  1. I think first of all you need to find where they are coming from. Do you live by a brook or river? If not then you may need to look at your drains for defects. Chambers with uncapped inlets are easy to spot also you may spot evidence in the chambers like droppings. If you suspect the drains I don’t think the council are much help, you may have to find a local pest control company.
One way is to cut off their route into the property either sealing up holes etc. It could be trial and error but some pest control contractor might be best placed to advise.

Other methods are buy an air gun probably depending on the size of your garden and where your neighbours are positioned or use poison but again it might be better leaving that to an expert.

It's a play on words. We are now out of restrictions but in comparison with our competition we are more restricted.

Even if DC went full Lionel Pickering we still wouldn't be a top 6 budget and stay within FFP.

It's a comment on 3 things. A) the unfairness of the parachute system B) we need to realistic this season and C) we need to recruitment spot on.

Not sure that any of that is controversial.

If it was, it would be in a different thread.

Did Ipswich have a top 6 budget?
Could we sell to buy would we be better or worse off?

Have we got anything decent coming through the ranks apart from the 1/2 season wonder at non league Gateshead?

For me a captain is someone that other players look up to, someone that in adversity can drive others on either by their brilliance of play or their never beaten positive attitude. Roy Keane, Tony Adams, John Terry and the one and only Dave Mackay all spring to mind as excellent leaders of their teams, love em or hate em they were all winners with plenty of trophies to show.

I can’t see it being any of them tbh. One of them is dead to start with and the others are too old.

I would go for the Chris Martin sending iff against Burnley which cost us automatic promotion, and effectively triggered our demise.

But running it a very, very close second was Middlesbrough away in the relegation season during the war with the efl.

Crook elbowed Beilik in the face which didn’t even warrant a free kick when it should have been a red card, as was his scything down Max Bird. He got away with 2 yellow card offences as well, so was still on the pitch in time added on at the end of the first half to score from an offside position.

In terms of justice it tops the lot by miles, but the Burnley injustice cost us more.

Don’t forget he disallowed Hendricks goal at the same time when he alleged Martin dived.

Disallowed a perfectly good goal and sent Chris Martin off when he got fouled. I wont say he should have given a penalty because Hendricks goal should have stood.

Andy Madeley I think was the ref. I would say the worst decision I have seen.

Congratulations to Forest. The worst ever team to stay up.

I think we all said at the start of the season that none of the promoted clubs look capable of reaching 30 points.

You fear with Leicester’s potential points deduction, Ipswich just lacking any real quality and either West Brom or Norwich going up, next season could be similar.

You kind of hate to say it, you’d need Leeds to go up and spend.

The PL is in danger of not just having a permanent top 6-7, but also having a situation where promoted clubs can’t make a fist of it.

    I don’t think they can

  6. If I had the wings of a sparrow….

My Old Man said be a Derby fan…

He’ fat he’s round he’s never at the ground…..

For all we are saying if fcuk off Maxwell.

This one always made me chuckle on the popside when the Ilkeston lads came in and said

    I L S O N we are the boys from Ilkeston.
This was responded to by the lads from Derby with Forest rejects Forest rejects.

I think the Red Robin one is my favourite.

The city centre is nice but I use to work not far from their ground and that area of the city is rough

I called in at a Tesco Express on the way to their ground a few years ago to get a couple of beers. There was someone at the self checkout with the biggest pile of shopping and his card wouldn’t work. Somehow he thought they should let him take his shopping home and he’d come back and settle up later. When they wouldn’t let him do it he proper kicked off at the store assistants. The security had to remove him. I just thought lovely place around here.

To be honest, League One should be a breeze for them as I don’t think they have gone down in turmoil like we perhaps did.

They got relegated because of Rooney. The other 3 managers who were there would have had then mid table over a 46 game season.

Their budget is bigger than ours this season. Their squad is better.

If it wasn’t for a 21 point deduction we wouldn’t have gone down either.

This is a very funny thread, although brings back some bad memories of my own.

I took my kids to Butlins Minehead just after I broke up with the first Mrs I-Ram, so 20 years ago. I paid for a ‘Silver’ chalet, as Gold was too expensive. Jesus what a s******* it was. Mouldy shower, terrible dirty paintwork and carpet, and mattresses that when uncovered looked like they might have at some stage been used in an autopsy. It did make me wonder what you got for Bronze, presumably something akin to Alexei Navalny‘s final cell. I did get a discount after much discussion, and me sharing photos with them as to what I was going to send to the press, but we left on day 4 of 7 anyway. After 4 days of a nauseating and annoying young Stephen Mulhern, my ex-wife didn’t seem quite as bad after all.

There’s no pleasing some folk. If you said to me I’m going to Butlins I’d have described everything you have said even though I’ve never been. The missuses kids go every year to the one at Skegness and think it’s great. They even try to outdo each other with the packages they have by trying to save up for the silver package. Last year they only lost one kid for half a day. A great holiday they said.

Now we're back in the "big time", will we be getting a dedicated reporter again for The Athletic paper?

I seem to recall we only "lost" our reporter as we were relegated and league one teams weren't deemed worthy enough. We had the excellent Ryan Conway then the replacement younger lad whose name escapes me.

I subscribed on their website when we had one but cancelled when they weren't bothered about us. Always top class articles without the death trap of adverts that litter the DET website.

It would be brilliant to get Ryan Conway back again as he seemed to really get involved fully with the club. He has an excellent book out on us, Pride Before The Fall, if anyone hasn't read it.

The missus bought me the book for Christmas but I hadn’t picked it up until we have gone on holiday. I’m halfway through and it’s quite a good insight into Frank Lampard and Philip Cocu’s management styles. Sounds like neither liked to dish out a bollocking which it sounded like would have made players more accountable.

Final post Stevenage update - outstanding figures for the Rams

In that 32 league game period, we scored 57, conceded 22

    Won 22, Drawn 5, Lost 5

Shame we had a bad start or we’d have had it sown up by Easter. Maybe the refs calmed down on their dodgy decisions around that time as well.
