Cardiff City midfielder Ebou Adams has been the subject of an offer from Championship rivals Derby County, says Bluebirds boss Erol Bulut.

Adams, 28, did not feature in the Bluebirds' 1-0 friendly defeat against Kidderminster Harriers on Wednesday and Bulut admitted his omission was related to the potential transfer.

The Gambia international made 17 loan appearances at Derby last season, helping the club achieve automatic promotion to the Championship from League One.

"As far as I know we got an offer from Derby County but nothing is finalised, so until that moment, Ebou Adams is still a Cardiff City player," said Bulut.

"We didn't want to risk him [against Kidderminster] because we are close [to a deal] but in football you never know. Things may not get done and today we didn't use him but tomorrow is another day, we never know".

    Yeahhhhhhhh

Agree with this which is why I think he'll primarily be a midfielder as I believe he's said previously that he doesn't enjoy playing full back/wingback. In which case we certainly need to bring in a new left wingback.

Yeah that’s how I’m reading it.

    Cultured midfielder:

    first choice - kenzo, backup - ?

    Ball carrier:

first choice - Osborn, backup - Thompson

    Ball winner:

first choice - Ebou, backup ?

    Attacking mid - bobbly Clarke?

100% agree. I initially thought he would be playing centrally but now I feel he may playing as a left wing back. Hopefully he gets chance to nail one position and doesn't get shunted about all the time.

I don’t think he’d have come without absolute clarity from the manager about what he sees his main position and role as.

  4. I’m part of the ‘it’s a new era, no more reckless spending’ brigade however Taylor from Luton is the type of player that if available (has proven himself at league 1 and looked dangerous) I’d be willing to push the boat out for (within reason, ie <£3m aka the two sell on clause payments) because I think he’s the sort of young raw player who someone would pay us £10m for if he has a decent season. Though I can understand if we’re not quite there yet with being able to spend millions (plural) on a single player.

That would be very similar to my starting 11. Toss up between Wilson and Ward. A ball winner in midfield and a number one keeper are the obvious holes in our sqaud.

I think I’ll be most interested to see where Osbourne has been bought in to play. Think that dictates our ‘shopping list’

  6. Goalkeeper: any of the 4 linked would be a step up from last season.

    LWB: Longman

    CB: ?

    CM1: Ebou

    CM2: Bobby Clarke

    Attacker: Dembele

    Striker: Joe Taylor (Luton)

    giving us a squad of:

GK: New quality, Vickers, Young lad

    RWB: Ward, Wilson

    RB: Nyambe

CB (in a 3) : Nyambe, Nelson, Cashin, Bradley, Rooney, Forsyth, ?

    LWB: Longman, Elder

CM: Osbourne, Kenzo, Ebou, Clarke, Thompson, Fornah, Robinson

Secondary attackers: NML, Jackson, CBT, Dembele, Barkhuizen

Strikers: Yates, Taylor, Collins, Washington, Brown

  7.                     Vickers

          Nyambe Nelson Cashin

    Ward  Kenzo Thompson Osbourne

              Jackson Yates NML

probably need 2 more CMs, either a first team LWB (freeing up Osbourne to be another option at CM) or another CM, another striker and another secondary attacker as well as a goalkeeper or 2?

Potentially another CB if the right player becomes available.

  8. STOP arguing about how good Bradley is and how underwhelmed you are with our business on this thread.

    This the the RUMOURS thread.

If you have a rumour no matter how tenuous share it so we can get excited about things that might never materialise.

Sick of logging on, seeing another 2 pages added to this for it to be bickering about Bradley instead of some transfer gossip.

FWIW, I’ve heard today that the fee was less than the £800k reported - he signed for Preston because we were unwilling to pay it. He’d have come here otherwise.

I think we will regret this one, and I’m yet to see this competitive budget…

Competitive budget includes wages too remember.

My opinion on this is that if the difference between us signing him and not signing him is about £100k and Warne was adamant that he’d be a difference maker then I can’t see Clowes not sanctioning it. He’s 100% behind Warne and £100k is peanuts in football.

The fact we’re allowing another side to outbid us means our recruitment team and manager must think there’s better value out there without reducing impact on the first team.

So he's coming here. We're the team that's bid.

Then he's having a medical at QPR. All done he's going there.

    Then he's going to Preston.

Almost like they don't know what's going on.

Also if you have a choice of Derby, QPR and Preston then you aren't choosing Preston.

Unfortunately Preston have a recent record of strong mid table finishes vs us being in league 1 and QPR propping up the division. They probably also have a chunk of wages to spend considering Browne didn’t re-sign and they were willing to make him their highest paid player.

Some footballer in the conference will care more about the team he’s moving to being a solid spring board to a higher level and also money.

A player I’d love us to look at is Chris Willock (26). He’s able play on both wings aswell as the number 10. Didn’t have his best season last year with only 4 goals and 4 assists but QPR were pretty awful as a whole for the majority of the season. He’s coming into his prime years and in the two seasons before last he got 13 goals and 13 assists in 67 league games. Hes a great dribbler and also has good numbers for winning the ball high up the pitch. He’s still in talks with QPR over a new contract but hasn’t even travelled with them to their pre season tour where they’ve brought trailists etc.

weren’t QPR actually quite exciting last season once they’d got their new progressive gaffer in?

Disappointed no one has responded to my previous entry. Do we need a work permit or other permission for this player to play for us.? Could this be a reason for any delay, if indeed we are trying to sign him.

Think they’ve relaxed rules on footballers in the top 2 divisions. Obviously pre Brexit it wouldn’t be an issue at all but sure I read that rules have been changed to allow clubs to sign players easier

  13. The fact he’s been arrested for theft and not assault when night clubs have a billion CCTV cameras inside makes me believe that there might be some sensationalism added to the story of him snapping and taking her phone off him after catching them taking lots of photos and videos.

It’s not clever but he’s in a nightclub so perhaps not in control of all inhibitions.

My missus ordered mine Thursday afternoon and I'm still waiting for it. I live in hudderfield not hawaii ffs

Well if she’d ordered it Thursday morning you’d have had it by Saturday! What was she playing at waiting until the afternoon 👀

I had it down as 12 players + Collins and Sibley.

It looks like we're keeping Collins, we've signed three, so 10 more to go.

I reckon 10 if we assume he doesn’t fancy one of Fornah and Thompson at this level. 9 if he thinks they can both step up and supplement the incomings.

Are your 10 in similar positions to those I’ve suggested?

I went with blue for players I think Warne really wants at this level. Green for players I think will do a good job at this level. Yellow who I suspect we might need to upgrade on in time unless the younger ones develop quickly and red in those I see as more likely to feature out on loan or for the U21s

Yes, though slightly less so as it’s more historical. Hopefully we get the players Blackpool fans saw, rather than the one Swansea fans did!

I suspect he’s the same player but the systems played are different - it was only 5 goals difference between the two seasons mind.

Of course, and I’m certainly not saying that Yates is guaranteed to be a failure here. I’m just a bit concerned given his reputation at Swansea, and the fact he’ll likely be coming in to be our main striker.

I appreciate proven Championship strikers are out of our budget, but I’m a little disappointing we’ve not thought a blittle more out the box and looked at younger up and coming players from the lower leagues / abroad. Also big gambles like you say, but the sort of player who could come in and surprise everyone tearing the league up. It’s very unlikely Yates/Jackson will do that given their prior records at this level.

Do you value Blackpool fans opinions on him?
