Anyone who’s watched more than I have report on any surprises there?

The likes of Alfie Roberts, Harrison Foulkes, Will Grewal-Pollard, Harrison Solomon, Rhys Brailsford, Cian Kelly Caprani, Olamide Ibrahim, Osazee Aghatise, Connor Dixon and Bartosz Cybulski have been in the U18s and U21s for a number of seasons now.

Sadly, if they haven’t broken into the first team squad (even the fringes) after the last two seasons in the Championships, and this season in League One, then you have to question if they ever will!

Isn't he also a 1st year pro, with most youngsters typically getting 2 year deals?

I may be wrong but I think the average first year pros at Derby get a one year deal with the club having the option of a further year.

I think its’s only the outstanding prospects that get a first pro contract for longer than one year.

    But I may be wrong.

Eliot Henks - 18 year old CM from Brighton. Been in and out of their U18 squad this season, but has 1 goal and 3 assists in 11 games.

Sorry to be pedantic but I think it’s Eliot Jenks.

  4. The following players are all under contract until the summer of 2024:

    Goalkeeper: Joe Wildsmith.

Defenders: Eiran Cashin, Jake Rooney, Kwaku Oduroh.

Midfield: Max Bird, Conor Hourihane, Jason Knight*, Korey Smith, Louie Sibley, Liam Thompson, Krystian Bielik.

    Wingers: Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Tom Barkhuizen.

    Strikers: James Collins.

    * = Derby to exercise one year extension option.

So a squad of 14 players (effectively 12 if you discount Oduroh and Bielik).

  5. Apologies if this has been asked before, but where are the best places to park on matchdays for games at Pride Park Stadium?

I’m asking for a friend who has tickets for the Burton Albion game.

I have a season ticket in Car Park A and find myself unable to advise him as I’ve never needed to pay attention to alternative parking.

Many thanks in advance for any advice and suggestions.

Hourihane is 2 years, as per the club announcement when he joined.

    Yep.

    https://www.dcfc.co.uk/news/2022/07/hourihane-next-through-the-door-as-rams-land-international-midfielder

“Republic of Ireland international Conor Hourihane has become the latest player to join Derby County.

The central midfielder has penned a two-year contract with the Rams, running until the summer of 2024, after successfully completing a medical…”
