I think Jozwiak's best period last season, was when Bielik was playing.
This could be for a number of reasons:
A, he felt more settled with a fellow Pole in the team.
B, he benefited from having a better player giving him quicker and better passes.
C, he benefited from playing in a team playing with more confidence at the time.
Like many players, past and present, he seems to be a 'confidence' player. Hopefully, he can get and maintain that confidence next season.

More wise heads after the event I see. Also slightly revisionist. Mel never bragged about having half the team being academy products. He discussed a plan for sustainability that involved up to half the matchday squad having come through the youth system.
To be honest, I'm not really sure how the academy set up can be viewed as any kind of failure or let down.  The investment is already producing a steady stream of players quite capable of playing at Championship level or higher and a fair few already playing for their respective countries. If we really must continue slinging poo at our owner, I'd cite our recruitment of senior players as a key factor. The academy wouldn't even get a mention.
Frankly, I've no problem with us selling Bogle and Lowe when we have McDonald, Festy, Stretton, Brown, Bird, Watson, SIbley and Buchanan coming through. Our problem is poor recruitment of senior pros not the academy project.

Phew, I feared this was a thread saying he was being moved on when I first saw it. I need to calm down a bit. Agreed that on the whole he was a shining light in what was a pretty dismal season.

Good news for us imo, with his injury problems this season it can only benefit us with him having a decent break before preseason. People can criticise him but he played an important part in us staying up.

Regardless of the outcome, the EFL have lost any credibility to govern the league and if anything, our case has brought out the need to completely rebuild the hierarchy in charge of our division.
When the EFL originally lost the case against Mel and DCFC, the honorable thing to do by the EFL would have been to accept that loopholes in the rules were exposed and used to our advantage, however that is not down to the club being in the wrong. The accounts were signed off. They have taken zero responsibility for their part in this mess and have taken all steps to cover their failings. I am a critic of how Mel has ran the football club however I will back him against these muppets.
If the EFL had questioned our practices at the time, the club would have needed to accept the consequences for breaking rules. This was authorised by the league. If I was at work and I signed off somebody's documentation, I would be the one responsible for any repercussions if there were problems.
    Not fit for purpose.

I thought I’d read somewhere that they don’t apply points deduction to already relegated teams for that very reason - it would be a meaningless punishment.

If we do eventually get a points deduction, even if it is only 2 or 3 points, then Steve Gibson has kept us in the division.
His meddling and throwing his toys out of the pram delayed the verdict by at least 5 months, only for all of his crying to be thrown out and no wrongdoing proved. This means that any deduction we may get would have been applied to the season that’s just finished rather than the next season.
Whatever happens, and as disappointing as it is, it’s still absolutely hilarious that Mr Gibson has done nothing but help us, and the bill for the honour will be footed by every other club.
    Thanks Steve, now run along.

A bit of poetic justice all round, between him and Chelsea, they royally screwed us over with the protracted move 18 months ago. No respect was paid to Derby whatsoever, we didn't even receive any help in the loan department afterwards.
He needed to serve a decent apprenticeship before taking on a job like that, not one lucky season with Derby made to look better because of a large number of worldy goals from Wilson.
He should have built something at Derby and given himself a better shot at Chelsea a couple of years down the line. Lets face it, chelsea never hang on to a manager for very long. Now, his reputation is tarnished and he will find it difficult to get another club.
Chelsea, in the meantime have wasted a couple of hundred million quid in the transfer market and ruined the reputation of  one of their 'greats'.

I remember the squeeze coming out of the Popside every game. I used to lift my feet off the ground and see how far I could go, before having to put them down again.
That was a long time before Hillsborough and Just seemed to be a fun thing to do.

I remember sitting in the A stand for the last few seasons and made many good friends, especially my mate Paul from Belper and I come up from Brum,  we still sit  together now.
There was one fellow in the A stand, a true English gentleman, but biased as hell. All match, every match he used to berate the ref with such classics as 'shows us your red shirt referee or put your glasses on referee or you bounder referee or you hound referee ', that was his favourite. But he never swore, until one match when the ref was having a shocker and he said after all the usual insults 'referee, refereeeeee, you're a, you're a, you're a............. You're a bastaaaaaaaaad!!
Silence descended all around him and we all turned to look at him. Sheepishly and with a very red face, he said 'well, he is' we all fell about laughing.
