

If on offer I take zero percent interest options to pay things over a period and keep the money in my bank earning me interest despite being in the fortunate position i could pay cash, the numbers we are talking here are such that keeping the money and investing at a level he's done in the past to make his fortune is probably more appealing to CK than paying it out in 1 go, doesn't mean he can't.

Yes I take your point.  However, presumably you expenditure won't be closely monitored by a regulating body and you don't have to work to a strict business plan.   If your commitment to various interest free loans were going to affect your flexibility to invest elsewhere I doubt you would sign up.

My view is.... 20% up front and a blank slate is much better than dragging it out over 3 years and that affecting our ability to invest (it might not do though, they may partition this type of debt so its a commitment but not in the business plan - I doubt it though!).

Before anytime panics, share capital (£1 in this instance) <> money in the back as amusingly claimed by the esteemed 'Football finance expert' about on one of the previous bidders....

His date of birth is wrong on the filings.... 1967! There's our hold up later on down the line ?

I left Muscat in 2019 after 4 happy years, now in Mexico City.
There are/were a couple of Rams fans in UAE, but none I found in Oman

RAMS TV is the way forward, although you can't watch matches that are dark markets only.
One thing to note is that if you are thinking of using a VPN, you do need to set up your VPN before you get there, as if UAE is like Oman, all the VPN sites were blocked.

Good knowledge! Appreciate the heads up!

  9. Moving out to the UAE in early June and just wondered if there were many Rams about out there and how you go about watching games?  RAMS TV Rest of the world subscription?

Would be up for grabbing a sparkling water ? and watching the match with a fellow Ram!

    Cheers

  10. I don't think this is good news at all.  If our new chairman is loaded why don't we just pay 25p in the pound and be done with it.  35p in the pound over 3 years sounds like kicking the can down the road.  There is only one reason (as I see it you would do that).... you don't have the money.  People will come back and say this may allow CK to invest in the squad earlier on.....

Nixon been going on about how it’s possible.

if Derby disappear though I’ll be done with football other than England in tournaments.

This is kinda how I feel.  Its not just Derby's situation either.  Ultimately money and power corrupt.  We now have situations where games are won and lost in a backroom somewhere with some seemingly some infallible person makes decisions.  We all have our moment where we say things like 'the games gone'.  My dad used to be a diehard fan... he lost the love at the beginning of the premier league years and has never got it back.  Having said that he still listens to the games on Radio Derby and will watch when we are on Sky.  Many (not all... and to those fans I salute.) of us will get to a point where you no longer recognise the game you love.  The money in the game is one thing but to have a regulatory body treat our club the way the EFL have is mine.  Will always be a supporter but my life won't revolve around Derby County anymore.  Arranging my day around a 3pm Sat kick off, checking the fixture list before we make plans....  Making deals with mates whos gonna queue up for a ticket to Forest.  Will visit Pride Park (or Saltergate!) 3-4 times a year now.

The fanbase will stay strong though and I celebrate that.  For young fans this is the game they know and love but I suspect that love will be challenged in a different way; introduction of orange cards, sin bins, 1 robot player per team, various power ups or 1 robot player per team! ?

  12. Nothing will happen until after the transfer window closes. I suspect the EFL and the membership are worried about us going into administration (paying 25p in the pound or whatever has been agreed) then getting taken over by a new owner and spending this window. It would be a slap in the face to our past creditors and as a Derby fan that one would not sit right with me. I just hope we don't lose anymore of our players for peanuts. The dream is still on.... Just.
