With over 2,500 tickets available there’s a fair chance it will make it to season ticket holders or even general sale.

Why is it constantly said Warne prefers athleticism over skill?
Across his almost two years in charge, he has relied heavily upon technical and skilled players. Every season with us, there have been technical players at the core of his teams, without whom the team wouldn’t have functioned or prospered.
A similar theme is emerging even now. Goudmijn was one of his marquee signings this summer and starts almost every game, for example.
To my mind, Warne wants to strike a balance so his teams can be competitive, resilient and adaptable in most, if not all in-game situations.
Does he want a team of eleven Ozohs? No. Does he want a team of eleven Goudmijns? Also, no. In both cases, not much success would be found.
Does he want a balanced and competitive team that can win football matches in a variety of ways and rise to the challenge of Championship football? Absolutely.

McGoldrick had his best scoring season ever under Warne despite only having one goal until the 29th October.
Wildsmith played 97 of his 191 career games at Derby, conceding only 88 goals with 42 clean sheets - won the best goalkeeper award. Moved on to big money sitting on West Brom's bench.
Nyambe flourished after being without a club until end of September after being released by relegated Wigan.
Nelson became a crucial role and player of the season, being the only outfield player in the league to play every minute, after being released by two clubs in the previous season.
Mendez Laing has become a full international and captain under Warne after a few years of upheaval between clubs.
Ebou Adams became a stalwart and loved by all after barely playing at Cardiff for 18 months.
Likewise with Kane Wilson, going from playing only a few times at Bristol to being a fans favourite at Derby.
Sure there's been a few duds like Washington and Fornah, but overall, the strike rate is pretty high for signings.
I'd suggest that Warne has been highly successful in progressing careers of many players at the club, both old and young.

It's all subjective, and the best anyone could say about the last 3 matches is they have been incredibly frustrating.  My memory might be playing tricks on me, but the John Newman team of the 80s played  dire stuff week in week out, and the 83-84 relegation, initially with Taylor and then McFarland, was truly awful, despite the run to the Cup Q-finals.   Maybe its an age thing but that season was so demoralizing as a fresh faced 17 year old, as I really believed Taylor would lead us back to Division 1.   Turned out John Robertson was past it, and so was Taylor sadly.   Took Cox two seasons to sort it out, and this is where I get a bit annoyed with PW.   We did play football in 85-86, as did Ipswich last season, not just relying on athleticism.   However despite the crowds, we don't have the financial pull we had in the Cox era. Gregory, Micklewhite, Christie all dropped divisions to come to Derby, and we paid fees for gems like Geriant Williams and Mel Sage.   The madness of Mel (Morris not Sage!) and the punitive actions of the EFL have left us shopping at Age Concern, and as a support we don't like it as our self image is we are better than this.   So do I think we have the league One Guardiola - definitely not, do I think Warne can get us promoted - maybe.   What can we do about it?   Try and stay behind the team when Cheltenham or similar have spells of giving us the run around and don't think we've won the league when we have nights like Oxford (A).   In the end we scrapped over the line in 85-86 with a dodgy penalty v Rotherham. It might be the same this season, it might not - we are too inconsistent for me to make any predictions.   But don't let the frustrations get to you as being a Derby fan, if you haven't realised already, drives you mad if you let it. 🙂

to be fair, my confidence shot up as well when Bradley went off.   Playing alongside Sonny must be like holding a grenade with the pin out.   You know something is going to go off, you just don't know when.

Not been back long. Massive traffic problems going to Bolton, marginally better coming home.
The first half was not good to watch,  better for us second half.
Some people on here thought Bolton were pretty good. I would rather say they were effective, to a degree. They seemed to have embraced the notion that the best way to get out of this league is to play like a herd of neanderthals. It also helps to get a majority of key decisions go your way, whether they should or not, although from a Rams perspective that us pretty much a “written in stone” EFL rule. So there was the hauling down of NML as he was about to go into the area, with the ref staring at it and giving nothing. It should have bern a yellow card. Or Sibley's run out of defence towards the centre circle when he was blatantly pulled back 5 or 6 times, in full view once more, until he lost balance and had the ball taken off him, setting up a dangerous Bolton attack, and nothing given. Plus the two penalties. The ref was better than some we gave endured, but that isn’t much of a compliment, is it?
It seems Warne adjusted our tactics to something akin to Bolton-ball, as there was considerably more high ball stuff than normal and held our own quite well. We dealt with their physical approach and dished a bit back as well. Good on you, Derby. We would have bern overcome by it under Rosenior, and probably have lost the match last season. Instead we more than matched them for threatening football.
Fozzy was awesome, and it was good to see Max putting it about as well. And it was an ideal type pf game for Jason Knight. As ever Hourihane disappointed, managing one good cross and a couple of blocks all game, and should have been subbed. 83 minutes was way too late to bring Soula on, and he should have replaced Collins who was poor today. Warme does seem to like him, probably for his rumbustious style. But bringing Dobbin changed the game noticeably, putting us in the driving seat. Even Bolton’s endless supply of substitutions didn’t being the game back to them.
I am well happy with today’s point, we are in the top 6, and ahead of the mid-table security many of us thought was do-able, all achieved with a load of bits-and-bobs and unwanteds. Pretty dam good, really!
    Right, Cambridge. You’re next!

Sounds to me like their Union are doing a pretty good job standing up for their members, which is exactly what a Union should do - you know, sticking together for what you believe in through thick and thin...kind of thing I'd would have thought a football fan would grasp.

Actually its not the drivers who are striking - it is all the other rail workers, wo most certainly aren't on £50k! And although they haven't had a pay rise in 3 years, it is changes to their terms and conditions, which work out to a massive pay cut, that the strike action is about. Although if you want to get political, the strike has been foced by the government to bring in yet another whole raft of anti-trade union legislation. It is already easier to win a General election with a minority of the votes than it is to call industrial action.
