A few people on here use the ‘let Warne get us out of the division’ argument.
I remember a similar argument with regards to Billy getting us out of the Championship.
He did the job but, because he’d drummed a negative anti-football mindset into the players, we were then  ill equipped for what laid in what and, despite a few transfers, produced a team that is now the butt of everyone’s jokes.
Are we so happy that the mindless tactics and negative thinking, I.e., setting up to nullify the mighty Shrewsbury at home, may cause irreparable damage that our players may not easily recover from, even if we bought in some new faces.
Short-term, ‘just get us up Warnie’ thinking may only kick-the-can down the road to next season where we’re languishing at the bottom of the championship.
Ipswich from last year should be our model, try and get some sort of footballing philosophy going that you can build on if/when you move upwards; although I do accept they had a transfer kitty last season, and that, of course, helps.
But, back to my point, negative short-termist win-at-all-costs football may set us up for more pain in the long run and anyone who thinks we can use Warne to get us promoted, sack him and bring someone else in, must realise that the damage is already being done.
He seems like a nice guy and I’ve got nothing against him personally, the irony is that ‘failed’ football managers get such juicy payoffs that they don’t have to worry so much about the things us ‘ordinary folk’ do; so they don’t really lose in the end.
I’m going tomorrow night and I just wouldn’t mind seeing a bit of good football from the Rams, it’s not loads to ask for is it 🤷‍♂️

Well you support my point. You say we are all shouting for Liam, and you give one example from what, 2 weeks ago. And S8TY wasnt asking for him back. He just said in hindsight he should have been given more time. Not sure why you are looking for an apology either. You seem to be coming over as a bit of a t*****.

He was straight into the team for the home game against Cheltenham, played 64 minutes.
I can't blame you form forgetting he was on the pitch though, his teammates didn't seem to realise either.
He didn't get involved, hovered around the halfway line for most of the match waiting for balls that never came his way. On the rare occasion he did see the ball he looked OK, but didn't / couldn't use his pace (perhaps due to the injury) and there was one noticeably poor pice of control where he kicked the ball too far ahead of him, although it's possible that's something he'd normally make up for with his pace.

We're 2nd, 6 points off top with a game in hand on Portsmouth, who have shown they're liable to drop points. Everyone from Barnsley down would happily swap places with Derby.

Importantly, Peterborough are in danger of dropping out of contention if they don't beat Vale tomorrow, which would leave a top 4 pack. BUT they still have Portsmouth and Bolton at home, Bolton being on the last day of the season, so they could do a job for us. There are so many big games between Derby, Portsmouth, Bolton, Barnsley, and Peterborough, plus Stevenage & Oxford, a lot could change between now and 27th April.

All-in-all, the last 15 games look set to be very exciting, even if the football is pretty crap to watch. We just have to back the players. Warne is not going to be sacked before 27th April so you may as well enjoy the run-in as much as you can.

This happens to me sometimes when writing a post on my phone, it's not intentional. I'll go to correct a typo and instead of just changing the one word it changes a whole load of text to red.
No idea why this happens, especially when there isn't actually a function on the forum to use different text colours, but unless you copy/paste the text, clear the editor and start again you can't get rid of or alter it.

It's relevant when appraising the team and the manager. I sincerely do not believe we've gotten better since last season, I just think the competition is worse. As a result, I find that concerning because on that basis we haven't made progress. Which leads me then to question why that is.
The eye test shows we've been poor. We can all look at the league table and stick our fingers in our ears and pretend that everything is brilliant, but it isn't is it? The football we play is largely rancid, and only by the virtue of being less shocking then these other crap teams we come up against, we pick up points.
It's not about being especially good to get promoted against better teams, it's that I want long term success for this club. In the short term, we may well get promoted. I have a horrible feeling about what will happen if we do though. I don't think we're close to good enough to playing in the league above. I want long term, sustainable success for the club. And yes it has to start somewhere, but I actually don't think we're going in the right direction for that. It's a genuine concern.

Well yes, it's a self fulfilling prophecy.
If a team is coached with an emphasis on getting it wide rather than playing through the middle then they'll not learn to overcome teams to try to 'strangle' them, and struggle to do so when a team does that.
The excuse earlier in the season (Cheltenham) was that they'd outnumber us there, but now we're playing 3 in midfield with the addition of Adams that excuse goes away.
We've had the ability to play with 3 midfielders most of the season and chosen not to,  you can't simply expect everything to work out perfectly when changing to a 3 when it hasn't been practiced extensively and the team have been taught to almost fear playing that way.
And that's what I saw yesterday, the theory was good but the execution was poor because it looked unpractised.

Whenever Warne actually does something that addresses the concerns and complaints raised on here we seem to improve, and when he reverts to type things start to go wrong.
Producing a little guidebook for him to reference could be a masterstroke.

I'm just moaning, I'll pay it even if it doubled, annoying though as Amazon know it.
That wasn't even my renewal email, saw it online and was like no no no, come on. Like you we pay the monthly fee now as it includes all cameras you attach, prior to the kids arriving I think it was something like £2.50 a month.
I'm hoping our plan is not increasing and it's just the singular options, which you can see the thinking, bridge the price gap tempting people to go all out and kit the house out with their cameras which to be fair, are reasonably priced for the quality.
All comes out the joint account which is solely ran by the Mrs, starting to question why I started the topic and if I'm honest, it was probably just the opportunity to create a topic called Ring Sting was too good to pass on.

Not a "don't forget we nearly didn't have a club" thought but... the current manager and his predecessor have put together a squad with very little funding that has us in with a shout of going up via the autos. Very commendable when you think of the millions spaffed up the wall by previous managers on player fees and wages for players who were absolute dross. managers who then found themselves overnight millionaires thanks to the compo they got on being sacked.
Our starting shape played into Shrews' hands. Shape was changed after 35 minutes of an absolutely awful first half of football from both sides. 0-0 was the best either side could hope for at that juncture.

2nd half was better but we have to remember that it would have been difficult to be that bad again. When Bird put the ball away for the 1-0, it was deserved as we were the better side. They then got back into it without ever looking like worrying Wildsmith. Then came that equaliser. 88th minute throw in, in the corner, we fell asleep. Collo was beaten way too easily, Wilson was out of position and couldn't get back to worry their man in possession, pass to Pierre some 12 yards out where he was totally unmarked and his shot gave JW no chance. It was their first real shot on target, the previous one had been a gentle lob into JW's arms. They did have another shot after their goal which JW saved well. Then we created a chance up the other end but Nelson's downwards header bounced up onto the bar instead of into the net.

Shrews came with the game plan I expected and executed it well, restricting us to just 8 shots with 3 on target to their 7 and 3.

We need, IMO, to look at some of our pushing and pulling in the oppo's area. Their keeper made that double save from Barks but, had one of the 2 attempts gone in, the goal would have been disallowed for Collo having pushed a defender over. Why do we do things that give refs the choice? Don't commit fouls in the opponent's box... or our own for that matter.

Ref? less than average. Let too much go, IMO. I wouldn't have complained if his (lack of) decision making had been spread evenly but we seemed to be on the wrong end of 2/3 of his Law interpretations. First half saw one of his Assistants pull us up 8 or 9 times for offside. I'm not convinced they were all correct decisions. It is, however, something our attacking players need to be more aware of and, hopefully, cut out of our play. Especially Collo who seems to wander back slowly and then get caught offside when he challenges for the ball despite having been well offside when the ball was played.

It was a disappointing result but I agree with the hundred previous posters who have pointed out that we're tactically naive. We started defensively against a team who had scored 6 away goals. We should have got stuck in from the first second. Too often this season the first 45 minutes is simply wasted, and then we're chasing the game in the second half after an adjustment.
I read the Guardian's report on the Leverkusen-Bayern game, and an observation there stuck out to me: "But what distinguishes this Leverkusen team is how little they rely on moments of individual quality. They defend and attack as a unit..." We rely almost entirely on moments of individual quality! In recent games particularly, it has been flashes from Bird, NML, Hourihane, or Collins to pull a result out of the bag. With a coherent system, we have good enough players, and a deep enough squad, to demolish most teams.
I don't think any individual had a bad game yesterday - in fact, I thought Sibley, Bird, Nyambe, Adams, and Nelson played very well - but they're being asked to set up in seemingly random, incoherent, and ineffective ways, from game to game. Second half was a good performance, and I was impressed by how they kept going and nearly snatched a winner through Nelson & Barks, but it should have been all over by then. Shrewsbury were pretty crap, and we let them off.
Still, 15 games to go, all to play for, and enough rubbish sides in this league that I still think we can struggle our way to an automatic spot!

When you have a season ticket you keep going but many times this season after leaving by 11 and getting back at 8 even when winning it has felt like a slog. After the effort and expense involved think fans can discuss the negatives as much as they like as long as they are not vicious to staff or players personally.
Are you really saying you get back from a game and feel uplifted focussing just on the positives? Yesterday was an opportunity missed against a poor side with 2 henchmen at the back who should have been torn apart. If we get promoted we will scrape it

The players can have lapses in concentration, that happens to every team and late goals goes for and against us. The manager tells the players what do, how to set up, where to play the ball, movements going forward. I think the squad is good enough to play with more control, more fluidity, wearing sides out by actually keeping the ball. There was a couple of times where it was one touch passing and we got into their box, really good football. If we just kept the ball better, Shrewsbury would have burnt out in the end. Their quality of pass was awful and we kept gifting them opportunities to knock the ball in the channels once their subs came on.
The manager does not want the team to retain the ball, hence why every side we face regardless of quality keeps having chances. We should be killing teams off, not just with the scoreline but making them run around and tiring them out. We could easily pick teams off but Warne's style of football makes it very difficult to put games to bed. I don't think many folks are moaning for the sake of it, even if I don't agree with some of their points. The team is not playing smartly enough in a "bad patch" where we are picking up points but it is a chore to see to 90 minutes. We should not be breathing a sigh of relief thinking I'm glad we've like some points here like underdog smaller club with a small budget.

I'm with @ramtique on this.  It's simply not as enjoyable as it has been.  It's not as entertaining as it could be.  Jipes, it could even be argued it's not as entertaining as it SHOULD be (But that's a separate discussion).
Like @ramtique, I too suspect there are others (20k+, quite likely, but I appreciate I could be open to argument there!)
I'm not threatening to down STs and stay away (Although it does occasionally cross my mind!).  I'm certainly not affected enough to be concerned about my day to day mental well being.
I don't enjoy seaside do-nuts as much as I did 40 years ago, but they're still bloody tempting when you're within touching distance of the seaside.

You are taking a quote after stripping most of the context away (I was challenging Foreveram who seemed happy with a point because there was no movement in our league position).  You can never guarantee any result in football but there are games which should be easy compared with others. Yesterday was a game I would call easy. 15 away games this season, and the Shrews had won 3, drawn 2, scoring a magnificent 6 goals on their travels. We should have been at them from the start, but no Warne picks a team with 3 central defenders, and only two forwards. And we decide pre-match to telegraph to the other side we are not going to take them on in midfield. Bonkers. I agree that the next match is a difficult game.
