Derby are a bigger club than Villarreal.

How many of these are international stars who would attract a following?
How many of these are regulars for a club playing European football?

I said it’s global reputation. Teams like Villarreal have one because they play in Europe’s elite competition and have elite players.
It’s not that difficult to understand is it?
The wider fanbase goes hand in hand with global reputation and elite stars playing for them.
Real Madrid have a legion of Mexican followers because of Hugo Sanchez.
I don’t see Derby having a legion of followers because of Bradley Johnson…

Derby have never been a similar size to West Ham. We're a similar size club to West Brom, Norwich and Coventry City. Not West Ham who are and always have been a top 10 sized club in this country.
 

None.  We've had loads. Even when we crap we had Kazim-Richards who played for Turkey and had a huge following in Brazil and Mexico.  I'd leave it here mate.😂

Countries follow their star players. In Mexico they regularly have updates on Feyenoord because of Santiago Gimenez.

Even if we had beaten Villa, we were in a hole then and promotion may not have helped.
If you could go back to one point, it was at the end of 2014/15.
Even if you sack McClaren. Don’t go and spend £25m in one summer on a bunch of random players and hire a manager who’d never managed before.
That summer alone is the primary reason we went down to League One. Every bad decision after that was a consequence of trying to rectify the monumental mistakes made that summer.

You know when football has lost its spark when most conversations are now built around finances.
I miss the old days.

Paul Warne is a League One Neil Warnock. Great at that level, gets found out at a level above.
 

Leeds will blow the Championship away next season with Farke in charge.
Both Southampton and Leeds are currently better than the 3 that came down.
And the 3 that came down will lose some of their better players. In Burnley’s case, their manager.
Leeds and Southampton will probably be swapping places in 12 months time.

I respect your opinion, and the size of clubs is subjective to how one perceives it.
Matchday revenue only takes you so far. I’d agree if we are talking a difference of 45k to 20k, but we are talking a matter or 5k here or there which for our level doesn’t impact our potential.
I don’t deny Derby vs Forest would attract a bigger audience than Palace vs Brighton if in the same league.
I just don’t think that really matters. A player isn’t going to choose Derby over Brighton because we get an extra 5k through the door, nor would it make much of a difference in terms of budgets at the top table when the overall PL commercial deal is ultimately the biggest revenue stream.
In 25 years if following Derby I’ve seen us compete in the PL for about 20% of that. I’ve seen how getting an extra 5k through the door has accounted for diddly squat when teams like Palace, Fulham, Brighton, Brentford, Leicester etc. have outperformed us during that time.
I’ve seen Derby lose their manager to Stoke, their better players to Palace and teams with lesser attendances and trophyless cabinets go on to play in Europe. 
We may have been a bigger club once. Not anymore.

Rosenior has a better CV than Russell Martin prior to him getting the Southampton job.
Clubs will look at Rosenior and see he ticks a lot of boxes.
