ColonelBlimp reacted to The Baron in The Administration Thread
Hi HB
I will try and unpick the different elements.
In respect of the 12 point deduction for going into administration, it seems fair, Wigan were subject to a similar deduction when they went into admin themselves. The claim that Covid was the sole reason for administration is a weak one as (a) why did it not happen to other clubs? and (b) there were already significant sums owed to HMRC prior to Covid.
For the stadium issue, whilst the rules seem daft, they were still the rules. I'm not qualified to value stadiums, but have spoken to people who are, and so think the club was correctly found not guilty on this issue.
As far as amortisation is concerned, it's a tricky one. Neither Mel Morris nor Stephen Pearce were the architects of the change to the accounting policy, but they were happy to utilise it and the short term benefits it gave to the club's P&S calculations.
IMO, I think the new policy was in breach of FRS 102 and reduced losses by about £30m. I have had a discussion with Stephen Pearce in relation to this, and we professionally agreed to disagree.
It is then the responsibility of those prosecuting to put the case put forward for the EFL at the IDC. The case presented was weak, their expert witness put forward a muddled explanation, and if you lose, as they did, then they should have accepted it with good grace, and not appealed the first ruling.
As for having an agenda against Derby, I would defend myself on this. I monitor and comment on social media in relation to all clubs in England and Scotland (and Wales) because I'm very boring and have no friends. The aim is to be objective and non-partisan, I have even been known to say positive things about Crystal Palace, who as a Brighton fan, I loathe. I've provided assistance (unpaid) to staff members affected by the administration, contributed £92 to the 'buy a ticket' crowdfunder for DCFC fans, and whilst I fully understand that some people are sick and tired of hearing my voice on t'radio and comments in the written press, the media contact me, not the other way round. More than happy to take on board criticism, although the death threats on social media (not this forum) are not pleasant to receive.

Mmm, not been to the Jura as yet, will have to consider that. I'll do some googling.
When I said eastern France I meant Alsace-Lorraine area, Colmar in particular and its environs is lovely and you can pop into Germany or Switzerland for the day.

We've been to the Jura (Domaine du Chalain) in Eastern France about half dozen times and love it. Also been to near Saumer.
This year we're in Le Bugue (19 miles from Sarlat).
Thanks for your best wishes. She had the treatment (surgery, chemo and radiotherapy) just before Covid and everything seems to be OK now.

Whereabouts in the Loire? We’ve been there a few times.
We’re driving (as in I’m doing all the driving) to a site in the Dordogne in 5 weeks. We’re not resort people and can’t even be doing with hotels. Our first overseas holiday since Covid, my mum passing away and my wife’s cancer diagnosis. I think we deserve one.

Cancelled my September trip to Corfu, we both thought about it and realised we're not resort people, never have been.
Booked a week on a campsite in the Loire instead, 6 weeks after 10 days at Lake Annecy, also on a campsite.

I kind of agree with @KBB to some extent.
Whilst I do live in Derby, it took me 50 years to get here and I'm not from the area so haven't developed the local hatred ( is that too strong?)
The only team I have any real dislike for is Leicester and that's because of the play-off final, their Admin shenanigans and the sickly media love-in they had.
I would have preferred Luton to go up as I went to school there for 4 years, or Huddersfield because of great Aunt Minnie who's funeral I attended.
Dad was a Wednesday fan so not Sheff Utd either.
Huddersfield it is then ?

100%
I have never lived in Derby or Nottingham and don't know any forest fans at all. I don't have all the "banter" on a daily basis or the dislike thst many of our fan base have.
They do deserve their day at Wembley. They have had a superb season. One to be proud of. Have probably the best young player in the league, some very good loan signings and a manager who I think will go to the top-level.
Does it pain me to say that? No, because I think even the most one eyed of us have to reluctantly say its true.
The league table does not lie.
Forest are on the cusp of the "dream" we chased in the wrong way and are now paying the price for. Will they do it? I think they might.

Well my morning glory has extended into the afternoon (but that may be because I have got my pills mixed up again).
Some really good news in the last 12 hours but reading some posts on here you might think differently. Whether CK has the wherewithal to achieve great things for our Club in the future is anyone’s guess, but to exchange contracts is a huge step and not to be derided or undermined. Yes, let’s not get carried away, but why so many doomsayers want to continue to pick everything apart is beyond me. CK HAS STOPPED THE DOOMSDAY CLOCK. He has shown his commitment. It is now up to Morris/MSD to finalise the stadium sale to some third party, who is supportive of CK’s proposals. Well done CK. I hope this works out for you and us. Up the Rams!

Erm, not really
Clueless
Even more clueless. CK's offer is worth more than that
Only hope? ?

So Kirchner is back in the US. Not sure which bit but that means 5-8 hours time difference.
He'll have to go in the office and plough through all his emails, check facebook and the "are we there yet?" questions on Twitter.
Deal with anything work related.
Contact Quantuma to see if they have the latest drafts of any agreement documents. Then, again, to ask them when they expect to start drawing up such drafts.
Rooney is in court, trying to suppress any laughter at Rebekakakah Vardy's testimony. Isn't he also being called as a witness?
Oh, and I'm sure Kirchner will want a bit of time with wife and kids if only to explain that, on a private plane, you don't go through the airport terminus where he could've picked up last minute gifts for them. So he may have to take them out for a meal by way of apology.
So, taking all of that into account, I still think an announcement of the takeover could be as early as the first week in June.
Word of an extension - from Nixon - late evening.

ColonelBlimp reacted to Ramplestiltskin in DCFC Forum Player Ratings 2021/22 - SEASON REVIEW
Man of the Match Awards (half an award given when a tie occurred)
Jagielka 4
Ebiowei 4
Bird 3.5
Allsop 3.5
Cashin 3.5
Knight 3
Lawrence 3
Byrne 3
Thompson 3
Forsyth 2
Shinnie 2
Ebosele 2
Morrison 2
Roos 2
Davies 1.5
Sibley 1
Stearman 1
Plange 1
Kazim 1
So Phil Jagielka and Malcom Ebiowei share the crown with four MotM awards each, a feat made all the more impressive when you consider Jags left in January and Ebiowei didn't make his first appearance until late in the season.
That Big Curt was toward the bottom of the list perhaps emphasises his steady contributions throughout, as backed up by the Podium stats.
The Academy graduates collected between them 21 of the 46 awards (45.65%), which increases to 23 awards (50% quickmath) if we include Roos.
Podium Awards (for making the top three in a match rating, half an award as above)
Davies 14.5
Bird 13
Byrne 13
Allsop 12
Cashin 9.5
Jagielka 9
Knight 9
Ebosele 8
Shinnie 6
Lawrence 6
Thompson 6
Ebiowei 6
Forsyth 5
Morrison 4
Roos 4
Kazim 3
Plange 3
Buchanan 2
Stearman 2
Sibley 2
Bielik 1
No surprise perhaps to see CD33 at the head of that list. He played every minute of every match and despite the odd dip in form - which you can forgive any centre back at his age - he was magnificent.
Fantastic to see the Academy young guns pick up 58.5 of the total award (42.39%). If we include Roos that increases to 62.5 awards (45.29%).
There may be some mileage in breaking it down further into awards by position etc but I've had my fill of digits for a while so I'll pass it over to one of you lovely souls. I'd be interested in reading further breakdowns if anybody does use the figures to pass an hour or fifty.
The most high profile and/or oft-rated of those who didn't manage to make it onto either list is, of course, Kamil JOZWIAK, which rather sums up his time at Derby. I rather suspect that 'a resigned shrug of ones shoulders' was known in Old English as 'a jozwiak'.
Top 10 Individual Performances (in reverse order for added tittilation)
10. Ravel MORRISON 8.58 H Barnsley
9. Eiran CASHIN 8.60 H Peterborough
7=. Curtis DAVIES 8.63 A Reading
7=. Tom LAWRENCE 8.63 H Bournemouth
6. Liam THOMPSON 8.69 A Stoke

3. Festy EBOSELE 8.85 H Hull
2. Kelle ROOS 9.07 A West Brom
1. Tom LAWRENCE 9.50 H Sheffield Utd
Every Players' Individual Rating for the Season
I'll use a minimum of 150 ratings provided for a player for them to be included on the main list. Before we get to the main list, these are the ratings for the players who were rated on fewer than 150 occasions (figures given as number of times rated/average rating)
Dylan WILLIAMS 56 6.96

Sam BALDOCK 266 5.77
I was going to pick a few nuggets out of there but I'll read your thoughts, if indeed you have any, on our collective End of Season Stats Review. I'm tired and emotional though and it'll all end in tears.
Once again, thanks for staying awake if you've made it this far and here's to a club making its way back, starting with a takeover announcement tomorrow hopefully.

One thing that twitter kindly does is to provide you with 'promoted' tweets to help fill your feed. This is incredibly useful as it allows you to easily identify companies that you have absolutely no interest in - and to block every single one of them!!
