Lunchtime kick offs are hugely inconvenient.
Firstly, it’s a pain with regards to getting food and, secondly, I Runa Saturday morning kids team, and an away match in Buxton will cause logistical headaches.

Jedward in goal?

It just shows the abject greed from the “top” clubs.
It’s never been about too many games, it’s all about creaming the biggest slice of cash for themselves.
Reduce a cup replay against Fleetwood for a couple of exhibition games on the other side of the world, because it brings in an extra couple of weeks wages for a striker.

Always rated Mowatt, but I would think he’s earning wages that other clubs can afford more than us.

Doesn’t Iversen have another year at Leicester?
And signing for them a few years back means he’s earning a good old salary…

International football shirts from countries that I have visited. I’m on 60-odd at the minute…

I remember seeing Banovic’s save on Central TV or whatever it was called at the time. It was like a triple save where there was a scramble and every time a shot came in, he somehow managed to get a block in.
I do remember thinking it was impressive at the time. However, I was quite young and impressionable at the time and liked to play in goals and pull off one-handed saves because a bigger kid said it was “like Yakka Banovic”!

Marco Gabbiadini was massively overrated, and should have been offloaded with all the other £1m+ Cox signings.

Adam Lallana , just released by Brighton . Would take the P in the Championship . IF ,we can get Hourihane off the books .
🤔 Hourihane is out of contract, so should be much easier than tempting Lallana to Derby…

I like the importance of a clear headway between 3rd and 4th. (Although 14pts seems a bit excessive? 9pts or more would indicate an adequate superiority to me).
And if that fails, I like that the lower placed team needs to beat the higher placed team (A draw is good enough for the higher team). I'd stick with that, but scrap all extra time as well as the pens. It's got potential. 👍
Sounds similar to the National League playoffs… just without the guarantee.

I would love to see us bring in Marek Rodák from Fulham. Played under Warne on loan from Fulham in 17/18 and 18/19.
Looked outstanding when he played at Pride Park last time…

Well, I am baffled by the Falcons.
Sign Cousins to a 4 year $180 million deal and then draft Penix at 8!
I like Penix, but they should have traded down a little with the Vikings first…

I’m of the view that if we do have clear and obvious errors, they should be exactly that.
If the VAR can’t pick up on it at real time within watching a replay on a monitor in the time it takes to be ready for the resultant kick off, then it’s not clear and obvious and the decision stands.
Or just scrap the whole thing… (unfortunately there is too much money at stake, which ruins everything.)

If the shirts are scheduled to be available in June, one would imagine the sponsor has already been confirmed.

Anybody under the age of 27/28 has never witnessed an automatic promotion for Derby County.
Quite a sobering thought, really.

I imagine it’s necessary to advise that it is criminal offence, as the FA will also be within their rights to punish us for a pitch invasion.

This is another example of why my love for the game becomes a little more tarnished.
I’m proud of the fact that I have become an old-fashioned bitter football fan and I have no idea of what is happening in the first division, nor do I have any idea on who is still in Europe. I don’t even know what the format of the European competitions are nowadays, and I really don’t care. It’s all predicated on greed for the biggest clubs and every rule appears to be geared towards maintaining an “elite”.
I looked at the England squad not so long ago, and it had a number of players who I had never heard of.
I love Derby County and not much more, to be honest.
I love the fact that in the lower divisions, there are probably 16 or so teams at the start of the season who think that, if things go well, this could be their year. However, that gap is becoming wider and wider each year due to the top echelons being governed by greed.
The fact that so many teams are going so close to the wire and getting points deductions is down to fear of slipping off the gravy train therefore eye watering amounts of money creates eye watering amounts of greed.
For me, a top level footballer should earn a maximum of what a CEO or a doctor would earn. Why should they be earning that sort of money a week? And why shouldn’t they get another job after they have retired?
Anyway, the FA Cup used to be a flagship event that everyone used to watch. Everyone who is around my age will have seen Coventry Vs Tottenham and can probably list a good number of players from each side that day - they were very special occasions. Now, the competition is dying a death of a thousand cuts, where it’s now just an irritant to the big teams, who will inevitably win it. I don’t even know who is the current holder, but I think it is monopolised by of a tiny handful of teams.
Anyway, apologies for my rant.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the Football Genius, but I'd say Ebou is, technique wise, a better player
Understood - all I am saying is that the higher level you play at, the harder it is to look like quality. I’m just saying if Ebou was playing against the quality that DPFG was playing against, his technique would not appear as good.
I’d wager the worst Derby player you have seen would be virtually impossible to dispossess by us mere mortals…

Having scoured the European Leagues on transfermarkt for players on expiring contracts, I would look to see if Erik Exposito at Slask Wrocław was a possibility. He’s probably played himself into a higher level than we can afford now, but is a striker who is out of contract and is tall, mobile and scores goals… (disclaimer: opinion based purely on stats and highlights reels)

I’d say he had less. Ebou is good on the ball and can play an accurate pass more than 15 yards. Darryl was never one for spraying balls about
I think you’re doing Darryl Powell a disservice. In his one season as a division 2 player for us he was dominating the midfield with van der Laan. You’re comparing division 3 Ebou to division 1 Darryl.
In division 3, Powell would have been a huge standout.

That was only for new contracts handed out. Sibley’s contract was a legacy from the previous regime.
