With no right back available it looks like a 3 at the back so would go with.
Wildsmith
Nelson. Bradley. Cashin
Fornah.
Wilson Bird. Hourihane Forsyth
Sibley
Collins
Subs Vickers Elder Thompson Ward NML Barkhuizen TJJ
Or with Nelson at right back go with
Wildsmith
Nelson. Forsyth. Cashin. Elder
Ward. Bird. Fornah. NML
Barkhuizen. Collins
-
Wildsmith
Smith. Nelson. Cashin. Elder
Thompson. Fornah.
Ward. Waghorn NML
Collins
Vickers Forsyth Hourihane Wilson TJJ Barkhuizen Sibley
This is the team I would go with but it is unlikely to happen.

I'd have Ward on the right wing, he is the best crosser in the club.

so far we’ve racked up £70,000 from this competition.
Over £300,000 plus add ons if we win this……………..every little helps. 👍🐏
You need to factor in how much it costs the club to put an evening game on.
It would be interesting to know if we are making any profit from this EFL trophy.

He will go stronger than this
He wants to win this and we have no game for 10 days afterwards.
I don't expect anyone outside Tuesdays squad to start.
They play Orient 4 days later so would travel down on the Friday.

Vickers
Smith. Roberts. Bradley. Cox
Fapetu Robinson
Ward. Waghorn. Sibley
John-Jules
Give JJ 45 mins then replace with Weston.
-
Wildsmith
Nyambe. Nelson. Cashin. Forsyth
Ward. Bird. Fornah. Barkhuizen
Sibley
Waghorn
Play Sibley in his best position and reap the rewards.
Bring on NML in the second half when their players are getting tired.
Rest some older ones, two games in three days. 3 points in the bag.

After the applause on the 38th minute the crowd could sing.
You are my B4, my only B4,
You make me happy when skies are grey,
I never noticed how much I missed you,
Until you take my B4 away.
And then if we are not losing sing, Pompey we are coming for you.

I always enjoyed reading B4's posts and like many have said had such a passion for our great club and what a great guy he was, he will now be sitting at the top table alongside the other great DCFC supporting fans/legends that have gone and will be helping the club from the other side.
Thinking of his family at this sad time.

Can’t remember who posted it but the most telling statistic from Saturday was that we had 23 crosses and won 8.5%, we won two crosses, I’ll just repeat that…..we won two crosses!
If we’re keeping to the same game plan…….might as well play Bradley at centre forward!
I think it would help having two forwards. 442

Wildsmith
Nyambe. Nelson. Cashin. Forsyth
Wilson. Smith. Fornah. Barkhuizen

Collins
subs. Vickers, Bradley, Bird, Conner.H, Waghorn, Washington, NML
Give NML and Waghorn a rest and play Sibs in his best position, not sure if Bird is ready to start yet.

Smith can play right back if it's four at the back with Elder left back or Wilson can play as right wing back if playing five at the back but we do not have a left wing back so that would be a position to look to bring someone in, I'm surprised we did not do this as PW likes to play a five .
-
I see Ward as a right winger.

Dylan Williams lwb for Chelsea, the one Rooney let go to them the other season.
Don't know if he played tonight?

Wildsmith
Rooney Nelson Cashin Fozzie
NML Smith Hourihane Thompson
Washington Waghorn

The way I see it is PW wants to play 5 at the back and has used pre season to put it into practice but does not have a left wing back and the three centre backs are not gelling as hoped so until he gets a proper lwb it will not work.
Therefore for now needs to play four at the back, a 442 with either Wilson or Rooney at right back the other right wing with Ward injured with Elder left back and NML on the wing. Cashin with either Nelson or Fozzy at centre back. Could do with a couple of Craig Brysons of old in midfield and Washington alongside either Collins or Waghorn up front. Centre of midfield is a concern, not mobile enough over a long period and we need two out and out strikers to give us a better chance of scoring with all the crosses coming in. I wish it was that simple to sort out. Good luck to the coaching staff to get it right for Saturday.

Hope the finance director has been advising all sides along the way.

i have said several times, younger players with an upward growth path - not high wage older players with a downwards trajectory
i am not saying we should spend more money i am saying we should spend what we are currently spending wiser and build a squad that will take us forward properly so we arent in this exact same situation every summer
every year we do what we have done this summer and last summer we will have to rebuild the entire squad, its a fact we are not building anything we are just putting a team together until they run out of legs
I am sure that is what PW wants as well but in the current market must be finding it difficult to find strikers of that age that would be good enough within our budget. The under 18s and u21s are been strengthened so that should give you some hope for the future. PW will be judged on results, lets see where we finish before coming to conclusions.

sorry if i often get on peoples nerves i do love a rant i must admit, i am just frustrated in the direction the club is going. I hope it is genuinely to do with constraints in the market and not the overall vision because in my opinion we are going down the wrong path
I don't know what path you want to go down but the right path is to not spend more than we are getting in and have to go through what we all have endured these last three years.

Don't see Ward as a right back, he looks more comfortable playing wide right putting in those great crosses.
