It has, however, not yet been announced.  If he is to arrive, he's for the U18s and one for the future and is typical of the sirt of thing Mark Thomas did when he was at Oxford. Pick up talented youngsters and see them develop into 1st teamers who then move on at a handsome profit. Hopefully, in our case, we'll have a team consisting of 5 or 6 of these young guns in a few years who are PL ready and will go there with DCFC rather than being sold on. To avoid confusion, yes, I do want promotion asap but I am of the opinion that we need a period of consolidation building up to promotion over, maybe, 3 or 4 years. Our past 2 seasons have seen Rosenior rush a squad together on a shoestring. Double figures replaced by PW on maybe a shoestring and a half. We'll see double figures coming in this summer too, IMO. Ipswich built their L1 promotion side over 4 years. This coming season is the first in 3 where we can look to start the build.

Went to Barry Manilow at the Palladium the other night. An excellent Vegas-style set. Apologies to @richinspainbut sold next weekend's James tickets as too busy to go. Never seen Barry - have seen James loads, who are excellent live. And weirdly Tim Booth and Gordon Strachan are big mates!
Next up it's The Killers on independence day, which is now also general election day! 

This for everyone who, right now, wishes they were somewhere else....
 

I strongly suspect our own little mark of respect was the polar opposite of the Normandy beaches today… In terms of the numbers. 
Literally nobody there when we pootled in. (The museum-in-the-bunker was closed, but the grounds and outside relics (tanks/armoured vehicles/pontoons/artillery posts etc) were all accessible and presumably so 24/7?)
One lady cyclist turned up 10 minutes later. A couple in a UK reg motorhome pulled in just as we were leaving. 
It doesn’t get much more peaceful than that, and offered us the perfect backdrop for us to spare a few moments to give thanks to ALL those that paid the ultimate price, to enable us to then enjoy the freedom to devour our excellent baguette sandwiches in glorious sunshine!  😎
An hour well spent, and very much appreciated. 

PS:  Took the scenic route, and ended up pootling all day, and just surpassing the 40 mile mark. 
Ain’t freedom great!

As soon as they'd landed, French immigration and customs officials checked the papers of British Paratroopers who parachuted into Normandy yesterday for the D-Day commemorations:-
There's no record of whether they tried this delaying tactic on the German Army in May 1940.
 

Well, none of them look under 60, but they might be ok for us!

Kind of off topic… but kind of not!
After being on the Normandy beaches for the past two D Days, we’ve decided to put a whole new twist on things tomorrow, and will be spreading our thoughts and respects to all, regardless of which team they played for, as we visit the “Memorial Museum of the Maginot Line of the Rhine.”
Just “The right side of the border”! 👀, and only a 20mile return pootle away from our campsite. Just a small section of the first (French) line of defence, which effectively achieved nowt, as the Germans just took the long way round via Belgium! 🙄
Appreciate it ain’t Normandy, and there’s no connection in the true sense, but it still kind of seems fitting, under the circumstances!  
Im sure our main thoughts shall remain 450 miles WNW of here though. It’d be rude not to!

I did, Hartlepool away in the FA Cup around Oct/Nov time, Their pitch was worse than the BBG, Coop came off the pitch cleaner than when he ran out of their tunnel at the start of the game...an absolute turd of a player for DCFC 🙄
