Shouldn't we all be thinking of Rhodes as being another McGoldrick? The similarities are there for many to see, yet mostly, the negatives are his scoring record is not what it used to be (if it was we'd need to find £5m), his hair is thinning and he can't run the 100m in under 11 seconds? A rotation of Collins, Washington and Rhodes, with a little bit of Dajourne Brown, maybe some Sibley and Barkhuizen thrown in, looks okay to me for building a squad to get us out of this division. At least most have heard of him, know what an excellent career he has had, and didn't have to look him up on Wiki.

Rhodes is nothing like Didzy at all …Didzy is a clever player who’s always had more about his game than scoring …Didzy could easily play as a 10

Rhodes is a striker and not a 10,doesn’t have the guile and vision that Didzy has and is predominantly a striker and not much else but definitely knows where the goal is

Watch a game on telly and you may not think much of Collins.

Watch Collins live and you'll see someone who gives his all and makes loads of very decent runs that generally don't get noticed by team mates. He may have the odd strop when he doesn't get played in but it doesn't stop him making those runs.

With Joe Ward's crossing, someone half as good at LWB and possibly Bird or Hourihane playing more advanced, I think he'll bag 20+ this year.

    Delighted he scored last night.

I watched it live but saw the highlights when I got back.

Here's a freeze frame BEFORE Joe Ward receives the ball.

The player with his arm in the air is the 'useless, unintelligent, lazy etc etc' Collins.......halfway through a 40 yard run, anticipating play, showing where he wants the ball........towards the end of a pre-season friendly 'that doesn't matter'. How many times does he do this and not get the delivery?

Brilliant stuff mate no one can say Collins doesn’t give 100 per cent

he’s good enough for L1 and he’ll get 20 this season

  3. I can still feel the sunken feeling when I saw Benett was playing

I really do think Marriott and Waghorn should’ve started

I imagined they looked at our team sheet and thought yep!  nothing up top

But the problem there is we get killed if/when they do break on us.  The penalty against Sheff Wed in the final game was exactly that - Jason Knight gets caught up field and they're basically immediately running straight at Curtis Davies.

Cashin isn't exactly the quickest, and I don't think Bradley is either, so the last thing we want is to set up situations where the opposition get to run at them repeatedly during games.

This is simply not true regarding the Weds game

we battered them in the first half and a mistake cost us from a back pass and should never have been a red card

we battered a team who got promoted but didn’t score that’s the positives I took from that game

And yet he was always in place to receive and  hold up the ball. Knew when to press to close the man down and is good in the air and at winning free kicks.

I expect that he will be after a championship contract.

Yeah just call him god lol 😂

Rhodes will demand big wages (on par with Hourihane) and at 33 y/o has surely seen his best days, 9 league goals in 58 games over the last two years with the terriers doesn’t scream goal scorer to me. Why is Johnson Clarke Harris (Posh) not being looked at? At 28 y/o entering his prime, a proven goal getter at this level, transfer listed by posh, in the last year of his contract and will cost less in wages. Seems a real no brainer to me.
Use the Knight fee and go and get him!

cos JCH is s**** rather have Ladapo

  7. Would we be happy with a Godden, Ladapo double swoop considering there ages ?

it would definitely make our forward line look a lot better but i think its important we get a midfielder who isn't afraid  to get forward / break the lines and score a few , our midfield lacks goals apart from Hourihane

So preseason isn’t important then .

We need the new players to integrate.

Warne has been saying he didn’t have a preseason with his players and the players were not signed by him .

Im not criticizing Warne I like him but he can’t have it both ways

so what should Warne and DCFC do then ?? ....just sign anyone to please you ?

or wait and get the right player/players ? The better strikers will have more than one option

Do you not think Warne and lots of other managers would like there squad to be complete by now ?

I was watching these highlights earlier and couldn’t believe the chances missed in this game.

Two of those were from Collins. No idea what he was thinking for his first chance and for me summed up his footballing IQ.

Interesting  that considering we were a possesion based side under Rosenior we go long a few times to mix it up in those highlights....If that was under Warne the hoofball accusers would be out in force

We should've been 3-4 up at HT and it cost us in the end

No need to stfu, was just hoping to reassure you that he’s there and involved. In the foreground of the first pic hands on hips, so big his head wouldn’t fit in shot! On the left of the second one. To the right of Hourihane on the third one. On the left of the fourth one.

And yeah, agree on Hourihane and Thommo. Smith seems to be prominent in a couple of bits and Collins, senior pros setting the example and being a bit of a leadership group maybe?

    Thankyou for this much appreciated

we seem to have a few more tattoos in the squad now and now you point it out can see clearly it’s Bradley 🤦‍♂️lol

was just a bit worried like all new players want them to fit straight in and think Bradley has big chance to be very influential once he settles in but he’s clearly involved as you point out

    Thankyou 👍🏻

    He’s definitely there and involved, he’s in a number of the videos shared by the club, showed up several times during drills in the 6 min video shared on day 1 and he’s in the background of this one a couple times with a bib on looking very much a part of the drill;

Is he on far side in first part with Hourihane  nearside ? Must be my eyes lol 😂 if so then I’ll stfu 😂

have to say both Hourihane and Tommo really seem to be working hard in all clips
