    "Excessive force"?
It's a bit more than that. South Africa are doing a wonderful job right now of using Israeli government quotes compiled together to show exactly the mindset of IDF since day 1. It won't count for much I don't think but at the very least it will expose Israel to the public so there can be no more spreading of propaganda used by this Apartheid State. This isn't excessive force. This is ethnic cleansing.

I wouldn't say the people of Gaza are being used by Hamas. This is another lie spread by Israel/America/Britain to give the impression Palestinians are being held hostage/human shields and so therefore the destruction of Hamas can only be a good thing.
Like Biden said in 86. If Israel didn't exist then America would have to create one. If Hamas didn't exist then Israel would have to create another. Or one way or another a Hamas would form. Even if Israel succeed in their pretend mission then Hamas will be born again.
Israel need Hamas. Again, this isn't a claim. This is something said by Netenyahu and Co both verbally and by action. It keeps him in power, it keeps them able to raid and build settlements.
Support for Hamas was slipping. But there was still strong support for them. Because what happens without them? All Palestinians live in a liberal, democratic free state of Israel?
The idea that Hamas brought Israel down upon Palestinians is what Israel would have us believe. Israel brought Israel down upon Palestinians. And they do it where Hamas has little to no power.
Hamas might have support from the likes of Iran etc. but Palestinians do the fighting. And today there will be dozens more who will be willing to join groups like Hamas. Or an even more extreme group should Hamas actually be destroyed.

OK, so “excessive force” is a serious understatement but there’s no need to round on me. I think you know what I meant. If not, I’ll make it clearer. I don’t approve of what Israel are trying to do or the way they are going about it. I find it abhorrent.
It’s a horrible situation that those of us in the west can’t really begin to appreciate. The equally distressing thing is, it’s almost impossible to imagine a solution that will be acceptable to both sides. 😢

Yep , won’t argue with you , you see what you see and I see what I see ,,,
as has been said before , we probably have a large overlap in the middle where we see things similar,
I certainly am not telling you to stop posting and hope you extend the same to me to passionately disagree with stuff I disagree with , if I don’t respond then it’s just an echo chamber and assumed everyone is on board with net zero, crisis ect and we see that old phrase that’s rolled out that such and such is a given … it’s not🤷‍♂️

So your plan is 'refute and give another viewpoint' to established scientific opinion in order to protect the younger generation from the mental anguish caused by the reality of climate change.
Eventually this extremely fragile younger generation of yours will have to be informed of how things really are, as it's going to be left to them to deal with the consequences.
I think you underestimate those younger than us. They are actually far better informed than we were and seem far more determined to actually do something about it.  If only older generations would get out of the way...and stop clinging to a system of energy generation that belongs in 19th century, they might actually have a chance.

America have jokes though. "Palestinians will not be removed from the Gaza strip" - Blinken
What? There will be nothing there? That's why we allow Israel to continue, no? At the point there's not a chance Palestinians can hope to live the joyous free life they had in Gaza before you will order Israel to stop. Collect humanity points and then say Palestinians are free to go to Areas A, B and C but D, E and F are uninhabitable. Within a decade Areas D, E and F will have Jewish settlers on.
    It's so obvious.
As it was obvious when America said to Israel that they need to be more controlled with their war. 2 days later 200 Palestinians were killed in one morning. Oh, and this was just as they sold Israel more unguided missiles. "Dumb bombs"
Terrorists eh? They hate our way of life and seek to destroy it. Kill civilians. Attack our freedoms. It's a good job we aren't like them.

No, I don't think anyone could.  And, in fact, could we blame anyone in Gaza at this stage?  This was the obvious point from Day 1 of this bombardment.  The support for Hamas is only set to grow because of this relentless murderous assault.  This is going to have a lasting generational effect, the hatred will last for decades and beyond.
There are members of the Netanyahu government now opening speaking of getting the Palestinians to migrate to other countries 'voluntarily', as a solution to the conflict. So ethnic cleansing then....I guess if that does become the stated Israeli policy, Biden will still have their back.

Could we blame Wael El Dahdouh if he replaced his heart ache with hatred? If he saw everybody who supported this war as an enemy supporting terrorism on his family?
How would people feel if he wore a green headband and targeted civilians in the same way his family were targeted. His family was killed in a refugee camp and his son in a targeted drone strike on a car. Would they label him terrorist? I doubt they'd say it's self defence. Palestinians don't get to call violence and murder "defence". One of many rights they don't have. It doesn't matter what's taken from them. They are expected to accept their fate.
But what's Wael El Dahdouh doing? He's back reporting. Again. Imagine Netenyahu and his murderous mob showing that kind of resilience and restraint.
80+ journalists and approx 23,000 with double that casualties. Total destruction to civilian infrastructure. Imagine if they had a hammer and sickle on their flag.

Agreed, but it's the fact that this war HAS received so much attention. Easy for Westerners to forget a war in Yemen when it's seldom on their feeds, but this is being watched in real-time.
Also, not a point worth labouring as all wars are grim affairs, but there are already 2 million displaced in Gaza and that after only 90 days of fighting, which far from abating, seems only to be increasingly visceral and disturbing.

It's very sad, but we are even better at looking away in other conflicts...Yemen (although gaining popularity now), Sudan (7 million displaced since April)

Conor Coventrys defensive stats per90 from last season compared to other championship defensive midfielders. Obviously when it’s green it’s good, I’ve seen him play and captain Ireland u21s and has always stood out. He would be a great addition to our midfield.

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t this Putin’s war?
You can question whether Zelenski is sacrificing Ukrainian lives to defend his government’s beliefs. It’s valid.
But there is a big difference between being backed into a corner and making that decision and just outright instigating a war.

What I find harrowing is thinking how precious life is. We only get one.
And then you have this nutjob just sending people to their deaths for his own personal gain. People are needlessly dying for one man’s self ambition.
These people dying have wives, kids, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, close friends. Thousands dying, millions affected.
While Putin just sits there in an comfy, warm office playing online chess or Risk without a care in the world.

Apologies if this has already been posted, but I watched this a couple of weeks back and whilst it's a harrowing watch, it's also a quite incredible piece of documentary filmmaking.
The story focusses on team of Ukrainian journos stuck in a besieged Mariupol try to continue getting their reports and videos out of the city to the outside world, moving from building to building to evade the oncoming Russian forces as they do so. Not an easy watch, something I seem to say a lot these days, but it feels like a very important film and it certainly left its mark on me.

This above image imo is genocidal talk. And there's plenty more where these come from. These aren't even the worst. Smotrich has plenty of gems and Netenyahu referenced Amalek which is bizarre
All far more prejudice than anything I imagine Lineker saying. But I can't be sure because I don't pay any attention to him to be honest.
As for genocide, I read this earlier https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/10/opinion/israel-gaza-genocide-war.html
Interesting it mentions the Rome Statute which Israel didn't sign off on. Along with America, Russia and Sudan.
Now that article concludes that technically, no, this isn't genocide.
If the greatest offence in all this to anybody is that it's wrongly being called a genocide when it's more just crimes against humanity, maybe a touch of ethnic cleansing, then I think they need to fix their moral compass.
Also, I saw a comparison between the civilian death rate of this war and other horrific wars. 1% of Gaza population is dead. It isn't a comparison Israel would want to be seen but I've not actually got the data and I'm at work so not got time to search it out
