I seem to remember 2 instances where we had players thrown to the ground in their penalty area. That attack on Barks in the 2nd half just inside their half isn't on the highlights reel so I'll fast forward on the full 90 to see why they got a throw in rather than us getting a free kick and their defender a possible (red?) card.

The tackle on Barkhuizen looked fantastic from the Toyota upper. Perfectly timed.

    Multi-syllabic-named players

Assuming he passes his medical, I suspect Corey-Blackett-Taylor (6 syllables) will be the player with the joint-most syllables ever to have played for the Rams. Furthermore, there is a rising trend here what with Nath-an-iel-Men-des-Laing and Ty-reece-John-Ju-les. Oh I long for the days of the mono-syllabics like Mick Coop, Tom Ince, Dave Webb et alia. No wonder we can't come up with any decent songs that scan prop-er-ly 😲

    NML is 7?

I hope to God we can keep JJ fit and beyond January because he's the instinctive finisher that this team has lacked.

And for the Collins haters - he worked his ass off again tonight.

    5 wins on the trot.

Agreed about JJ and Collins, but if you’re including the EFL trophy I’m afraid you also have to include the FA Cup loss 😅

I don’t remember Smith changing things either or Pearson. If he did though, it must have been a preseason change or the rules were different then. The current rules are clear - you can’t change your pitch size mid season.

It might have even been Davies. Someone definitely did. But yeah, has to be done at the beginning of the season. Just like when you chose or declined the multi ball system.

Rule 13.2 of the EFL handbook states that clubs must register their pitch dimensions at the start of the season and these can only be altered during the season with the EFL’s written consent which will be only be given in exceptional circumstances.

Maybe it was different in Jim Smith’s time.

Don’t remember Smith ever changing them. We made use of the wider pitch at Pride Park. There was definitely a manager afterwards who made it narrower. Maybe Pearson.

Half-marks allowed; please rate all subs. Closes Thursday @ 18:00. Results by Thursday 22:00. Average is 6.00. Therefore, when a sub steps on the pitch he is on 6 - that's the baseline. Also indicate ATG (at the game) or TV (Tv)

The biggest disappointment for me has been Hourihane, with the experience he has playing at this and a lot higher level, I thought he would dominate games from the centre of the park. But for me it seems to be the opposite, his first 3 passes on Saturday were launched 40 feet up in the air and he’s supposed to be our creative midfielder. I didn’t expect him having the pace or physicality but did expect him demanding the ball and running games, instead of going missing half the time. Is he just well past his best or maybe not buying into how Warne wants him to play, or even doesn’t no how he wants him to play?

Or knows exactly how he wants him to play, which is to aim percentage balls down the channels?

If this is a genuine opinion Id question whether you actually watch us play.

I cant think of many who are less 'half-arsed' than Collins.

His major problem is that he doesn't get many chances, mainly because he is never in the right place at the right time, and this is usually due to the fact he is tearing round the pitch trying to win the ball and consequently is very rarely in the box when the ball gets delievered.

Its something even Paul Warne alluded to in one of his interviews. Something along the lines of 'if we could get Collo to spend more time standing between the posts we think he'd score a hatful of goals'.

Absolutely and makes it even more bizarre that he still can’t manage to do it.

People saying we need something different and pace....Smith would offer something different as he is a giant.

I understand the want & need for pace but so many teams sit deep against us that pace is pretty irrelevant. However, Washington does offer the pace & runs in behind opposition defences.

Are you thinking of Matt Smith? He's 6'6. Michael Smith is 6'3.

I think it's the latter - I'd imagine the numbers would've needed to be sorted early into in the negotiation. Rhodes is on £1m+ per annum at Huddersfield. It's not a contract we can walk into and take on, like we believe we did with Collins.

Rhodes, if signed, will be our highest paid player. I would've assume it would've looked something like £15k a week over two years or within that region to make it worthwhile.

Where have you got £1m+ a year from!?

Or, paid his bloody bills and then sold us at the end of the season for far more than he has got out of the stadium, like any sensible businessman.

I mean, he could have rang Mike Ashley and said "hey Mike, fancy buying Derby for 30 million, stadium and everything" and Mike would probably have snapped his hand off.

Unfortunately, Mel thinks he knows what he is doing, but very clearly doesn't know his arse from his elbow.

Since when has Mike Ashley snapped any ones hand off? He buys failed businesses for the very bottom price or walks away.

Green is such a lower league colour. You don't often get top teams with green kits, even away ones.

Man United and Liverpool have both had green away kits. I’d like the change.

Actually, scrap that. Messes with my colour blindness ?

Prob a contract thing with the supplier rather than a club choice. How many years left with Umbro? Can’t wait to see a new brand if honest.

I’ve quite like our Umbro kits. Just not buying one if I’m a walking advertisement for a betting company. It was good how they sold some without the sponsor last season.

Total cost of my 3 tickets has gone up by 27%. Paid £815 for 2020/21 and the 3 tickets would cost £1,035 over 23 games in 2021/22. Haven't changed seats and none of us has moved age bands.

Are you South West upper too?
