So clearly now the ‘out’ argument is that with that budget it should have been easy and my 9yo could have managed us to promotion 🤪
A factor I haven’t seen mentioned is that we had about 4 players 20 months ago. It is always going to cost more to get what was required, firstly a team, then competitive then winning. Our squad was not huge, but I’m betting we signed twice as many in 20 months than any other team.

Probably an unpopular opinion but, I’d retain all of them (on the right terms) as long as the extra 5 plus are still brought in.
Experience will be needed as well as a larger squad. We’ll be doing far more chasing the ball next year!

They could get around that last problem by actually implanting the tracker to the precise centre of the player's body.
A bit like A fantastic voyage, but without the "4 men and a beautiful girl"...

We’ll burn that bridge when we come to it.
lets have another good 45 mins, a couple of goals and that will do for the time being
And a bit of a party🥳

SSN just said it’s 100 Rams games for NML today? That can’t be true?

Understood - all I am saying is that the higher level you play at, the harder it is to look like quality. I’m just saying if Ebou was playing against the quality that DPFG was playing against, his technique would not appear as good.
I’d wager the worst Derby player you have seen would be virtually impossible to dispossess by us mere mortals…
Played a few matches in a recreational team quite a few years back with about 5 ex Derby players, I was in awe and the striking/leaping/timing and awareness was incredible.

Would genuinely love to know what went through the guys head when he decided he should try and chest that in 🤣
Definitely not the ball

Can someone tell me why you would put your ‘T’ initial on your shirt if your surname is Watson? 😆

Boooo! Warne in!
I’m lost…are we sacking the bobble wearing one or hailing Paul the messiah this week?
-
Boooooo, Warne out…no players want to play for him. Club has no ambition.

I don’t like him as a manager, I don’t like the way that his football is often being played, resulting in us continually giving the ball to the opposition to play with; it drives me nuts.
When we play football and retain possession, we are a much better side. We are capable of that but we don’t see it enough.
I am not critical of him taking the job, but tactically he is outdone by others too many times. I am baffled by the decision of our sole owner to offer the job to him.
Possession stats alone over the last 3 matches clearly show this not to be the case.

Does this imply that with the sale of Knight we might be close to breaking even this season/next accounting period? If that is the case then it is a phenomenal job by all at the club to be where we are in the table.

Shelia in Gregs- all new signings can’t walk past without getting a sausage roll.

I just can’t understand how anyone thought this was a bad idea….at absolute worst he would be a good option at this level…who clearly loves the club and always works hard…at his best and playing in his position…apparently it is a goal every half he plays!
I really can’t believe the expectations of some ‘fans’.

someone tell me which camp I should be in…

And Exeter are already deservedly league leaders by putting the Wyc*#>$s at the bottom of the table by 2 goals in the first 5 minutes 😆

Yeah this is my thoughts as well, we seem to have addressed none of the issues with the squad last season.
like you say hopefully is more to come.
Apart from adding actual wing backs that can cross the ball?

A really promising signing…I wouldn’t be surprised to see him play with ward on the right at some point.

I cannot see why a club would hold for 3 weeks for an additional 100-150k taking into account wages, cost in negotiation , potential injury, a loss of a transfer target they may need cash in for. Then come out 50-75 k better off. Therefore, I think it entirely plausible that this tiny upgrade in offer with a minimal add on came about following our managers interview as a take it or leave it end game knowing they were in the drivers seat.
What if the extra money was added to different budget pots re the business plan and ffp?
Also, if he was to get injured he’d probably stay, (insurance pay wages) then play for us (which everyone wants) and still be worth same amount at the end of his contract.
As for the actual value, maybe we said £2m (for example) after the £1.5 offer. They came back 100k short. We told them to take it or leave it.
Ultimately there are so many variables we can guess on but some people choose options to fit their agenda.

Just seen this ( and couldn’t find any mention of it on here)
I thought he came across well, aware of his start and initial performances but keen to show he was ever present in training all season and it was pointed out that he played most of the last 17 games.
